Business Manager Import and Export Privileges in B2C Commerce: Business Manager provides many levels of system privileges, and with that comes many separate importing and exporting modules. However, the functionality presented in the Business Manager is similar for each module.
Business Manager Network Access in B2C Commerce: To limit network access to Business Manager, configure security controls to restrict access to specific IP addresses or ranges. The intent of setting these network access restrictions is to lock out attackers who obtained valid credentials through illegitimate means. To enable this functionality, you can specify a range of allowlisted IP addresses allowed to access Business Manager and a range of blocklisted IP addresses not allowed to access Business Manager. If an IP address is blocklisted and allowlisted, it’s denied access.
Browser Support: B2C Commerce supports several different browsers.
Buy Now and Pay Later Payment Services for B2C Commerce: The buy now, pay later payment option for B2C Commerce makes it convenient for shoppers to purchase items in all price ranges. Salesforce Payments offers Buy Now, Pay Later payment through Klarna and AfterPay.
Buy Now Pay Later with Afterpay for B2C Commerce: Afterpay is available in Salesforce Payments through your Stripe Merchant account as a Checkout payment method. With Afterpay, shoppers make payment in interest-free installments. This feature is available for B2C Commerce.
Buy Now Pay Later with Klarna for B2C Commerce: Klarna is available as a Checkout payment method. With Klarna, shoppers can spread the cost of their order over three or four interest-free payments. To review the countries where Klara is available, see the Stripe documentation. This feature is available for B2C Commerce.
Buy Now and Pay Now Checkout Methods for B2C Commerce: Salesforce Payments has two express checkout experiences: Pay Now and Buy Now. Pay Now requires a current shopper basket while Buy Now ignores the current basket.
Buy X and Y Get Z Promotion in B2C Commerce: A Buy X and Y Get Z product promotion awards a shopper a free product if their cart contains more than one different qualifying product.
Campaigns and Promotions in B2C Commerce: In the Business Manager Online Marketing module, create campaigns and A/B tests that act as wrappers, containing experiences that include promotions, content slots, and sorting rules. Slot configurations and sorting rules, however, don't require assignment to campaigns or A/B tests to take effect. Slot configurations can be scheduled outside the context of an A/B test. A default sorting rule can be set for a category in a storefront catalog outside the context of a campaign or A/B test.
Cancel Orders: You can cancel an order that is in New, Open, or Completed Status. You can't cancel a failed order. To cancel an order associated with active post-processing objects, such as shipping orders, returns, or appeasements, you must cancel them. If you use B2C Commerce Order Management, then after an order is sent to Order Management, manage it there.
SiteGenesis Cartridges: A cartridge is a mechanism for packaging and deploying program code and data in B2C Commerce. You use cartridges to extend business functionality or integrate with external systems. A cartridge can deliver generic or application-specific functionality.
Catalog Design: In B2C Commerce Business Manager, you can enter product data manually or you can import the data in an XML file and edit the data. Most customers import product data from their Product Information Management system or other system of record, and then enhance it in Business Manager.
Catalog Object Import/Export in B2C Commerce: Import an entire catalog at once; the import operation includes the catalog and any categories and products within the catalog. Export works similarly; you export the entire catalog at once.
Catalog Scenarios: Here are some common ways you can configure and use B2C Commerce catalogs to merchandise your products.
Catalogs: B2C Commerce stores your product data in a catalog. A catalog is a collection of the products that you sell, organized into different categories.
Categories for B2C Commerce: You create and organize categories and subcategories to organize and group products in your catalog and on your storefront. For example, an outdoors outfitter site uses Boots, Climbing Gear, and Outerwear categories to organize products on their storefront.
Category Linking for B2C Commerce: Link categories to each other so items in one category can be identified as belonging to another category. For example, link an Accessories category to a Women's category. Use the link to identify certain products within the Women's category as Accessories, such as scarves, jewelry, belts, or shoes.
Add a Content Block to a Page: Drag a saved content block from the Content Blocks toolbar onto a B2C Commerce Page Designer page to reuse the same content across pages. After you add a block, future edits to the block automatically appear on every page where the block is used.
Apply Bulk Actions to Content Blocks: Select multiple B2C Commerce content blocks and apply targeting or scheduling rules to all of them at once. Bulk actions reduce the time required to manage seasonal campaigns and sitewide content updates.
Delete a Content Block: Permanently delete a content block from the Content Blocks module. Before deleting, review the content block's usage to confirm it isn't referenced by any active B2C Commerce storefront pages or regions.
Edit a Content Block: Edit a content block's components, attributes, or styling in Page Designer. Changes apply everywhere the content block is used across your B2C Commerce storefront.
Filter and Search Content Blocks: Use the Content Blocks module to browse, search, and filter B2C Commerce content blocks. Filters let you narrow results by campaign, promotion, schedule, targeting locale, customer group, and creation date.
Localize a Content Block: Create locale-specific versions of a content block so that localized content appears on your B2C Commerce storefront for each target locale.
Manage Content Blocks: Use the Content Blocks module in Business Manager to search, filter, target, and manage the lifecycle of B2C Commerce content blocks from a centralized location.
Content Blocks Overview: Content blocks are compositions of one or more components that you define one time and reuse across multiple pages and B2C Commerce storefront regions. They use a JSON-based format and are supported for PWA Kit, Storefront Next, Salesforce Reference Architecture (SFRA), and SiteGenesis storefronts.
Content Blocks in Page Designer: In B2C Commerce Page Designer, save components as content blocks, add content blocks to pages, and remove content blocks from pages. Content blocks that you create or modify in Page Designer also appear in the Content Blocks module.
Remove a Content Block from a Page: Remove a content block from a single B2C Commerce Page Designer page without deleting it or affecting other pages that use it. The block stays available in the Content Blocks menu and module for reuse elsewhere.
Create a Content Block: Create a content block by saving a component in B2C Commerce Page Designer. The content block retains the component's content, attribute values, and targeting rules.
Set Targeting Rules for a Content Block: Control when and to whom a B2C Commerce content block is visible by adding it to a campaign or promotion, or by applying custom targeting rules.
View Content Block Usage and References: See all the pages and B2C Commerce storefront regions where a content block is currently used. Reviewing usage helps you understand the impact of changes before editing or deleting a content block.
View Control Center Audit Events in Log Center: To monitor the state of your B2C instances, view Control Center audit events in Log Center, the centralized location for log management. Audit events show all Control Center activity, regardless of which user performs an action, and if necessary, take corrective action to solve any issues.
Private Keys and Certificates in B2C Commerce: In various scenarios, you must import your third-party certificates and private keys into your instance’s keystore. A keystore can store multiple entries, each of which can be of type PrivateKeyEntry or of type TrustedCertificateEntry. This is similar to the terminology used by java.security.KeyStore.
Change the B2C Commerce Dashboard Realm Currency: With B2C Commerce Reports and Dashboards, you set the realm currency setting so that aggregated realm data for all your sites shows in the selected currency.
Change the B2C Commerce Dashboard Timezone: The default realm timezone setting for Reports & Dashboards is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). You can change the timezone setting to one that better serves your business needs.
Change History: Configure which B2C Commerce objects you want to track, and view the change history on staging and production instances. For each object, see when it was created, updated, or deleted.
Characters Allowed in URLs: Encode most characters used in URLs. B2C Commerce automatically encodes special or reserved characters, or umlauts in URLs, but doesn't remove them.
Checklist for Active Merchandising: To implement active data for a B2C Commerce site, tag the site for data collection and import other attribute values.
Choice of Bonus Product Discount in B2C Commerce: Offer your shoppers a choice of bonus product as a discount. For example, spend at least $1,000 on living room furniture and get your choice of three different types of televisions.
Choice-of-Bonus-Product Discount FAQ in B2C Commerce: The APIs described in the topic, Implementing a Choice-of-Bonus-Product Discount, are all that you need to implement this discount in your storefront. Use the following to address some common questions.
Choose Which Attributes Appear in the Category Grid View: By default, products in the B2C Commerce grid view show the product's ID, name, status, and the product attributes catalog, and type. You can modify which product attributes appear on the product tiles.
Classification vs. Primary Category: When assigning a product to a category, the primary and classification categories are used to determine what information appears for the product in the B2C Commerce storefront.
Refresh a Static Asset in the eCDN Cache: To show an updated static storefront asset before its B2C Commerce eCDN cache interval expires, upload the new version. B2C Commerce assigns the asset a new fingerprint and URL, so eCDN retrieves it. You don't need to clear the eCDN cache or file a support ticket.
SiteGenesis Client-Side Scripts: Client-side js in B2C Commerce SiteGenesis performs functions that don't require information from the server.
Code Replication in B2C Commerce: Code replication transfers a code version from staging to a development or production instance and activates it on the target instance.
Code Replication Processes in B2C Commerce: Each code replication process transfers a code version, activates a transferred code version, transfers and activates a code version, or reverts the active code version on the most recent target instance.
Code Upload in B2C Commerce: Upload custom code, also known as cartridges, to an instance using UX Studio, or with a file transfer mechanism such as WebDAV over Transport Layer Security (TLS). It’s important that you secure code uploads. Follow these best practices.
Commerce Apps for B2C Commerce: Manage checkout integrations from a single workspace. Commerce Apps combines APIs, back-end code, and UI components to integrate native Salesforce, partner, and custom solutions into the B2C Commerce platform.
B2C Commerce Business Manager: Use Business Manager to manage all aspects of your digital commerce operations. Business Manager gives merchandisers, admins, developers, and business users a unified interface for managing products, customers, orders, promotions, as well as admin and development-related settings.
B2C Commerce Data in Tableau: Use your B2C Commerce data in Tableau to create dashboards and data views tailored to your specific business needs. The Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud Connector exports your B2C Commerce analytics data to your Tableau instance. You can use Tableau's data visualization features to analyze your data without code.
B2C Commerce Data Subject Areas: The Tableau connector provides access to data from the B2C Commerce subject areas. You can select a data subject area data visualization in Tableau. The subject areas are the same analytics data used to generate B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards.
Commerce Einstein: B2C Commerce Einstein provides artificial intelligence-powered merchandising tools to deliver actionable insights and tailored customer experiences.
Commerce Tableau Connector: The Commerce Tableau Connector facilitates access to your B2C Commerce base metrics in Tableau. Use Tableau to generate customized analytic views of your data.
Commerce Script Injection in B2C Commerce: Server script injection, or remote code execution, is a class of attack where maliciously crafted input is run in a privileged code execution context. This class of attack enables an attacker to control the code executed on the server.
B2C Commerce Security Guide: To help protect your sites from security threats, follow our security best practices as you set up, administer, and develop your Salesforce B2C Commerce environments.
B2C Commerce Security Model: Salesforce B2C Commerce security is a partnership between Salesforce and our B2C Commerce customers. As always, Trust is our #1 value at Salesforce. We’re committed to delivering the highest standard in system availability, performance, and security.
Common Phrases: A common phrase is a search term with 2-5 words that are next to each other and in a specific order. Use common phrases to decrease noise in your search results and give B2C Commerce customers more targeted results for multi-word search queries.
Common SEO Pitfalls in B2C Commerce: In addition to actively optimizing your site for search engines, you also want to avoid issues that commonly arise while developing and managing a website.
Compound Words: A compound word is a query term that a customer can enter as a single term or a phrase. If a compound word appears in a search phrase as a single term, it's automatically split. B2C Commerce treats each part of the split word as a separate search term.
Configure Custom Page Attributes for Page Designer: If the developer created custom page-level attributes for a B2C Commerce Page Designer page type, you can configure the attributes under Page Settings.
Configure SEO Settings for a Page Designer Page: Set the search-engine optimization metadata for a B2C Commerce Page Designer page, including its URL, page title, meta description, and meta keywords, so external search engines index and rank the page. This procedure doesn't apply to dynamic Product Detail or Product List pages, which use Page Meta Tag Rules instead.
Configuration for Administrators: B2C Commerce Log Center administrators can access the Config tab to set log levels and log volumes.
Find a Product Using Advanced Search: Find products in your B2C Commerce catalog that have specific standard and custom attributes. Advanced search provides flexible, case-insensitive query options.
Configure B2C Commerce Alerts in Business Manager and Slack: Set up notifications for your organization in Business Manager and Slack. Configure updates, such as security vulnerabilities, campaign and promotion updates, or site alerts, to appear on your Business Manager homepage. You can also send updates directly to your Slack workspaces.
Configure Basket Preferences: Configurable basket settings include persistence across B2C Commerce shopper sessions, the treatment of duplicate product line items, and the maximum number of product line items per basket. These preferences are site-specific, and a customized storefront doesn’t necessarily evaluate them.
Configure a Page Shield Policy for an eCDN Zone: Set up a Page Shield policy to make sure only trusted scripts run on sensitive store pages like cart and checkout. A Page Shield policy helps detect client-side script changes and supply chain risks, and helps your B2C Commerce store comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 4.0.1 client-side security requirements.
Configure the Enforce HTTPS Global Preference: Enforce the use of HTTPS for all sites in a B2C Commerce instance. When this setting is enabled, URLs generate using the HTTPS protocol, and incoming page requests that use HTTP redirect to HTTPS. HTTP requests to Open Commerce API (OCAPI)'s session bridge aren't accepted. Also, instead of a combination of session cookies and secure tokens, secure session cookies are used, which helps avoid incorrect (false positive) session hijacking detections. Enable the Enforce HTTPS global preference to let browsers send cookies in cross-site contexts.
Set Up Eventing in B2C Commerce: Use eventing in B2C Commerce to receive notifications when certain data or processing events occur in your Commerce Cloud environment. You enable event types and configure connectors in Business Manager; B2C Commerce routes events directly to your configured connectors.
Configure HSTS for an eCDN Zone: Enable HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) for a B2C Commerce eCDN zone to make web browsers connect to your domain over HTTPS only. Set the max age, choose whether HSTS applies to subdomains, and optionally enable preload.
Set HSTS for Business Manager in Global Preferences: HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) can substantially improve the security of the Business Manager for B2C Commerce. To secure Business Manager, HSTS instructs web browsers to access the domain using only HTTPS.
Configure Payment Methods for B2C Commerce: Configure payment methods for each payment zone based on your payment provider, region, and currency configuration. The checkout and express checkout payment methods that you configure appear on the checkout page in your Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA), Composable Storefront, or Storefront Next site.

Configure Salesforce Payments with Adyen for B2C Commerce: Integrate your existing Adyen merchant accounts into Salesforce Payments in any B2C Commerce sandbox, staging, development, or production instance. Connect any B2C Commerce instance to a test or live Adyen merchant account.
Configure Salesforce Payments with Stripe for B2C Commerce: Configure Stripe merchant accounts with Salesforce Payments in any B2C Commerce sandbox, staging, development, or production instance. Stripe merchant accounts that you create in a B2C Commerce instance can operate in both test and live mode.
Configure the Salesforce Sign-On URL in Business Manager: After you create an Auth Provider, Salesforce generates a single sign-on URL. Add this URL to the identity synchronization setting in Business Manager. These instructions apply whether Account Manager or the Salesforce org is the IdP for B2C Commerce Merchant Agent access.
Configure Searchable Attributes: When a search query is entered in B2C Commerce, only product or content attributes that are configured as searchable attributes are searched, and only products or content assets that contain the search term in a searchable attribute are returned in search results. If the searched term is contained in an attribute that isn't a searchable attribute, the product isn't returned in the search results.
Configure Shopper Profile Sync: Use Shopper Profile Sync to synchronize registered shoppers between B2C Commerce and your Salesforce org as person accounts.
Configure Single or Multiple-Code Coupons for B2C Commerce: Create a single-code coupon or multiple-code coupons, depending on your B2C storefront's promotional needs. Single-code coupons use one code for all customers, multiple-code coupons use multiple unique codes. The code is what you share with customers through marketing campaigns.
Configure Site URL Aliases for .my Domains: Prevent cross-origin (CORS) errors after your B2C Commerce storefront moves to the .my Default Domain, manually add the .my hostname to your site URL aliases file.
Configure System-Generated Coupon Codes for B2C Commerce: To auto-generate codes, first set the coupon code preferences, then configure the code settings. After you generate the codes, specify the coupons redemption conditions.
Add a System Use Notification Message in B2C Commerce: Create a system use notification message that displays when your users log in. You can also require them to acknowledge this message before continuing to log in.
Configure Crypto Settings for an eCDN Zone: Configure SSL/TLS and cryptography settings for a B2C Commerce eCDN zone, including Transport Layer Security (TLS) version and HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), using the Configure Zone screen in Business Manager.
Configure Custom Error Pages for an eCDN Zone: Set custom HTML error pages for 500-class and 1000-class errors generated by the embedded CDN for a B2C Commerce zone, using the Configure Zone screen in Business Manager.
Logpush and Logpull for an eCDN Zone: Stream B2C Commerce eCDN request, security, and Page Shield logs to your own storage or observability platform (Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Datadog, or Splunk), or download recent logs on demand, all from the Logs tab on the Configure Zone screen in Business Manager.
eCDN Zone Notifications: Get notified when eCDN events on your B2C Commerce storefront that matter to you happen, such as a Logpush job failure on a PCI-bound zone, a security incident, or a configuration change, without having to watch dashboards. The Notifications tab on the Configure Zone screen lets you configure webhook destinations and wire them up to one or more zones.
Realm Security Rules for eCDN Zones: Realm Security Rules let you define Managed IP Address Lists and custom firewall rules that control how trusted IP traffic is handled across all your eCDN zones for B2C Commerce. These rules replace the legacy Trusted IP configuration.
Configure Speed Settings for an eCDN Zone: Optimize B2C Commerce eCDN zone performance by enabling speed settings such as Early Hints, HTTP/3, and image compression via the Configure Zone screen in Business Manager.
Configure WAF Settings for an eCDN Zone: Configure web application firewall (WAF) managed rulesets for an eCDN zone for B2C Commerce by using the Security Rules tab in Configure Zones in Business Manager.
Configure 301 HTTP Redirects for Legacy URLs in B2C Commerce: 301 Redirects are used for permanent URL redirection, sending users to a different URL than the one they originally typed into their browser or selected from search engine results. The 301 redirect is considered a best practice for upgrading users from HTTP to HTTPS.
eCDN Zone Settings in Business Manager: Use the Configure Zone screen in Business Manager to manage settings for an embedded CDN (eCDN) zone for B2C Commerce, including certificates, security rules, performance, custom pages, notifications, and logs.
Configure an External CDN or Third-Party Proxy: Use your own content delivery network (CDN) with Salesforce B2C Commerce's embedded CDN to deliver static and dynamic content to your customers. Deploy your CDN (or a reverse proxy) in front of B2C Commerce to improve performance and security, or to provide extra functionality.
Configure Change History Preferences for B2C Commerce: You control change history settings across the organization. Because there are potentially many events, filter events using various criteria, such as by user, object type, or date.
Configure Commerce Intelligence Preferences for IP Filtering: Internal performance and load testing tools can contaminate the data you see in Reports and Dashboards, making it difficult to distinguish between generated traffic and actual customer behavior. Specify IP address ranges to filter out traffic from your internal testing tools, ensuring that your analytics reflect genuine B2C Commerce customer interactions.
Configure a Hostname Alias: A hostname alias is required to create short, meaningful URLs for external search engines to index. Assign at least one hostname alias that is the current hostname on which the B2C Commerce instance is running.
Configure Organization Locales for B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce is structured as an organization containing one or more sites (storefronts). Define localization settings for both entities.
Configure Product and Content Locking for B2C Commerce: Define the time (in minutes) for when products or content are locked while editing. During this time, other users can't edit the product record or content asset. The lock (applied before product editing) is released after this time.
Configure Promotion Preferences for B2C Commerce: Configure many of the promotion settings as site preferences, giving you much flexibility in how your promotions are handled. These settings include Buy X/Get Y promotion behavior, discount precision, and how the tax basis is calculated for line items with discounts.
Configure B2C Commerce Einstein Recommenders: After deploying B2C Commerce Einstein, product details page (pdp) and recently viewed recommenders are available out of the box. Merchants also can create custom recommenders, leveraging Einstein strategies and rules.
Configure Retention Settings for B2C Commerce: Configure the lifetime of inventory and product price records that no longer reference products. You can also configure the lifetime for lists created by anonymous shoppers to retain this information for a longer time period. This information is typically for wish lists and gift registries.
Configure Search Index Language Options: B2C Commerce indexes all allowed site locales by default. To reduce indexing times and overall resource consumption, exclude locales from indexing that don't have a particular set of data. You can also upload an extra dictionary for more directed and appropriate search results.
Configure SEO URLs for B2C Commerce: Optimizing site URLs for search engines improves user experience, rankings, linking functionality, and greatly increases site traffic.
Configure Site Locales for B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce is structured as an organization containing one or more sites (storefronts). Define locale settings in Business Manager for these two entities, first at the organization level and then at the site level.
Configuring Storefront Sites for B2C Commerce: New sites require some level of access control. Many use a single shared password for all users. Using a Business Manager login with the functional permission provides a much higher level of security and access control, in particular with frequent password renewals and employees leaving an organization.
Configure Catalog Image Settings in B2C Commerce: In B2C Commerce, configure catalog image settings only when the settings created with the catalog differ from what you want, or to add a catalog-level variation attribute. Default alt text and title fill in only when an image has none of its own, so you leave them unchanged before you assign images.
Set Up B2C Commerce with a Salesforce Connection: Set up a trusted data exchange between B2C Commerce and a dedicated Salesforce org for the Merchant Agent to work. Connect your B2C Commerce instance to Salesforce to access agentic and cross-cloud experiences.
Connect to Tableau: Connecting your B2C Commerce data to Tableau requires an API client ID. Use the Web Data Connector option in Tableau, and use the client ID to launch the connector and export your data to Tableau.
Connect Your B2C Commerce Instance to Salesforce: Create a trusted data exchange between your B2C Commerce instance and a Salesforce org. This connection gives you access to agentic and cross-cloud experiences, such as Shopper Agent, Merchant Agent, Shopper Profile Sync, and Shopper Notifications.
Enable Salesforce Personalization for Shopper Notifications: Salesforce Personalization adds product recommendations to B2C Commerce shopper notifications. Shopper notifications work without Personalization, but with Personalization, Abandoned Cart and Post Order email templates include personalized product recommendations.
Consent Management: Track Shopper Consent in B2C Commerce: Honor and respect your customers’ wishes when they request only specific forms of contact from your company or opt-out of certain types of data-sharing. We provide details to help you determine the best way to comply with the data protection and privacy regulations that apply to your company.
Content Asset Types: Salesforce B2C Commerce manages two types of content assets: content assets that are stored in the database and file assets that are stored in the file system.
Content Assets in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce supports a wide variety of content assets, including HTML text, graphics, and video. You use content assets to provide your customers non-product related information such as customer support pages, special sales, size charts, and gardening tips.
Content Blocks: Content blocks are modular, reusable units of content that you create in B2C Commerce Page Designer and manage centrally using the Content Blocks module in Business Manager.
Content Libraries in B2C Commerce: In Salesforce B2C Commerce, use the private library that was created when your site was created. You can also create a library that is shared across multiple sites.
Content Security Policy (CSP) Configuration: Content Security Policy (CSP) is a security feature that you configure for your B2C Commerce storefront. When you implement CSP, you're responsible for making sure that your configuration enables the necessary scripts to run as intended.
Content Slot Object Import/Export in B2C Commerce: Using Business Manager, import existing content slot configurations to use with a new instance, and export them for transfer between instances. The slots themselves aren’t imported or exported, but page templates define them (in UX Studio). Slot configurations only reference those slots (using the slot ID). Within Business Manager, the elements in the slot.xsd control the visibility of a slot.
Content Slots in B2C Commerce: You can embed a content slot in any part of your storefront site, to show products, categories, content assets, or static HTML based on a schedule. A content asset can be a flash graphic, product carousel, product search result set, or marketing graphic. Use Business Manager to create and schedule a slot configuration, instead of changing storefront code.
SiteGenesis Controllers: Controllers are server-side scripts that handle B2C Commerce storefront requests. Controllers manage the flow of data in your application, and create ViewModels to process each storefront request as a route and generate an appropriate response. For example, in a storefront application, clicking a category menu item or entering a search term triggers a controller that renders a page.
Support Cookie SameSite Attribute Changes for B2C Commerce: Many browser vendors, for example Google Chrome, have introduced a new default cookie attribute setting of SameSite=Lax. Previously, the SameSite cookie attribute defaulted to SameSite=None. When SameSite is set to None, cookies require the Secure attribute indicating that they require an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Copy a Page Designer Page: You can make a copy of a B2C Commerce Page Designer page. The copy has all the same page settings and content as the original, except the copy has a different page ID. Copying an existing page can improve your efficiency since you don't start from scratch every time you create a page.
Copy a Promotion in B2C Commerce: Instead of creating similar promotions individually, copy an existing promotion and modify it.
Copy Content into a Shared Library in B2C Commerce: Your site's private content library was created when your site was created. If you want to use this content with multiple sites, you must copy it into a shared library.
Cost Price: Cost price is a fixed cost price imported into B2C Commerce for use in calculations. Cost price is a site-specific value and must be represented in the same currency used for purchases on the site.
Coupon Analytics and Reporting for B2C Commerce: Track the effectiveness of specific promotions and campaigns by the number of coupon redemptions. By analyzing this information, you can adjust your promotional strategies to increase repeat business and revenue.
Coupon Redemption for B2C Commerce: Set redemption limits to control discount offers and keep promotional campaigns within budgets. Manage coupon usage by customer or time limits.
Create a Catalog: You create a catalog before you can configure categories or product data. Use Business Manager to create and manage your B2C Commerce organization's catalogs.
Create a Category or Subcategory for B2C Commerce: Create categories and subcategories in Business Manager. A subcategory nests under an existing category, letting you build multiple layers that specify how your products show on your storefront.
Create a Custom B2C Business Manager App: Create a custom app in Business Manager with the modules and navigation tailored to how you work, either from the Merchandising template or from scratch.
Create a Categorization Rule Set for B2C Commerce: A categorization rule set is a set of conditions used to organize and classify products. These conditions filter and isolate products based on specific attributes, operators, and values, automatically assigning them to the appropriate category.
Create a Log Center Alert: Monitor conditions and send notifications in B2C Commerce Log Center. Catch behavioral anomalies early, get notified when a log delivery pipeline fails, or create an alert for a specific incident.
Create a Base Product: To create a base product in B2C Commerce, you create a base product first, then assign variation products to it. Scenario 1
Create a PagerDuty Channel for Log Center Alerts: For on-call escalation and incident management, set up PagerDuty notifications in B2C Commerce. When you route Log Center notifications in B2C Commerce to PagerDuty, the alert's state lifecycle is mapped to a specific PagerDuty action and severity. Each alert monitor uses a unique deduplication key, so repeated triggers update the existing open incident instead of creating duplicate incidents.
Create a Variation Product: Variation attributes can be Local or Shared. You create shared variation attributes in the scope of a B2C Commerce catalog, and apply them to some or all products of that catalog. You create local variation attributes for a specific product, and apply them only to that product.
Configure A/B Test Segments for B2C Commerce: After you create an A/B test for B2C Commerce, configure test segments on the Segments tab. A maximum of five test segments is permitted, one control group and up to four user-defined segments.
Create a Boost or Bury Rule: Create a rule that boosts or buries matching products in your B2C Commerce storefront for a search term, a category, or site-wide context.
Create Boost and Bury Rules with the B2C Merchant Agent: Use the Merchant Agent to create boost and bury rules with natural language prompts. Agentic rule creation is available only for categories. Create search term boost and bury rules manually.
Create an eCDN Cache Rule: Create a cache rule to make HTML pages and JSON responses eligible for caching at the eCDN edge for your B2C Commerce storefront. By default, eCDN caches only static content based on file extension.
Create a Logpush Job: Create a Logpush job to stream eCDN request, security, and Page Shield logs from your B2C Commerce storefront continuously to a customer-owned destination. The New Logpush Job wizard walks through destination setup and job configuration in two steps.
Create a Notification Destination: Register a webhook destination that receives eCDN notification payloads for your B2C Commerce storefront, such as a Slack incoming webhook or a custom HTTPS endpoint. A destination is reusable across multiple notification rules and across zones.
Create a Notification Rule: Create a notification rule to bind a webhook destination to one or more eCDN zones for your B2C Commerce storefront and control whether delivery is enabled. Toggling a rule off pauses delivery without deleting the rule.
Create External URL Redirects: B2C Commerce's site alias configuration doesn't allow for external URL redirects. The solution is to build a custom pipeline that sends the configured hostname to the redirectpermanent template. This extension shows how to build such a custom pipeline.
Create Geographical Customer Groups: Use rules to define customer groups by the geolocation data of the IP addresses of B2C Commerce customers when they log in.
Create a Job Parameter: Create a parameter to use in different job steps. For example, create a parameter for ReplicationProcessID and set it to the ID of a specific replication process. Then use the parameter in different job steps. If you need to use a different replication process, change the value of the parameter, and B2C Commerce updates all steps that include the parameter. Overwrite the value of a job parameter if you use Open Commerce API (OCAPI) to execute a job.
Create a Job in B2C Commerce: When you create a job, you configure at least one flow, and select which steps to execute in each flow. Use out-of-the-box system job steps that don't require any coding. If there isn't a system job step available to do what you want, have a developer create a custom job step. You can also schedule when the job executes, specify resources to lock during job execution, and configure email notifications and error handling.
Create a Legacy Job: Legacy B2C Commerce jobs use pipelines that a developer creates using the UX Studio plug-in to the Eclipse IDE. This functionality is deprecated. We recommend creating jobs using the new job framework.
Create a Product List or Product Detail Page Template for Page Designer: Create a Product List or Product Detail page template to reuse across multiple categories and products. Create the template page with the structure and components you want to use, and then assign that page to one or more categories. When a Product List or Product Detail page is required in the B2C Commerce storefront, the template page assigned to the category appears, populated with the appropriate product information.
Create Product Options: Product options enable you to associate some products with other products so that B2C Commerce customers can configure a customized product.
Create a Search-Driven Redirect for a Page Designer Page: Route a storefront search to a specific B2C Commerce Page Designer page. In Business Manager Search, create a search-driven redirect that maps one or more keywords to the page's ID as the Content ID.
Create a Sort Rule with the B2C Merchant Agent: Use the Merchant Agent to create sorting rules based on sequential data attributes such as price or conversion rate to control how search results are displayed to customers.
Specify When a Page Designer Page Is Visible Based on Customer Group or Schedule: Configure a B2C Commerce Page Designer page to be visible only to certain customers or only during certain dates and times. If you’ve targeted the page to be part of a campaign or promotion, this functionality isn’t available. In that case, the campaign or promotion you assign determines the customer group and schedule, if any. Also build customer groups to include, or exclude, specific regions or locales.
Set Component Visibility by Customer Group, Schedule, or Locale: You can use Page Designer to control which components appear on a B2C Commerce storefront. You can select which components are visible to specific customer groups. You can also set components to appear only during certain times or for specific locales.
Create a Campaign in B2C Commerce: A campaign acts as a wrapper for your promotions and qualifiers. When you create a campaign, define a schedule and qualifiers for an entire group of promotions or slot configurations.
Create a Content Asset in B2C Commerce: Create content assets that include text, images, and links via URLs. You can also import content assets from external sources. See Content Asset Types.
Create a Dynamic Customer Group in B2C Commerce: A dynamic customer group is a group with changing membership. Membership is based on purchase history, profile, address, or active data. You can also base membership on membership in system and static customer groups. You can't base membership on dynamic customer groups.
Create a Promotion in B2C Commerce: To create product, shipping, and order promotions, the overall steps are the same, but with different rule specifications.
Create a Redirect from a B2C Commerce URL: The URL redirects feature redirects obsolete or unavailable B2C Commerce pages to currently available pages, or to a specific URL outside B2C Commerce. You can also schedule when a redirect becomes active and when it expires.
Create an eCDN Zone: The embedded CDN (eCDN) configuration is organized around zones. A zone represents a root or apex domain (for example, example.com). A hostname is a subdomain of a specific zone (for example, www.example.com). Create a zone in Business Manager to route your B2C Commerce storefront traffic through the eCDN.
Create an A/B Test for B2C Commerce: Create A/B tests with multiple user groups, including a control group, and assign promotions, slot configurations, or category sorting rule overrides to each experience.
Create Canonical URL Tags for B2C Commerce: Canonical URLs help prevent duplicate content issues by specifying the "canonical", or "preferred", version of a web page as part of search engine optimization. Normally, search engines lower the rankings for pages that appear to be duplicates. Indicating that a page has a canonical URL helps preserve those rankings.
Create Catalog and Content URLs: Configure how your B2C Commerce SEO URLs are created for category URLs, category search refinement URLs, and product URLs.
Create Custom Preferences for B2C Commerce: In Salesforce B2C Commerce, you can create custom preferences for sites, and then view and edit them both locally and across multiple sites. Custom preferences enable site developers to make properties of the system modules configurable in Business Manager.
Creating Data Files for Import in B2C Commerce: When the data structure and scope is understood and documented, map how to translate existing data into the B2C Commerce format. Also, map how to export the data from the B2C Commerce environment back into the customer's environment.
Create Feed Files: Create a maximum of three new B2C Commerce feed definitions. Use field definitions when your imported attributes require a different import frequency (daily versus weekly) or when they are fed from different backend systems.
Creating Active Data Feeds: When active data is enabled for your B2C Commerce site, certain data, as defined by Business Manager system objects, is captured on your Production instance. These data are automatically imported into your Production and Staging instances.
Feeds for Sitemap Attributes in B2C Commerce: Populate sitemap attribute values through the catalog and content import feeds, which let you set values for sitemap attributes of products and content respectively. You can also use a custom import pipeline to create and populate the attributes.
Create a Gift Certificate: Create an individual gift certificate in Business Manager and set its value and status. Because you can't stage gift certificates, create and manage them in your Production environment. After a certificate is created, its value is fixed and can only be redeemed.
Create Global Custom Preferences for B2C Commerce: In Salesforce B2C Commerce, you can create global custom preferences, and then view and edit them. Custom preferences enable organization developers to make properties of the system modules configurable in Business Manager.
Create Home Page Links: If your host is listed as an alias, and only one locale is used for the site, you can create links to the home page that are search-friendly because they don't require additional information to determine the locale. In this case, you can use a hostname-only URL instead of generating links to the homepage via a B2C Commerce pipeline. If you have a multi-locale site, ignore the rest of this topic.
Creating Import/Export Pipelines in B2C Commerce: In addition to importing a file, you can also use your import/export pipeline to update search indexes, archive files, and copy bad import files to a specific directory.
Creating Jobs in B2C Commerce: Use Business Manager to create a job. We recommend that you use the new job framework to create jobs, but the legacy, deprecated functionality is also available in Business Manager.
Create a JSON-LD Page Meta Tag Rule: Create a JSON-LD page meta tag definition, add a rule with your Schema.org template, and assign it to add structured data to your B2C Commerce storefront pages.
Create New Search Refinements: Before creating search refinements, if you're refining by attribute values, make sure that the attribute has data and is indexed. To create search refinements for the keyword search, create them for the root category for the B2C Commerce storefront catalog.
Create Page Meta Tag Rules for B2C Commerce: Using static and dynamic elements, define meta tags with a rule-based approach to create unique meta tag content and increase the SEO value across pages, products, and URLs.
Page Designer for B2C Commerce: Page Designer is a B2C Commerce feature that supports standard development processes and tools for creating reusable page types and component types. Merchants can use a visual editor in Business Manager to design, schedule, and publish custom pages in the storefront by dragging the page and component types.
Create Pipeline URLs: Create up to 500 alias for URLs generated by a B2C Commerce pipeline.
Create Explicit Recommendations: Use the explicit recommendations feature to create and manage explicit recommendations in B2C Commerce.
Create a Role in B2C Commerce: A role is a named group of permissions. For example, group all of the permissions related to catalog management into a role called Catalog Manager. Next, assign this role to the user whose job it is to manage the catalog.
Create a Shipping Promotion Rule in B2C Commerce: A shipping promotion applies to shipping costs, for example Free shipping on orders over $100. Because a cart can contain multiple shipments, a product shipping promotion is applied to each shipment individually.
Create Sorting Rules: Implement personalized sorting rules within your B2C Commerce storefront.
Create Stores in B2C Commerce: Use Business Manager to manage store location information, such as addresses, locations, and hours of business, which appears in your storefront.
Create URL Search Refinement Redirects: Creating URL search refinements in B2C Commerce is a multi-step process. Only add redirects for active URL search refinement.
Cross Cloud Trust for B2C Commerce: Tenant groups enable easy configuration and trust setup across clouds and services. A Salesforce super tenant can add a B2C Commerce realm as a member of its tenant group. Members of a tenant group can share data among themselves without requiring configuration of various one-way trust relationships. This simplifies creation of data sharing policies. An anchor tenant creates a tenant group. For B2C Commerce, the anchor tenant is always a Salesforce tenant and is called as a super tenant. The super tenant owns the tenant group and its memberships. Creation of supertenant and tenant groups is done in Salesforce. Salesforce is also responsible for adding or removing members from the tenant group. Salesforce initiates a two-way handshake with B2C Commerce to add it to a tenant group. This two-way handshake involves the B2C Commerce cross-cloud tenant group provisioning service. Each B2C Commerce tenant can be a member of only one tenant group.
Cross-Site Request Forgery in B2C Commerce: Every storefront contains some protected requests that require a high level of security protection. Authenticated shoppers who change their accounts or submit personal data to a server to complete an action typically perform these requests. Users expect that they alone make these requests, and only when they specifically initiate the request.
Cross-Site Scripting in B2C Commerce: Cross-site scripting (XSS) enables attackers to inject client-side JavaScripts into a webpage viewed by a targeted user. To prevent malicious attacks through content manipulation, you must properly encode all user-provided content.
cross-site request forgery (CSRF) Protection in Business Manager: A CSRF attack is a technique used by malicious attackers to force a victim to make a protected request to B2C Commerce Business Manager ― a request that can severely disrupt your eCommerce business.
Product Catalog CSV Files: B2C Commerce Business Manager supports importing and exporting your catalogs in XML and CSV format. For an easier to read and edit version, export as a CSV file.
Currency Precision in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce follows an international standard for supported currencies. The following currencies have a different level of precision than the standard.
Custom Metadata Object Import/Export in B2C Commerce: When using the system meta data import functionality, the entire definition is replaced. For example, suppose you have a custom group with three attribute groups and you want to add another attribute group to make four attribute groups. In this case, specify all four attribute group definitions in the import file.
Customer List Object Import/Export in B2C Commerce: The customerlist2.xsd contains the meta information and security preferences of the list itself, and all the customers. Each file represents one customer list if you perform a site export and select all the lists. Each file takes the name of the list itself, for example, SiteGenesis.xml for the SiteGenesis customer list.
Customer Lists Preferences for B2C Commerce: Use customer site preferences to control how your storefront responds to failed login attempts by customers. You can optionally lock out a customer's account after a specified number of failed attempts, preventing brute force attempts to crack the customer's password.
Customer Object Import and Export for Payments with B2C Commerce: For Payments with B2C Commerce, use the Customer Object (customer.xsd) to import and export site-specific data about payment customers. See Customer Object Import and Export for Customer object details.
Customer Data Snapshots in B2C Commerce: Business Manager provides the ability to export “snapshots” of customer (shopper) data, including orders, lists, and other data. This is useful when you want to delete customer data from the system but retain an archive of it. A snapshot can include different selections of data related to one or more customer accounts.
Customers in B2C Commerce: Customize how you manage customer records, customer login access, and customer search. Define how long you want to retain product lists in wish lists, and gift registries for anonymous customers.
The B2C Commerce Dashboards: Use the Reports & Dashboards to drill into insights on sales, products, promotions, site traffic, and other aspects of your B2C Commerce sites.
Ingesting B2C Commerce Analytical Data: Ingest aggregated analytical data from the B2C Commerce Data Lakehouse into Data 360 using the Salesforce B2C Commerce Intelligence Connector.

Configure the Data Stream and Connector for Engagement Events: A data stream and its Website connector bring B2C Commerce engagement events into Data Cloud. Using the commerce-b2c-datakit, create the data stream, add a Website connector, and deploy it so a site can send events.
Configure the Engagement Events Feature: Enabling the engagement events feature tells a B2C Commerce site to send shopper interactions to Data Cloud. In Business Manager Site Preferences, supply your Data 360 tenant ID and AppSourceId, then select which event groups the storefront sends.
Configure the Export of Registered Shopper Profiles into Data 360: Export registered B2C Commerce shopper profiles for specific sites and profiles modified after a certain date. The exported profiles are then ingested into Data 360 using the Apache Iceberg connector. A job that performs the ingestion runs once a day. Shopper profiles are visible in Data 360 about an hour after the job completes.
Ingesting B2C Commerce Data into Data 360: B2C Commerce provides several ways to bring your commerce data into Data 360 for harmonization, insights, and personalization.
Ingesting B2C Commerce Domain Data: Ingest domain data from B2C Commerce—including products, sales orders, customer profiles, and custom attributes for products and customer profiles—into Data 360 using the Apache Iceberg connector.
B2C Commerce Domain Data Mappings: When ingesting B2C Commerce domain data using the Apache Iceberg connector, you must manually map these source objects to Data Model Objects (DMOs) in Data 360.
Cart Management Family DMO Mappings: Cart Management interactions capture when B2C Commerce customers add products to their shopping cart (cart-add), remove products from their cart (cart-remove), or modify quantities and product options (cart-update). These interactions map to two DMOs: ShoppingCartEngagement for the cart-level event and ShoppingCartProductEngagement for individual product line items.
Checkout Process Family: Checkout Process interactions capture when B2C Commerce customers initiate checkout (checkout-begin), progress through checkout stages (checkout-step), provide contact information (checkout-contact-info, deprecated), create accounts during checkout (checkout-user-register), and submit final orders (checkout-submit). These interactions map to WebsiteEngagement DMO for checkout events, plus Individual, ContactPointEmail, ContactPointPhone, and ContactPointAddress DMOs for customer data capture.
Content Engagement Family: Content Engagement captures a single interaction, page-view, recorded each time a shopper loads a B2C Commerce storefront page. This browser-side interaction maps to the WebsiteEngagement DMO using the Browser2Server integration type.
Customer Profile Management Family: Customer Profile Management interactions capture new B2C Commerce customer account creation (user-register) and profile modifications (update-user-profile). These interactions map to five DMOs: Individual for core customer identity, ContactPointEmail for email addresses, ContactPointPhone for phone numbers, ContactPointAddress for physical addresses, and PartyIdentification for cross-system identity linking.
Engagement Events Data Enrichment: All B2C Commerce event families benefit from automatic data enrichment that enhances the basic event data with additional context.
Event Family DMO Mappings: Each event family maps to specific Data Model Objects (DMOs) in Data 360. When B2C Commerce captures engagement events, it transforms that data into standardized DMO fields that Data 360 can process. Each event family has distinct mappings based on the type of customer interaction.
Order Processing Family: Order Processing interactions capture when B2C Commerce orders are successfully processed and accepted (order-accepted). This interaction maps to ProductOrderEngagement DMO for order completion events, and can also update customer profile data through Individual and ContactPoint objects.
Product Discovery Family: Product Discovery interactions capture when B2C Commerce customers perform product searches (search), view product detail pages (catalog-object-view-start), and see product impressions (catalog-object-impression). These interactions map to two DMOs: WebSearchEngagement for search activities, and ProductBrowseEngagement for product viewing and browsing.
Engagement Events Integration Reference: Engagement events capture customer interactions from B2C Commerce storefronts in near real-time and map that data into Data 360 Data Model Objects (DMOs).
Wishlist Management Family: Wishlist Management interactions capture when B2C Commerce customers save products for later (wish-list-add) and remove items from their wishlist (wish-list-remove). These interactions map to WebsiteEngagement DMO for wishlist interactions.
Ingest B2C Commerce Domain Data Using the Apache Iceberg Connector: Set up the Apache Iceberg File Federation connection to ingest B2C Commerce domain data—including products, orders, customer profiles, and custom attributes for products and customer profiles—into Data 360.
Install the Data Kit: The data kit makes it easy to define a data stream in Data 360 from B2C Commerce. It also makes it easy to configure a connector with the correct schema and mappings.
B2C Commerce Lakehouse Schema Reference: The B2C Commerce Data Lakehouse stores product catalog, customer, and sales order data in entity tables that use the ccdl_ prefix.
Configure the Near Real-Time Segmentation Feature: After you install the data kit, create a segment, and create a data graph, configure the near real-time segmentation feature for a specific B2C Commerce site.
Near Real-Time Customer Segmentation with Data 360: B2C Commerce storefronts can now leverage customer segments created in Data 360 on a near real-time basis, eliminating the need for batch activation. With up-to-date customer segments, your storefronts can provide timely, personalized, and targeted shopper experiences.
Create a Data Graph for Near Real-Time Segmentation: A data graph assembles related B2C Commerce data into a single retrievable structure for near real-time segmentation. After you create a segment, create and build the data graph from the commerce-b2c-datakit.
Create a Segment for Near Real-Time Segmentation: A segment groups unified B2C Commerce individuals for near real-time segmentation. Create a segment from the DataKit Segment template and set its publish schedule.
Data 360 for B2C Commerce: Data 360 and B2C Commerce can combine to harmonize your business data, gain actionable insights, increase personalization, and create customer segments.
Ingesting B2C Commerce Engagement Events: As shoppers interact with B2C Commerce storefronts, they generate engagement events, such as adding an item to a cart or starting checkout. Ingest this real-time data into Data 360 for harmonization, insights, and personalization.
Configure an Outbound Connections Allowlist in B2C Commerce: Any URL that is already configured in service credentials is automatically added to your allowlist. Follow this process to configure new endpoints and add them to your allowlist.
Data Deletion: Delete Personal Data in B2C Commerce: Delete personal data when it’s necessary to comply with various data protection and privacy regulations. We give you examples of common requests and things to consider. That way, you can determine a plan of action for complying with the regulations that apply to you.
Data Input and Output: Import to and export from staging, development, and production instances and replicate between instances. If your storefront uses a third-party application, you’re responsible for managing feeds into the catalog. Create feeds from B2C Commerce for other backend systems, such as an order management system (OMS), enterprise resource planning system (ERP), product information management system (PIM), or warehouse management system (WMS).
Outbound Connections Allowlist in B2C Commerce: Connections from B2C Commerce to an external cloud provider over a private internet are referred to as outbound connections. To ensure the security and integrity of your B2C Commerce realm, Salesforce Customer Support approves all outbound connections. To control which destinations your data can be sent to, add new endpoints to your outbound connections allowlist. Send data from B2C Commerce to any of the endpoints on the allowlist, including third party providers such as Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), FTP, WebDAV, and HTTP and HTTPS.
Data Portability: Give Shoppers Their Data When They Want It in B2C Commerce: When your customers request it, prepare and pack up the data you’ve received from them to work toward complying with various data protection and privacy regulations. We give you examples of common customer requests and things to consider. That way, you can determine how best to work toward complying with the regulations that apply to your company.
Data Privacy and Protection in B2C Commerce: The Salesforce B2C Commerce Services have a robust data security and privacy program in place. For information on Data Privacy and Protection and related topics, see the referenced resources.
Data Protection and Privacy in B2C Commerce: On May 25, 2018, a new landmark privacy law called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect, impacting every retailer conducting business in the European Union (EU).
Data Replication in B2C Commerce: Data replication copies data, metadata, and files from staging to a development or production instance.
Data Upload in B2C Commerce: Data upload refers to transferring data files from an external system to your instance’s file system. Upload data such as import files, images, and snapshots manually or programmatically. Use Business Manager to transfer data manually. As always, any interaction with Business Manager occurs over HTTPS. Custom code performs data transfer programmatically. In this case, while several file transfer protocols are supported, use only the secure protocols: WebDAV over Transport Layer Security (TLS) (recommended), HTTPS, or Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).
Data Validation in B2C Commerce: Validating user input is the basis of application security. Data validation ensures that it is exactly the kind of data that an application expects. B2C Commerce generally rejects invalid requests outright and returns an error to users. Choose where to perform data validation, but we focus on client- and server-side validation.
Data 360 Connectors for B2C Commerce: When you provision Data 360, it's connected to your Salesforce org and has access to data from B2B Commerce and Salesforce Order Management. You can use connectors to bring data into Data 360 from other sources, such as order data from B2C Commerce or engagement data from websites and mobile apps.
Days Available: Days Available is a product attribute representing the time since B2C Commerce created the item.
Deactivate a Payment Method for B2C Commerce: Disable payment methods from appearing in your Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA), Composable Storefront, or Storefront Next site.
Declarative Security via HTTP Headers in B2C Commerce: You can use declarative security controls as a strong line of defense against client browser-based attacks such as clickjacking and offer built-in browser protection against cross-site scripting (XSS). The OWASP Secure Headers Project describes HTTP response headers that your application can use to increase the security of your application.
Default Domain Support for B2C Commerce: Default Domain is a Salesforce-managed, eCDN-enabled hostname provided for each B2C Commerce instance (development, staging, and production), so you can test without manual DNS, custom domain registration, or certificate management. Use the Default Domain for developer testing, load testing, and preproduction review, whether you're working alongside an existing custom branded domain (for example, www.example.com) or haven't set one up yet.
Default Domain on On-Demand Sandboxes: B2C Commerce On-Demand Sandboxes (ODS) are served exclusively through the Salesforce-managed Default Domain starting with the 26.6 release. When you create a development, production, or partner ODS instance, B2C Commerce provisions the Default Domain automatically and handles DNS and certificates for you.
Defining Feeds: Create feeds for the costPrice and returnRate attributes to use all the B2C Commerce system attributes calculated for ProductActiveData.
Define Source Code Groups for B2C Commerce: Create and configure a source code group in Business Manager, either manually or by import. Set the group's ID, validity dates, and cookie duration, then add the source-code specifications, redirects, and price books it controls.
Delete Orders: You can delete a B2C Commerce order that has an order status of Created, Canceled, Replaced, or Failed, or that has an export status of Exported, and that has no associated replacement order. Deleting an order doesn't delete the data stored in Salesforce Order Management or in any external order management system.
Delete Redundant Prices from Read-Only Price Books in B2C Commerce: After you switch to read-only price books, delete the matching prices left in the old storage system to speed up price book replication. The read-only price books already store those prices in the new system.
Instances: A B2C Commerce instance contains the tools and resources for customizing storefronts. Access an instance through your browser, or use Business Manager.
B2C Commerce Tools: If you have the correct permissions assigned to you, you can access the B2C Commerce tools. To access B2C Commerce tools, click App Launcher or press Command+k (macOS) or Ctrl+k (Windows), and move between the tools.
Denial-of-Service Protection in B2C Commerce: In a denial-of-service (DoS) attack, the attacker attempts to deny computer resources to a network’s users. Attackers usually accomplish this by overwhelming the target computer system’s resources with unauthorized requests, which prevent valid users from accessing the network.
Configure DKIM for B2C Commerce: Major email providers, including Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo, now require DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) authentication. Configuring DKIM is essential to ensure that your emails reach customer inboxes and aren’t rejected or flagged as spam. Configure DKIM to verify that the emails come from the domain that they claim to be from.
Deploy an Effective A/B Test Experience in B2C Commerce: When you’ve identified a slot configuration, promotion, or sorting rule that produces the results you want, deploy the experience directly to your application using a campaign.
Determine How to Block Attacks in B2C Commerce: While Salesforce B2C Commerce provides security protections, customers are responsible for configuring security controls and for not removing security controls that are enabled by default. You must consider all of these aspects to maintain the security of your B2C Commerce instance.
Authentication and Authorization Best Practices in B2C Commerce: Exploitation of access control vulnerabilities is a core skill of attackers. To protect against the attackers, enforce server-side access control checks for business functions such as account management, order management, and purchasing.
URL Syntax Without SEO: To see the standard B2C Commerce URLs without search engine optimization, make sure that the URL Rules module is disabled.
Disable HSTS for an eCDN Zone: Disabling HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) for a B2C Commerce eCDN zone is a two-step process. You first let shoppers access your site over an insecure connection by setting the max age to 0, and then you stop your site from sending the HSTS header.
Discount on a Product Option in B2C Commerce: To offer a discount for a product option, use a percent off promotion. Because options are never sold alone, but always as part of a product, first identify the products with the options that receive the discount. For example, Get 50% off on the glossy paper option (usually a $2.99 upgrade).
DNS Mapping for eCDN Zones in B2C Commerce: To route a hostname's traffic through its embedded CDN (eCDN) zone, map DNS from your provider to the zone and validate the zone's SSL certificate. Understand the mapping rules, validation methods, and certificate limits before you add or update a certificate.
Download Logs with Logpull: Use Logpull to download recent eCDN request logs for a zone on your B2C Commerce storefront on demand. Logs are available for the past 7 days only.
Download Active Data on Production: If active data is enabled for your B2C Commerce site, all data is accumulated from your Production instance and automatically imported into your Production and Staging instances.
Download Change History Logs: Download the Change History Logs from the B2C Commerce archive system. Change History log files are purged after 30 days.
Categorization Rule Sets for B2C Commerce: Categorization rule sets automatically assign products to specific categories. To create a rule set, use attributes, operators, and values to define the conditions a product has to meet to be included in a particular category.
Dynamic Customer Group Rules in B2C Commerce: A dynamic customer group has exactly one rule with one or more conditions. A condition is an individual line in the editor, for example, Company equals ‘Salesforce’.
Dynamic Mappings for B2C Commerce: Configure dynamic mapping rules that use a pattern to identify a URL from your legacy site and automatically redirect it to a B2C Commerce URL. It isn't possible to use mapping rules to redirect an existing or obsolete B2C Commerce URL to a different B2C Commerce URL, nor is it possible to create redirects for static resources like images.
Configure a Host Header Override Rule for an eCDN Zone: To support a single hostname across multiple realms, create a Host Header Override Rule for B2C Commerce sites that use an external content delivery network (CDN). This rule replaces unique hostnames with a common hostname to maintain the single-hostname setup. If you reuse a hostname, traffic can be unintentionally served from a different realm.
Create a Rate Limiting Rule for an eCDN Zone: Configure a rate limiting rule to specify rate limits for requests that match a particular expression and then perform an action when requests reach those rate limits. Rate limiting rules improve B2C Commerce storefront availability, target specific traffic patterns and combat threats, such as bots.
eCDN Cache Rules and Cache Purge: Cache rules control which content is eligible for caching at the eCDN edge, and cache purge selectively invalidates cached content by tag or path. Both capabilities are available in Business Manager for your B2C Commerce storefront.
eCDN Caching and Cache Fingerprinting: B2C Commerce eCDN caches static storefront content on edge servers, which are servers located close to your shoppers, and refreshes it automatically using a fingerprint value in each content asset's URL. Understand how caching and fingerprinting work before you clear the cache or add cache rules for dynamic content.
eCDN Logpush Destination Settings: Required and optional fields for each eCDN Logpush destination type on your B2C Commerce storefront: Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Datadog, and Splunk.
eCDN Zone Security Rules: Use the Security Rules tab on the Configure Zone screen to protect a B2C Commerce embedded CDN (eCDN) zone with web application firewall (WAF) managed rulesets, realm and zone security rules, custom firewall rules, and rate limiting. Learn what each control does, which zone types are eligible, and how traffic from trusted sources bypasses security checks.
Edit Alert Settings for B2C Commerce: An individual user can change the priority of an alert or prevent it from appearing on their homepage or header. This only impacts the notifications for that user.
Edit or Delete Coupon Codes for B2C Commerce: Edit or delete coupon codes on the Coupon Codes page. With the correct permissions, you can view all coupon codes. Otherwise, they're masked. If you delete a coupon from a promotion, the coupon is labeled "missing".
Edit Multiple Products: Use B2C Commerce Business Manager to edit multiple products. Update or delete product attributes or reassign products to a category, copy or delete products, and modify prices.
Edit Product Details: Use B2C Commerce Business Manager to edit the product details for an individual product.
Edit a Catalog: Edit an individual B2C Commerce catalog or delete catalogs.

B2C Commerce Einstein Insights: B2C Commerce Einstein Commerce Insights reports capture shopper, order, and product data and display products that are most commonly purchased together.
B2C Commerce Einstein Consent Management: With every click, Einstein collects shopper browsing events and updates the shopper’s predictive model in real time to calculate the most relevant experiences for the shopper.
How Consent Management Works: Einstein uses a specific do-not-track cookie to limit tracking for B2C Commerce shoppers who prefer to not be tracked.
Einstein Dashboard: Use the B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Einstein Dashboard to review the performance of Einstein recommendations. The data can help you develop recommendation strategies that increase conversion and revenue.
Share B2C Commerce Einstein Data: B2C Commerce Einstein Search Dictionaries is the only Einstein feature that enables you to share feature-specific data across the B2C Commerce merchant community.
Einstein Data Usage by Feature: As an Einstein customer, it is important for you to know what data is being used in B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce products. This table lists the data that is used by each feature.
What Is B2C Commerce Einstein?: Salesforce B2C Commerce Einstein is a suite of artificial intelligence-powered merchandising tools.
B2C Commerce Einstein Predictive Sort: Predictive Sort combines the existing B2C Commerce B2C Commerce Sorting Rule approach with the power of B2C Commerce Einstein.
B2C Commerce Einstein Recommendation Validator: The Einstein Recommendation Validator is a Chrome extension that validates and debugs B2C Commerce Einstein recommendations and sorting rules in your marketplace. Use this extension to verify Einstein site activity tracking and recommendations.
B2C Commerce Einstein Search Dictionaries: When enabled, Einstein Search Dictionaries consumes all site searches and search-related settings, and surfaces terms that shoppers search for but aren’t in a dictionary.
Einstein Search Dictionaries: Using Einstein Search Dictionaries can enhance the B2C Commerce shopper search experience by providing more relevant and robust search results.
How B2C Commerce Einstein Search Dictionaries Works: Einstein Search Dictionaries automatically detects relationships between search terms and recommends which synonym list to assign them to, driving better search experiences for the shopper.
B2C Commerce Einstein Search Recommendations: B2C Commerce Einstein can improve searches with type-ahead guidance. This feature provides AI-driven personalized search recommendations to shoppers in real time.
B2C Commerce Einstein Status Dashboard: Use the Einstein Status Dashboard to schedule and run storefront catalog and order feeds, enabling the activation of B2C Commerce Einstein features on the site.
B2C Commerce Einstein Self-Service Support: The B2C Commerce Einstein Status Dashboard provides catalog and order deployment status and the ability to verify the quality of your data. The dashboard also displays any errors and warnings encountered by B2C Commerce Einstein about catalogs, orders, recommendations, or deployment.
B2C Commerce Einstein Product Recommendations: Use Einstein Product Recommendations to create and manage recommenders and assign strategies that predict the most relevant products to promote to individual shoppers.
Validator Responses in B2C Commerce Einstein: When you navigate to a site that's using B2C Commerce Einstein features, Validator instantly validates recommendation activities and sorting rules. The tool then provides particular responses, based on the activity it registers.
Embedded CDN: Salesforce B2C Commerce includes an embedded content delivery network (eCDN) that serves content from locations close to your shoppers for fast response times. eCDN also absorbs high or sudden increases in traffic, so your sites stay fast and responsive as demand grows.
Embedded CDN Overview: Salesforce B2C Commerce includes an embedded content delivery network (eCDN) that accelerates site performance and content delivery. The eCDN serves content from locations close to your shoppers for fast response times, and supports web application firewall (WAF) and HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS).
Enable Searching for a Page Designer Page: Make a B2C Commerce Page Designer page discoverable in storefront site search. In Page Settings, mark the page searchable, add it to the sitemap, and assign search keywords so customers find it when they search your storefront.
Enable Shop the Store: Enable Shop the Store for up to ten B2C stores. With this feature, shoppers can search in-store inventory online. Either import store inventory lists or integrate with Omnichannel. Shoppers can then browse store-specific inventory and conveniently pick-up purchases from a preferred location.
Enable Under Attack Mode for an eCDN Zone: Turn on Under Attack Mode from the Configure Zone screen in Business Manager to present a challenge to every visitor to your B2C Commerce storefront during an active DDoS attack. Use it only as a last resort.
Enable Visual Merchandising for a User Profile: To enable B2C Commerce Visual Merchandising for users in your company, add Visual Merchandising and Global Custom Preferences to the appropriate roles. After you enable it, select Merchant Tools to see Visual Merchandising in the left navigation panel under Products and Categories.
Encryption and Cryptography in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce extends Salesforce-maintained cryptography libraries that enable you to safely encrypt, sign, and generate cryptographically strong tokens and secure random identifiers. Salesforce maintains industry standard compliance frameworks as noted on the B2C Commerce page on Salesforce’s Trust Compliance website.
Enforce HTTPS for B2C Commerce: Enable the Enforce HTTPS setting to redirect incoming page requests that use HTTP to HTTPS. Configure the setting per site or for all sites of an instance. When you enable Enforce HTTPS globally, you can't configure it at the site level. If you disable the global preference, the site-specific settings return to their previous values.
Site Speed Enhancements for eCDN Zones: Want your customers to love their online shopping experience? Speed up your web store. These speed optimization features help your B2C Commerce storefront load faster, so customers spend less time waiting and more time browsing.
SEO Evaluation for B2C Commerce: There are various easy-to-use, low-cost (or free) tools on the Internet that can help provide you with a sense of how well your site is prepared for SEO. However, quantity doesn’t equal quality: in the end SEO is about driving qualified traffic that results in conversions.
Common HTTP Headers for B2C Commerce Events: Every B2C Commerce event includes the same set of standard x-sf-cc-* headers, so your connector can identify and correlate events consistently regardless of the event type.
Custom Events: Declare your own B2C Commerce event types in a cartridge and send them from script. Custom events appear in Business Manager with platform events, and you route them to the same connectors.
Order Placed Event: B2C Commerce fires an order placed event when an order reaches a placed state and the placement transaction commits. The webhook body is the order representation from the Orders API, and you can route the event by site.
Process-Level Replication Events: Process-level replication events fire when a B2C Commerce replication process reaches a terminal state. Use them to track when bulk replication jobs complete or fail.
Replication Error States: Failed B2C Commerce process-level replication events (sf.cc.replication.failed) include an errorState field with a machine-readable code that identifies the failure. Use this page to look up what an error state means.
Granular Replication Events: The B2C Commerce system fires granular replication events when the granular replication job completes, partially fails, or fully fails. Granular replication operates at the per-object level (products, price tables, content assets) rather than the bulk replication-process level, so its events report which individual object IDs succeeded and which failed.
Replication Group IDs: Replication events carry one or more B2C Commerce replication groups in their payload. Each replication group identifies a unit of data that participated in the replication. Use this page to look up what a given group ID covers.
Shopper Registered Event: The system fires a B2C Commerce shopper registered event when a new customer profile is successfully created and committed. This event contains core customer information needed by external systems. Unlike replication events, which operate at the organization level, the shopper registered event is site-specific, so you can register and route it independently per site.
B2C Commerce Event Types Reference: Find the event you want to subscribe to. Each row links to the page that documents the headers, payload, and example for that event.
Exclude a Product from a Categorization Rule Set: B2C Commerce categorization rules automatically assign products to categories based on specific attributes, operators, and values. However, you can exclude products from your categorization rules.
Category Name Exclusions: Excluded category names aren't indexed as keywords for the product in B2C Commerce and aren't included in search phrase suggestions. This is useful for combination categories with subcategories with distinct products.
Exclude Unavailable Products from Search Results: Use the B2C Commerce Search module to exclude unavailable products from search results in the storefront at the site level and at the product level. This avoids showing customers products they can't purchase.
Explicit Recommendations: Create explicit relationships between recommendation sources and recommendation targets in B2C Commerce.
Export Your Catalog as a CSV File: A CSV file provides B2C Commerce merchandisers with an easy to read and edit view of their exported catalogs.
Express Checkout Considerations for B2C Commerce: Although Express Checkout is often faster and easier to use than the Checkout payment method, features such as coupons, gift wrapping, shopper product customization, and gift card redemption aren’t always a good fit for Express Checkout.
Fail Securely: Fail securely means implementing decision logic that puts B2C Commerce systems into a secure state when errors occur. Handling errors securely ensures that the error path, such as exceptions, doesn’t disclose additional information that wouldn’t be available otherwise. Attackers can use this additional information to learn how to attack the system.
eCDN Step in Storefront Fast Setup: The Storefront Next Fast Setup workflow in Business Manager for B2C Commerce automatically provisions an eCDN Default Domain zone as part of storefront creation via the SetupEcdnForStorefront job step.
File Formats in B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce only accepts XML import files that conform to B2C Commerce schema files. Older versions of B2C Commerce allowed preprocessing of comma-separated value (CSV) files, but B2C Commerce no longer supports this feature.
Find Orders: After an order is created in the storefront, view order details in Business Manager. Search using simple or advanced search parameters, or search by multiple order numbers. B2C Commerce performs full text case-insensitive search.
Follow the Principle of Least Privilege: The principle of least privilege is a core zero trust concept. Implementing least privilege means that you give users, applications, B2C Commerce systems, and other components only the minimum privilege level required to do their job.
Fully Additive and Semi-Additive Meausres: The B2C Commerce Data subject area tables list for each subject matter area the fully additive and semi-additive measures included in the subject area set. Dimensions don't work with a semi-additive measure appear as Incompatible.
General Secure Coding Practices in B2C Commerce: Even with all the security controls that Salesforce B2C Commerce provides, poor coding practices can negate these controls and introduce weaknesses. Refer to the OWASP Secure Coding Practices - Quick Reference Guide for general recommendations.
General Security Best Practices in B2C Commerce: At Salesforce, we understand that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your data is vital to your business. We want you to implement maximum protection for your sites against security threats and recommend using the following core best practices as you set up your Salesforce B2C Commerce environments.
Generate a Private-Public Key Pair: DKIM authentication requires you to specify a private key in Business Manager in B2C Commerce. Generate a private key in a terminal with these commands.
Generate a Robots.txt File with Business Manager for B2C Commerce: To create a robots.txt for one or more sites individually, use Business Manager. This robots.txt file is served to any requesting crawlers from the application server. It's stored as a site preference and can be replicated from one instance to another.
Generate Search Indexes: In B2C Commerce Business Manager you can create stop words and synonyms, modify guided search ranking, view statistics, view index documents along with their indexed fields, and rebuild indexes. You can also manage the capabilities of full text search indexes.
Generate Sitemaps in B2C Commerce: Sitemaps are a standardized way to tell search engines about pages on your site that they can otherwise miss during their normal crawling process.
Generic Mapping in B2C Commerce: Use the generic mapping capability to map keys to values, with the mapping stored in a high-performance data store. Generic mapping supports large datasets, with high performance for lookup.
Get Started with B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce is a comprehensive Enterprise commerce platform designed to help you set up and manage online storefronts that sell directly to shoppers. The platform includes merchandising tools that enable you to showcase your products and drive sales. B2C Commerce offers data-driven insights that help you convert customers and achieve your sales goals. The platform comes with out-of-the-box templates that allow you to create feature-rich, localized storefronts that accurately represent your brand and cater to your target audience. Agentforce for Commerce provides a fully secure conversational commerce experience.
Gift Certificate Site Preferences for B2C Commerce: Set the site preferences that control gift certificate emails and exports in Business Manager, including the sender name and email, the ISML email template, whether certificate codes are masked, and whether the merchant ID is exported.
Gift Certificates: Create gift card certificates for shoppers to use on your storefront. Shoppers can purchase a gift certificate and email it to a recipient of their choice, redeem a gift certificate as a method of payment, and check a gift certificate balance. Create gift cards, report on gift certificate statistics, and import and export gift certificates. You can also process gift cards programmatically. See B2C Commerce API documentation for more information.
Products Gift Certificate Dashboard: Use the Gift Certificate dashboard to analyze how your B2C Commerce site generates revenue through gift certificate sales.
Global Preferences for B2C Commerce: Configure global preferences for the entire organization, and sometimes, override those preferences at the site level. Global preferences include setting the time zone, locale, and sequence numbers for a site.
Globally Excluded Products: Globally exclude B2C Commerce products from all promotions, without configuring excluded products for every promotion. To qualify globally excluded products for a specific promotion, set the Disable Global Excluded Product flag. Global exclusions are enabled by default for new promotions.
Gross Merchandise Value: The Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) report provides GMV metrics of all B2C Commerce transactions for goods and services in a calendar month.
Product Feed Field Reference for Google: Reference information for the product feed fields used with Google, including required fields, optional fields, and their default mappings to B2C Commerce attributes.
Turn On the Product Feed for Google: Turn on the daily sync to start generating and uploading your B2C Commerce product feed to Google. Before you turn on the daily sync, rigorously review the default field mappings and make any overrides.
Configure Product Feed General Settings for Google: On the General Settings tab, enter the SFTP credentials that Google Merchant Center provides to connect your store. Optionally, set global overrides for the price and image columns that apply to every row in your feed.
Map Product Fields for Google: Configure how B2C Commerce product attributes map to Google feed fields using the field mapping interface.
Catalog Feed Integration with Google: Syndicate your B2C Commerce product catalog to Google for product discovery, enabling shoppers to find your products in Google Shopping ads and free listings.
Grant Admin Access to Shopper Profile Sync Fields: B2C Commerce Shopper Profile Sync writes to several system-controlled fields on person account and contact records. These fields are not editable by administrators under normal conditions. To support migration, a temporary permission is available that allows an admin to modify them.
Granular Data Replication: Granular Replication is meant to complement and enhance existing B2C Commerce data replications, and not replace it.
Main Dashboard: The B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Home dashboard shows a quick snapshot of key operating metrics including revenue, orders, products, and promotions.
Hostname Aliases for B2C Commerce: A hostname alias defines alternative names for an existing website URL. You must set up and register the DNS and domain names to use hostnames aliases in a B2C store. A hostname alias can map a human-readable hostname onto a more technical hostname. A hostname alias can also redirect one external, human-readable domain to another, such as www.mystore.com to www.yourstore.com.
How B2C Commerce Assigns Page URLs: B2C Commerce provides several layers of inheritance URL attribute values that you can set through page-specific values, category values, or default values.
Explicit Search Rank and Search Placement: B2C Commerce Explicit Search Rank and Placement allow you to promote a group of products and indicate the relevance of a particular product within a category.
How Notification Channels Respond to Alert States: How a notification channel in B2C Commerce responds to an alert is based on the alert state. An anomaly detection alert fires once when an anomaly is detected and doesn’t track whether a condition persists or is cleared.
How Sorting Rules Work: B2C Commerce Sorting rules enable you to control the presentation of search results to the customer. Use sorting rules to bring products to the attention of customers by having them appear at the top of search results. Use any attribute to sort search results or a weighted blend of multiple attributes. To blend multiple attributes, create dynamic attributes.
HTTPS / TLS in B2C Commerce: In HTTPS, the communication protocol is encrypted using transport layer security (TLS) or its predecessor, secure sockets layer (SSL). The protocol is also often referred to as HTTP over TLS, or HTTP over SSL.
B2C Commerce Hyperforce FAQ: Salesforce B2C Commerce infrastructure is getting an upgrade. It’s migrating from Salesforce first-party data centers to Salesforce Hyperforce, the next-generation cloud infrastructure platform powered by public cloud technologies.
Hypernyms and Hyponyms: A hypernym is a broad term for a group of B2C Commerce products. A hyponym is a term for an item in the group that the hypernym describes. A hypernym returns the results of all of its hyponyms, but the hyponyms only return their own results. Exclude specific hypernyms using negative hypernyms.
Image Management in B2C Commerce: Before you assign product images in B2C Commerce, learn the terms, limits, and catalog location. Then choose the topic for assigning images, catalog settings, view types, swatches, alt text, storage, or a size, crop, or format.
B2C Commerce Dynamic Imaging Service: Use the B2C Commerce Dynamic Imaging Service when storefront code requests a specific image size, crop, or format, and assign the source image in Business Manager. Transformation details are in the B2C Commerce developer guide.
Import and Export in B2C Commerce: The B2C Commerce application environment is designed to facilitate backend integration. You can import data from other systems into the B2C Commerce environment and export B2C Commerce data to backend systems.
Import Boost and Bury Rules: Use search import and export to create, update, or replace boost and bury rules in bulk on your B2C Commerce storefront.
Import/Export Analytics and Reporting in B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce reports on import and export processes via the Reports & Dashboards Technical dashboard, system logs, and import and export logs. System logs provide general information about the system and APIs. Import and export logs, in contrast, provide information that is specific to import/export processes (whether through Business Manager or via pipelets).
Import/Export Checklist in B2C Commerce: We provide a checklist for the tasks you must perform to create and maintain import and export feeds for your sites.
Import/Export Error Handling in B2C Commerce: All import, export, and validation processes create log files. Log files are accessible through WebDAV on the import and export share in your cartridge.
Import and Export Transaction Handling and Feed Size in B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce designs standard imports to handle feeds of arbitrary sizes. As with every transactional system, the size of a transaction is bounded. Standard behavior for imports that 's triggered through the Business Manager and triggered when you execute an import pipelet, is to commit after each object.
Import Localization in B2C Commerce: Across all B2C Commerce import feeds, B2C Commerce processes xml:lang attributes for all localizable elements the same way.
Import Modes in B2C Commerce: For import processes, specify an import mode to define how to interpret the data within a feed. Some modes aren’t supported for some object types. The import mode, defined for the import process, applies to all objects within the feed. Import modes apply to all import files defined by B2C Commerce schemas.
Import Active Data .csv Files: Import Active Data .csv files to use production active data on your B2C Commerce Sandbox instance or to test active data sorting rules. Download the daily active data feed from your Production instance and import it into your Sandbox.
Import an Inventory List: When using an external inventory system other than Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory, use B2C Commerce Business Manager to import inventory lists. Structure your inventory data files according to the Inventory.xsd schema.
Import and Export Price Books in B2C Commerce: Import a price book as either an editable or a read-only price book. A read-only price book takes less time to import but you can't edit it in Business Manager. The default is editable.
Import Feeds: To import active data into other B2C Commerce instances, upload it in the production instance and then import it into another instance.
Importing or Exporting SiteGenesis Data in B2C Commerce: The SiteGenesis application doesn't include import and export feed examples. However, if you run Site Import/Export (export) on the SiteGenesis data, the files exported are valid import files. These import files contain the SiteGenesis data.
Securely Incorporate Third-Party Apps: Storefront capabilities and selling online are Salesforce B2C Commerce's specialties. For other operations, third-party applications bring their expertise to your storefront platform, such as when processing online taxes, credit card payments, and shipping carriers. Using a third-party app created by people who focus exclusively on specific processes is one of the factors that makes B2C Commerce so flexible.
Incremental Indexing: B2C Commerce indexes can be configured to rebuild incrementally, when product or category assignments are updated or on a schedule. If you enable incremental indexing for an index, then the index is automatically updated whenever a change is made to the products, content, or search configuration underlying the index. Changes to the index are available 30 seconds after a merchant makes a change. Incremental indexing can be enabled or disabled for each index type on each instance, but applies to all locales on the instance.
Index Creation: B2C Commerce search indexes use data from these indexes: Product, Spelling, Content, Synonym, Suggest, Availability, and Active data.
Install the Salesforce Payments Plug-In for a B2C Commerce Salesforce Reference Architecture (SFRA) Site: The Salesforce Payments plug-in supports multiple payment methods and third-party payment gateways, streamlining a shopper’s checkout experience. To set up the Salesforce Payments plug-in for a B2C Commerce Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) site, make sure you have access to the Salesforce B2C Commerce repositories on GitHub.
Data 360 for B2C Commerce Assets: When the Commerce data kit is intalled in Data 360, all Data 360 assets and data mappings are created. When you install the Intelligence Analytics dashboards, the data transforms run, ingesting Data 360 data and creating the CRM Analytics dashboards and components.
Intelligence Analytics Dashboards Powered by Data 360: Create custom dashboards that display key store performance metrics to help you make data-driven decisions for business agility, using the CRM Analytics (CRMA) entitlements you get with Commerce Cloud B2C Premium. With CRMA, you can also build dashboards to surface your best-performing categories and products, monitor inventory health across locations and location groups, or explore customer first-time and repeat purchase behavior to drive and retain loyalty.
Refresh Intelligence Analytics Dashboard Data: The Intelligence Analytics dashboards rely on up-to-date B2C Commerce data by regularly refreshing the data. The refresh includes running the data transforms and updating the datasets.
Introduction to Roles in B2C Commerce: In Business Manager, you can perform authentication to determine if the user is who they claim to be. You can also perform authorization to determine if the user has permission to perform the specific action they’re attempting.
Invalidate the Static Cache: To enforce protection on your B2C Commerce site, invalidate the static content cache. Otherwise unprotected content that was already delivered is valid until it expires. If you change the password, invalidate the static content cache to enforce the use of the new password.
Inventory Dashboard: Use the B2C Commerce Inventory Dashboard to tracks inventory movement, in the Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (OCI) service, by stock keeping unit (SKU). The metrics provide a view of your inventory that you can use to maintain inventory that meets customer demand.
Inventory Management: To manage storefront inventory data, connect B2C Commerce to an external inventory management system that serves as your system of record. Rely on the platform for basic tracking or integrate Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory to access advanced availability features. This integration makes sure of accurate stock levels and supports complex fulfillment scenarios.
Inventory Management Using Omnichannel Inventory: Integrating with Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory provides more powerful features for handling B2C Commerce inventory data and working with external management systems.
Configure Access Settings for B2C Commerce: Limit access based on IP addresses. If you don't provide an allowlist or blocklist, the feature isn't active and these settings have no effect.
JavaScript and Objects in HTML Attributes for B2C Commerce: For security reasons, only Business Manager users with strong authentication, such as through multi-factor authentication with Account Manager, can include JavaScript and objects embedded with iframe, object, applet, or embed tags in the HTML attributes of a database object.
Jobs for B2C Commerce: Jobs automate routine tasks or long-running processes, such as importing and exporting data, replicating data or code, or building a search index. Jobs can use preconfigured system steps, or a developer can create custom job steps. Run jobs manually as needed or schedule them to run at a specific time or on a recurring basis.
Job Flows: A flow controls the sequence in which B2C Commerce executes job steps. Every job must contain at least one flow. Each flow must contain at least one step.
Honor Job Hostnames in Image URL Generation: In a job context, such as a catalog export, B2C Commerce can generate image URLs that use the job hostnames from your site's aliases file. These URLs match your other job-generated URLs, so you don't need custom code to correct the hostname.
Managing Jobs: After you create jobs, use B2C Commerce Business Manager to manage them.
JSON-LD Examples by Scope: Use these B2C Commerce JSON-LD templates as starting points for each page meta tag scope.
JSON-LD (JSON for Linked Data) Tags: With JSON-LD, you can embed structured product and page data in a B2C Commerce page. Search engines and AI answer engines, such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, can then read facts such as product name, price, and availability directly, instead of inferring them from the page's HTML. Structured data improves organic discoverability, supports answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO), and can enable rich results such as product cards and breadcrumbs.
Keyword Searches for B2C Commerce: Keyword searching is how most customers use your storefront to find the products they’re interested in buying. To create a large and accurate search index, specify the searchable product attributes and configure relationships using search dictionaries. When an item is searched for, B2C Commerce runs through a search process, gathers the results, and applies a sorting rule that defines how to display the respective results.
Keyword Search in Log Center: Use keyword search in B2C Commerce Log Center to find the logs that contain certain terms. When you enter text or an ID in the text message, the search looks several places. It looks in the text message, activity ID, category name, thread name, and message stack trace. When you click the Search icon, the results appear in a list. The severity panel to the left shows the number of issues per severity that contain the text or ID. If the severity is selected as a filter on the left side, the keyword/ID search is restricted to a particular severity.
Launch the Tableau Connector: From the Tableau desktop application, launch the connector as a web data connector to connect B2C Commerce data to Tableau.
Configure Proxy Zone Settings: After you migrate a B2C Commerce legacy zone to a proxy zone, most settings transfer automatically. Manually copy the two settings that don't transfer, Logpush and rate limiting rules, from the legacy zone to the new proxy zone.
Create a Custom Hostname with a Custom Certificate: When you migrate a legacy zone to a proxy zone, a certificate is automatically created with the validation method set to "http". If you need a different validation method, delete the generated certificate and add a custom one. Create the custom certificate in Business Manager for B2C Commerce or use the addCertificateForZone API.
Delete a Legacy Zone: After you move all subdomains from the B2C Commerce legacy zone to the proxy zone, delete the legacy zone with the Remove Zone option. This is the final step of the proxy zone migration.
Legacy Jobs: We recommend that you use the new job framework to create and manage jobs, but the legacy, deprecated functionality is also available in B2C Commerce Business Manager.
Migrate a Legacy Zone to a Proxy Zone: Start the migration of a B2C Commerce legacy zone to a proxy zone in Business Manager or with the CDN-API. Proxy zones use standard eCDN configuration and the latest security features and prevent common hierarchy-assignment issues. This migration is required to move to Hyperforce, which doesn't support legacy zones.
Update Authoritative DNS: Point your B2C Commerce storefront's DNS records at the new proxy zone. Get the DNS CNAME record value from the getZonesInfo name property or from Business Manager, and then update the record with your authoritative DNS provider.
Limit Storefront Order Access: Unauthorized access to B2C Commerce storefront orders happens when someone accesses an order through a storefront session using a different customer ID than the one used to create it. This makes it possible for unauthorized users to view the order’s details.
Line Item Tax Basis: Configure an alternative tax calculation for line items in an order with the B2C Commerce APIs (LineItem.updateTax ()) and Business Manager. This feature can be useful if your back-end systems can only handle product-level discounts but a line item requires you to prorate tax across an order.
Link Salesforce Payments for B2C Commerce with Salesforce Order Management: To integrate your existing B2C Commerce merchant account with Salesforce Order Management, first link your B2C merchant account to a merchant account and a Payment Gateway record for Salesforce Payments on the core Salesforce platform. The same Stripe or PayPal account you established for your B2C merchant account gets linked to the new records on the core platform.
Link Products: Use the Links tab in the B2C Commerce Product Editor to create links between products. Link from or to products.
Export Localizable Elements Using Folders for Page Designer: To speed up your localization process, define pages in need of bulk translation. There are multiple ways to do this, such as by manually creating a file containing the page IDs in JSON string format. The simplest method is to assign pages to a dedicated content folder through B2C Commerce Business Manager.
Manage Localization for a Page Designer Page: When adding a page in Page Designer, create it in your base language, typically your default locale. When you create the page, Page Designer adds a variation for each locale in the fallback hierarchy defined in B2C Commerce Business Manager. Then use the page variations to localize components for each locale as needed.
Log Center: Log Center is a B2C Commerce application that you can use to view realm logs messages generated from system and custom code. From Log Center, you can access all your tenant realm logs for primary instance groups (PIGs) and secondary instance groups (SIGs). View the Log Center dashboard, search for logs, set up log streaming, and view Control Center audit events. If you have Admin permissions, you can configure log levels and volumes.
Log Center Alerts in B2C Commerce: Monitor custom alerts across all Log Center data sources from a centralized interface. Configure notifications to identify application performance degradations before they affect your users, and route alerts via email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and PagerDuty to help your teams respond to critical system events.
Log Center Configuration: Adjust how B2C Commerce Log Center presents results and how administrators control logging. Switch between detailed and compact display views, and use the Config tab to set dynamic log levels, manage per-realm log volumes, and delete loaner-realm logs.
Log Center Dashboard: The Log Center dashboard shows request traffic, the busiest requests, and recurring stack traces for one realm and instance over a selected time range.
Log Center Search: Use B2C Commerce Log Center to search logs with custom searches. You configure a search with query filters from categories such as period, message severity, issue type, key words, specific text, and other attributes.
Log Streaming for Enhanced Monitoring: Log Center supports log streaming to third-party monitoring and analytics tools. You can also stream logs using a generic HTTP connection. With these tools, Log Center users get enterprise-scale monitoring and automation capabilities. All B2C Commerce Log Center customers get log streaming at no additional cost.
Make Security Usable: A difficult-to-use security feature is one that's turned off. Write security features in a way that makes them easy for B2C Commerce users to understand. To help users understand the security decisions they make, give them visibility into and control of their security settings.
Manage Anomaly Detectors in Log Center: View, edit, pause, resume, and delete anomaly detectors in B2C Commerce Log Center, and create a detector from a log search you already ran. What you can change depends on your Log Center role and the realms you can access.
Manage Catalogs: Use B2C Commerce Business Manager to create, and edit catalogs, and assign catalogs to sites.
Manage Component Visibility on Product List and Product Detail Template Page Designer Pages: On a B2C Commerce Page Designer Product List or Product Detail template page that uses category as its dynamic attribute, you can configure which components appear on a page based on the category being rendered. For example, specify that a certain component appears when the category is women’s clothes and a different component appears when the category is electronics.
Manage Custom Caches Using Business Manager: You enable or disable caching, monitor custom cache statistics, and clear caches for your B2C Commerce storefront, all from the Custom Caches page.
Manage Logpush Jobs: Pause, edit, or delete the eCDN Logpush jobs configured for a zone on your B2C Commerce storefront. The Logpush table on the Logs tab lists every job configured for the zone, with a header counter such as Logpush (2) and You have used 2 out of 2 Logpush jobs.
Manage Notification Rules: Pause, resume, edit, or delete the eCDN notification rules that target a zone on your B2C Commerce storefront. The Notifications table shows every rule that targets the current zone, along with the destination it delivers to, the full zone list, and an Enabled toggle.
HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) for eCDN: HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) secures your B2C Commerce site by instructing web browsers to access your domain using only HTTPS, which prevents downgrade attacks. You enable and disable HSTS per eCDN zone in Business Manager.
Upload and Manage Files in the Content Library for Page Designer: Use the Media Manager to manage files in your content library. These files are available to you as you create B2C Commerce Page Designer pages. (Available in the 24.4 release) you can add up to 1000 images per folder.
Manage Product Category Assignments: For the product to be visible in the B2C Commerce storefront, you assign the product to a category. You assign the category to a catalog, and assign the catalog to a site.
Manage Search Dictionaries: Create and manage all your personalized B2C Commerce Search Dictionary entries.
Manage SSL Certificates for eCDN Zones in B2C Commerce: Every embedded CDN (eCDN) zone requires a valid SSL certificate. Proxy zones can use either an eCDN managed certificate that's issued and auto-renewed by Salesforce or a self-managed certificate that you upload and renew yourself in Business Manager before it expires. Legacy (root) zones, for example, brand.com, support only a self-managed certificate. After adding or updating a certificate, map DNS so the hostname's traffic routes to its eCDN zone.
Manage IP Address Lists for eCDN Zones: Create named lists of trusted IP addresses or CIDR ranges to use with custom firewall rules that bypass security checks for trusted traffic on your B2C Commerce storefront.
Managing Attributes via a Backend System in B2C Commerce: If you use a backend catalog management system to define attribute data or new product attributes, use catalog import to import new product attribute definitions into B2C Commerce. Also make sure that attributes managed via the backend system can't be edited in Business Manager.
Manage Credit and Debit Cards in B2C Commerce: Use Business Manager to create and manage your credit and debit cards. The default credit and debit cards include: Visa, Master (Master Card), Discover, Diners Club (Diners Club International).

Rule Fields in B2C Commerce Einstein: You use rule fields to define rules. Some rule fields appear only for certain recommenders, and other rule fields appear for all recommenders.
B2C Commerce Einstein Recommender Rules: Rules enable you to manipulate a list of recommended product IDs before the list is passed to the storefront at run time. Each rule contains an action, a field, and one or more field values (attributes).
B2C Commerce Einstein Recommender Types: A recommender type decides whether an anchor is required, what the anchor is, and determines the general use cases available for applying a recommender on your storefront.
B2C Commerce Einstein Recommenders: B2C Commerce Einstein has different types of product recommendations that you can place on specific pages.
Remove a Merchant Account from B2C Commerce: Remove a merchant account from your B2C Commerce instance to end the association between them. You can't remove a merchant account that serves as the default for a payment zone until you reassign that default to a different merchant account. After removal, B2C Commerce clears the account from all payment zones.
Remove a Subdomain from a Legacy Zone: After you migrate a subdomain to the proxy zone, remove it from the legacy zone and delete the old certificate so that the legacy certificate no longer shows on your B2C Commerce storefront.
Removing Outdated Objects in B2C Commerce: How you remove outdated objects depends on whether you enrich the data from your backend system with more attributes in Business Manager. It also depends on the type of business object you want to remove. B2C Commerce generally recommends creating feeds of objects to delete, imported using the DELETE mode, to safely remove all types of objects, regardless of whether they have enriched data or not.
Replication in B2C Commerce: Replication securely copies selected storefront data or a code version from a staging instance to a development or production instance on your Primary Instance Group (PIG). It’s a two-step procedure that first transfers the data or code version, then publishes the data or activates the code version.

Restriction of Processing: Restrict How to Process Personal Data in B2C Commerce: When situations require you to do so, prevent the processing of your customers’ data. We give guidance to help you restrict forms of data processing. That way, you can work toward complying with the laws that are important to your company.
Promotion Restrictions to Identical Products: The restrictions setting limits product selection to identical products. When you set restrictions for a B2C Commerce product promotion rule, you configure a single product promotion that can apply to multiple products.
Resubmit Orders to Order Management: If B2C Commerce failed to submit an order to Order Management, or a submitted order is missing information, you can manually resubmit it. You can only resubmit orders that are in Sending or Accepted status and have not yet been allocated.
Revert to the Legacy Campaigns User Interface: Beginning with B2C Commerce 26.7, a refreshed Campaigns UI is on by default. To revert to the legacy Campaigns UI, deselect Enable New Campaigns Screen.
Revert to the Previous A/B Test User Interface: Beginning with B2C Commerce release 26.7, refreshed A/B test pages in the UI are on by default. To switch back to the previous user interface, deselect a feature switch.
Review Granular Replication Status: Use the Granular Replication table to review past, ongoing, and upcoming granular replication jobs on your B2C Commerce site.
Roles and Permissions in B2C Commerce: We recommend limiting access to modules to only users who use the module. To restrict and grant access to modules, use roles and permissions. When properly configured, a user who logs into B2C Commerce sees only the modules required for their job. This eliminates confusion and increases the security of the organization.
Create and Download a GMV Report: Create a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) report for B2C Commerce in Business Manager. Select from four report types: Order Journal, GMV Report per Month, GMV Report per Day, and GMV per Order. B2C Commerce also automatically generates daily and monthly GMV reports on production instances. You can download a report you create or an auto-generated report to a comma-separated values (CSV) file that you can import into a spreadsheet.
Run Queries in the Search Index Query Testing Tool: Enter a search phrase to run a query in the B2C Commerce Search Index Query Testing tool to learn how each processor handles the phrase, the relevance score, and how the score is derived. Use the search index execution plan viewer to trigger the guided search parser with a phrase.

Starting with B2C Commerce 26.10, the Production instance includes a subset of eCDN security controls and analytics for this zone in Business Manager and the CDN API, with no support case required.
Promotion Schedules in B2C Commerce: Schedule campaigns, A/B tests, promotions, and content slots in B2C Commerce. A scheduled experience (promotion or content slot) has to coincide with a container (campaign or A/B test), or it can't run.
Job Flow Scope: Each flow has a scope, either the entire organization, all B2C Commerce storefront sites, specific storefront sites, or sites that you pass to the job at execution time using the Open Commerce API (OCAPI) data API. Some job steps, such as CreateSitemap, can execute only in the context of a site. Other job steps, such as ExecuteDataReplication, can execute only in the context of the organization. If you try to assign a job step to a flow that has a scope the step doesn't support, the step shows an error.
Searchandising - Availability Ranking: Availability Ranking describes an approach of merchandising in B2C Commerce using the functionality and power of an online product search, expanding the online merchandising activities of merchants to one of the most important tools in an online shop today, the product search. You can use availability ranking to manipulate the search results of a customer query to reflect what you want to highlight. For example, you might want to promote in-stock products, and push products with low stock levels to the end of the search results.
Search by ID: Search for a B2C Commerce product by ID.
Search Checklist for B2C Commerce: The search checklist contains the tasks that can be performed to customize search in B2C Commerce. Outside of the basic search setup, most of these are optional but recommended.

Search, Filter, and Sort B2C Commerce Coupons: If you have catalogs with many coupons, use search and filter to find coupons easily. Search and filter reduce which coupons appear, while sort changes the order of those results.
Search for Products in Grid View: Search for products within the current category in B2C Commerce and limit the grid view to only those products.
Search Indexes for B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce search indexes provide the data used to perform storefront searches. Expect to rebuild your indexes whenever you update product or content data, so that the data in the index is as current as possible.

This window appears only if your site implements the isobject Internet Store Markup Language (ISML) tag appropriately.
Search Refinement for B2C Commerce: With B2C Commerce, you can let customers refine a search using multiple attributes, such as price, promotion, category, or a product attribute. For example, let customers search for TVs based on-screen size, price and manufacturer, or to search for lenses based on zoom magnification, price, and manufacturer. This is useful if you have a large catalog and any particular customer is only looking for specific products. For example, on an apparel site, most customers are not interested in items that are not in their desired size or color.
Search Refinement Buckets: If you create a B2C Commerce search refinement without buckets, then every separate value for refinement appears. Without buckets, the number of separate values can easily become overwhelming for a user.
Search Suggestions: When a B2C Commerce shopper starts to enter a search term on the storefront, the storefront application shows terms that can help complete the search. Depending on the configuration, search suggestions can range from being a simple list of related terms to being more complex and providing extra details.
Search Term Completion: Use B2C Commerce to provide search suggestion capabilities in your storefront application. While customers are entering text into the storefront search box, suggestions appear, helping them to locate items faster.
Examine Search Results Using the Search Information Tool in B2C Commerce: The Search Information Tool provides information about how customer queries are processed, including information about hypernyms, compound words, synonyms, negative search terms, and stemming. The tool shows the sorting rule used to determine search results, the sorting criteria within the rule, and the sorting criteria values for each search result. The tool also shows if refinements are used to navigate to the search results and the text relevance for the search result.
Search Traces (Beta): Find traces for a B2C Commerce service over a selected time period, and narrow the results with filters.
Searchandising: Configure sorting rules to rank search results, based on an analysis of active data metrics. The sorted search results appear on your B2C Commerce storefront's result pages.

Secure Communications in B2C Commerce: Secure communications are crucial to prevent attackers from reading or changing sensitive information, for example, credit cards, personally identifiable information (PII), and credentials. Within Salesforce B2C Commerce, you can secure these interactions using the following secure protocols.
Secure Logging in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce logs are stored securely and are accessible only to users in the site_admin or developer roles. Logs are accessible via the web interface or over WebDAV. Consider this when you decide what types of information to log.
Secure Storage in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce stores many types of sensitive information, the most important being credit card details. Credit card encryption, key generation, and re-encryption are automatic, and merchants undergoing a PCI audit can monitor this process.
Security Settings for B2C Commerce: Configure Business Manager security settings. Configuring login settings only applies to accounts that haven't migrated to unified authentication. Unified authentication links the login of all Business Manager instances to the Account Manage login. As of 19.5, all new instances are linked to the Account Manager login.
Security Best Practices for Administrators in B2C Commerce: You can use Business Manager to secure your site and ensure a safe online shopping environment for your customers. Doing so also secures Business Manager and prevents attackers from removing the security controls you previously configured.

SEO Best Practices for B2C Commerce: Consider the following actions when optimizing your storefront for external search engines and AI-powered search and answer engines.
SEO & Discoverability for B2C Commerce: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) focuses on increasing non-paid search engine results for your site. Utilizing both creative and technical elements, you can improve search engine ranking and awareness, with the goal of driving more traffic to your site. External search engines (for example, Google) assign lower ranking to lengthy URLs with non-relevant keywords, multiple directory layers, and parameters.
SiteGenesis Server-Side Scripts: Server-side scripts in B2C Commerce SiteGenesis handle client-side requests. All scripts are CommonJA modules with defined exports.
Services Import/Export in B2C Commerce: The services.xsd schema file describes all web service profile and credential data. B2C Commerce encrypts credentials during a services export.
Set a Favicon.ico for a B2C Commerce Site: A favicon.ico in B2C Commerce, also known as a shortcut icon, website icon, tab icon, URL icon, or bookmark icon, is a file containing one or more small icons, associated with a particular website or web page. Use a favicon.ico to represent your site in the browser's address bar, next to the site's name in a list of bookmarks, and in the browser's tab.
Set a Category Alternative URL for B2C Commerce: The Alternate URL category attribute is a 200 internal link that you use to redirect shoppers to categories throughout your site. Merchandise a category one time, and use the category alternative URL attribute with other categories to redirect shoppers to the merchandised category from anywhere on your site.
Set Category Attributes for B2C Commerce: Category attributes are defined in the Category system object attributes definitions. Set category attributes so they’re appropriate for the products whose primary category assignment is the associated category.
Set the Customer Statement Descriptor for B2C Commerce: Customize the description that appears on a customer’s statement to identify the source of the charge, using a different description for each site in your realm. When shoppers recognize the charge, they’re less likely to file disputes or request chargebacks.
Set B2C Commerce Dashboard Filters: For B2C Commerce storefronts, you can set different filter combinations to review a select set of data in each dashboard. The default dashboard filter settings are blank, and the default reports reflect realm-level data.
Set the Order Allowlist: To improve the security and manageability of order access within your B2C Commerce storefront, Salesforce recommends enabling the AllowList feature within the Limit Storefront Order Access setting. This feature is useful if you haven’t yet implemented any restrictions on Storefront Order Access. After activating this feature, specify which controllers are permitted to access order information and execute order-related functions.
Set Product List Attributes: All HTML-based B2C Commerce product list views show the same set of columns in the same order. You can define up to five more columns that show product attributes.
Set the Tax Class Attribute Value: Set the attribute localizedTaxClassId attribute on the B2C Commerce Business Manager Product Detail page or use the catalog Import and Export process.
Set Up Anomaly Detectors in Log Center: Identify unusual log patterns in B2C Commerce Log Center and optionally send alerts when anomalies meet your alert threshold. Log Center continuously analyzes incoming log data and compares the data with learned baseline behavior. When data deviates from the baseline and meets your thresholds, Log Center flags the anomaly.
Set Up PCI Compliance Alerts: Get alerted when an eCDN Logpush job fails on a zone that carries PCI-scoped traffic for your B2C Commerce storefront. Wiring a notification rule to your SIEM or on-call tool lets you detect a stalled PCI log stream before the audit window expires.
Set Up eCDN Zones and Hostnames: Create embedded CDN (eCDN) zones and add the hostnames that route your Salesforce B2C Commerce storefront traffic through the CDN. Use Default Domain for a Salesforce-managed hostname, or add your own custom hostnames and site URL aliases.
Set Up Log Streaming to Third-Party Monitoring Tools: For enterprise-scale monitoring and automation, stream B2C Commerce logs to third-party analytics platforms, including Splunk, Datadog, Grafana Loki, New Relic, Dynatrace, SumoLogic, and AWS Elastic Cloud. You can also use a generic HTTP connection to stream logs to other tools.
Set Up Person Account Duplicate Rules for Shopper Profile Sync: The Shopper Profile Sync feature keeps all registered shoppers in sync between B2C Commerce and the connected Salesforce org. Use matching and duplicate rules in Salesforce to prevent duplicate person accounts when Shopper Profile Sync creates or updates shopper records.
Configure Single Sign-On to Enable Merchant Agent Features: For the Merchant Agent to work, the agent requires that you configure single sign-on (SSO) between B2C Commerce and Salesforce. Use Account Manager or Salesforce as the Identity Provider (IdP) to establish the trust relationship between the two applications.
Set Up User Access: A user with Account Manager administrator credentials grants user access the B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards portal.
Set Privacy Preferences for B2C Commerce: When shoppers visit a Salesforce B2C Commerce storefront, connected systems can collect and process their behavior and personal data to enhance the shopper experience. However, some shoppers can decide that they don’t want the merchant to collect their personal information.
Set Protection Flags and Assign Passwords: When you create a B2C Commerce site, there’s no password protection enabled by default. The administrator must set the protection flag and assign a password.
Set Search Preferences: The search preferences you configure control the behavior of the search feature for your B2C Commerce instance. These preferences can be exported.
Set Sitemap Attributes in B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce generates a sitemap that is compatible with the Sitemap Protocol 0.9 from Sitemaps.Org. Import sitemap attributes through a feed or add them manually in Business Manager. This page describes how to set them manually in the sitemap functionality. If the new sitemap feature is enabled on your instance, you can configure sitemap in the Sitemaps module.
Setting Up Active Data for Testing: Test active data sorting rules as an ongoing maintenance task. Other than A/B testing, most testing takes place either on a Staging or Sandbox instance. This is because the B2C Commerce Storefront Toolkit, used to examine search results, is available on Staging and Sandbox systems, but not on Production.
Set Up Salesforce Payments for B2C Commerce: Salesforce Payments is a native checkout solution that supports Adyen, Stripe, and PayPal payment gateways and multiple payment methods. Salesforce Payments is available in Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA), Composable Storefront, Storefront Next, and SiteGenesis.
Storefront Toolkit: The tools in the Storefront Toolkit help developers and merchants get information about B2C Commerce storefront content and performance. To access the Storefront Toolkit tools, select the site to view and then click Toolkit at the top of the navigation bar in Business Manager. The storefront opens with the Storefront Toolkit icons visible in the upper right corner of the page.
Test Promotions Using the Promotions Tracing Tool in B2C Commerce: Use the promotions tracing tool to test promotions before publishing them to the storefront. You can see which promotions are applicable for a particular cart. If a promotion isn’t applied to a cart, see the reasons why.
Share a Trace (Beta): Share a link to a specific B2C Commerce trace or search and filter selections with a colleague.
Shared Responsibility Model: B2C Commerce sites and platforms are attractive cyber attack targets. Cyber attackers look for locations where they can try to exfiltrate sensitive data, such as credit cards, personally identifiable information (PII), and credentials. The ordering workflow also offers an attractive attack surface for cybercriminals to try to enrich themselves. They can create fake orders, adjust coupons and promotions, and deny service to legitimate customers.
Shipping Promotions for B2C Commerce: Shipping promotions discount an order's shipping charges. A shipping promotion usually applies to every shipment in an order, unless you specify a maximum application for the promotion.
Shop the Store: Shop the Store refines search results based on your B2C store’s location and store-level inventory. Shoppers can select a store and start discovering products available at that location or look up a product and then refine their search using the location. Shoppers can filter the Product List Pages to search for products at a particular location using Shop the Store.
Add Custom Subagents and Custom Actions: The Shopper Agent subagents manage the transactional shopping experience. If you want a capability that isn't in the subagent template, create a custom one.
Collect B2C Commerce Shopper Agent Analytics for SFRA Storefronts: Track your Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) storefront revenue and orders directly attributed to your B2C Shopper Agent. Compare metrics with and without Shopper Agent involvement on the Home, Sales, Products, and Promotions pages. These metrics help you estimate the agent’s return on investment.
Agentforce Commerce Client for Messaging: The Agentforce Commerce Client is the storefront app that shoppers use to chat with the Shopper Agent. Install the Commerce Client for your B2C Commerce storefront.
B2C Shopper Agent Large Language Model Support: Understand supported large language models (LLMs) from multiple providers for embedded features, such as Prompt Builder, including Salesforce-managed models available out of the box. Learn how to bring your own model (BYOLLM) using AI Models (formerly Einstein Studio).
Escalate Issues from the Shopper Agent to a Representative (Optional): When a shopper has an issue that the agent can't resolve, the agent can pass the conversation to a service representative. Configure presence statuses, Omni-Channel flows, and the escalation subagent so that the handoff keeps the conversation and its context intact.
Create a SLAS Secret Key for SFRA Storefronts: SLAS is Salesforce B2C Commerce’s identity and token service for access to headless B2C Commerce APIs. For SFRA stores, create an external credential to store the shared secret key that SLAS uses to decrypt tokens sent from B2C Commerce.
B2C Shopper Agent | Cart Subagent: The Cart subagent manages the full cart lifecycle. This subagent adds products and variants, views the cart summary, updates lines, and applies promotion and coupon codes.
B2C Shopper Agent | Order Confirmation: The Order Confirmation subagent confirms that the shopper placed an order and shows the order details. It also recovers the cart after a payment fails or a payment method cancellation.
B2C Shopper Agent | Product Expert: Handles all product-related requests, such as browsing, searching, recommendations, comparisons, and product questions. It searches the catalog and looks up detailed product information as needed.
B2C Shopper Agent | Site FAQ Subagent: The Site FAQ subagent answers shopper questions about store policies, such as FAQs, shipping costs, return time frames, and refunds. It draws answers only from connected knowledge bases and returns a graceful response when it can't find a match.
Subagents for the B2C Shopper Agent: The subagents assigned to the B2C Shopper Agent define the capabilities of the agent. Each subagent manages one stage of the shopping journey, including product discovery, cart, order confirmation, FAQs, and safety checks.
Usage Types Consumed by the B2C Shopper Agent: The Shopper Agent uses generative AI and Data Cloud to ingest, store, and process data. You’re billed in these categories when you use the Shopper Agent. Before deployment, work with your Salesforce account team to confirm license availability and plan credit usage.
Shopper Authentication in B2C Commerce: Shoppers can register and create accounts on your storefront or they can remain anonymous. For example, to browse your storefront, shoppers aren’t required to log in to their account or even have an account. However, when a shopper creates an account, you now have their information, such as billing address, credit card, and previous orders. Authenticated shoppers can also access certain functionality that’s not available to anonymous shoppers, such as a gift registry and wishlist.
Shopper Journey Dashboard: Use the B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Shopper Journey dashboard to evaluate how shoppers move from site visit to order conversion. The dashboard is available as a selection on the Traffic tab.
B2C Shopper Agent Setup Considerations: Before setting up a Shopper Agent for B2C Commerce, consider supported functionality, usage, limitations and allowances, limits, and other issues.
Create a SLAS Client to Access Shopper APIs: To give the agent secure access to the Shopper APIs, create a Shopper Login and API Access Service (SLAS) client and secret. The agent uses the SLAS client and secret to obtain a SLAS token for authorized calls to the APIs.
Complete Prerequisites for Product and Site FAQ Data Libraries: To allow the B2C Commerce Shopper Agent to use Agentforce Data Libraries (ADLs), first set up the libraries with your source content. The Shopper Agent can use data libraries with uploaded files and Salesforce Knowledge articles.
Configure FAQs using Agentforce Data Libraries: To configure Site FAQs, use an Agentforce data library that contains files about your site. The B2C Shopper Agent can use multiple data libraries that contain files and knowledge articles.
Specify Data Libraries for Product and Site FAQs: Edit the B2C Commerce Shopper Agent FAQ subagent instructions to point to your data libraries. Configure the Product FAQs and Site FAQs subagents separately. These instructions assume that you have set up the data libraries with uploaded files and knowledge articles.
Shopper Agent Setup for Storefront Next or PWA Kit Storefronts: For the Shopper Agent to work with B2C Commerce Storefront Next or PWA Kit storefronts, set up Managed Runtime (MRT), which provides the infrastructure for your storefront. Set the correct environment variables in Managed Runtime for your deployed bundle.
Shopper Agent Setup for SFRA Storefronts: After you create a B2C shopper agent, and install the Agentforce Commerce Client, finish configuring the SFRA storefront settings for the Shopper Agent.
Test Your B2C Commerce Shopper Agent: Test your B2C Shopper Agent to make sure that it's configured correctly before you activate it. In Agentforce Builder, preview a typical shopper interaction, so you can review details of the agent's interactions and processes.
Show Orderable Products Only: Configure products so that only products that are available for order show in your B2C Commerce storefront search results.
Simple Search: Use the Simple Search to quickly find products in your B2C Commerce catalog.
Site Import/Export in B2C Commerce: The site.xsd schema file describes the structure of data that is exported from an instance to a zip file, or imported from a .zip file. The site.xsd file describes all site-related data and global, non-site-related data (that is, organization-level data, such as shipping methods).
Site Preferences in B2C Commerce: Use site preferences to control the behavior of individual Salesforce B2C Commerce sites. Configure various site preferences.
Site-Specific Content in B2C Commerce: When you use shared library content across your organization, you can, when necessary, keep some of your content assets site-specific.
Site-Specific Product Attributes: In B2C Commerce, products are defined at an organization level and can be shared across multiple catalogs and sites.
SiteGenesis Forms Modifications for Salesforce Payments: Forms can persist form data during a session and store it in system objects or custom objects. Localize the shippingaddress.xml forms to support PayPal on B2C Commerce SiteGenesis.
SiteGenesis Templates Modifications for Salesforce Payments: B2C Commerce uses Internet Store Markup Language (ISML) templates to generate dynamic storefront pages. An ISML template consists of standard HTML markup, ISML tags, and script expressions.
SiteGenesis Templates, Forms, and CSS for Salesforce Payments: Developers create Salesforce B2C Commerce storefront pages using Internet Store Markup Language (ISML) templates, CSS, and B2C Commerce forms, resulting in HTML that renders on the browser. Use these technologies to customize the look and feel of your storefront.
Sitemap Attribute Options in B2C Commerce: Your store’s sitemap has attributes that control how frequently search engines crawl your pages, what priority to crawl them in, and what content to include.
Sitemap Image URLs for Customer CDN: Generate image URLs for your B2C Commerce sitemaps that use the customer content delivery network (CDN).
Sitemap Output in B2C Commerce: Each time the sitemap generation job runs, the result is one index file (sitemap_index.xml) and one or more actual sitemap files (sitemap_0.xml, sitemap_1.xml, ...).
Sitemaps in B2C Commerce: Sitemaps are XML files that provide search engines, such as Google and Yahoo with information about a website so crawler can index it more efficiently. Sitemaps contain a list of all the URLs available for indexing and can provide the search engine with additional information, such as when a page was last updated, frequency of updates, and the relevance of a page. Search engines use this information to construct links to your site and control the ranking of links within its search results.
Sitemap Topology in B2C Commerce: To include your site in its search results, Google uses a googlebot to crawl your site. Google knows what pages are new in your site using the sitemap you provide. When Google requests the sitemap, the SiteMap pipeline in your application serves the sitemap to Google, using the SendGoogleSiteMap pipelet.
B2C Commerce Sites and Storefronts: In B2C Commerce, a site is the application and associated code that runs a storefront. A storefront is the user's online experience. A site can have multiple storefronts with different URLs for different brands, locales (with currency and tax differences), or multiple channels. If you’re referring to a specific URL, B2C Commerce uses the term storefront.
SKU Coverage: SKU Coverage is the normalized ratio between the total number and the number of available variations of a B2C Commerce base product. SKU Coverage is the same for all sites that share an Inventory list, so it's a site-specific value.
Get a Slack Token for B2C Commerce: To connect Slack to Business Manager, a Slack administrator acquires a Slack bot token, also known as a Bot User OAuth Token, for your workspace. A Slack admin completes these steps before connecting the workspace to Business Manager.
Sorting Rule for B2C Commerce: You define sorting rules to control the order in which search results appear for a category. When developing sorting rules, it’s best to adopt a storefront strategy that helps your customers quickly find the products they seek.
Sorting Rules for B2C Commerce: Use B2C Commerce sorting rules to control the order in which search results appear to help your customers quickly find the products they’re interested in.
Source Code Best Practices for B2C Commerce: Plan the governance around B2C Commerce source code groups: how you educate your marketing team, test promotions before and after go-live, define build-and-release roles and timelines, stage imports, and decide when to use a source-code pattern instead of individual codes.
Specify Category Assignment Attributes: Specify the characteristics of each product-category assignment through the B2C Commerce Products or Catalogs modules.
Specify Source Code Site Preferences: Merchants use source codes to track customer activity and the source of incoming visits to a storefront. Salesforce B2C Commerce source-code groups enable you to use this information to manage such things as customer redirects, price books, and campaigns. Specify how you want B2C Commerce to handle source codes via site preferences.
Configure SSO to a Salesforce IdP Production Org: If the B2C instance connects to a Salesforce production org, configure a login flow for the Merchant Agent work. No Auth Provider setup is required.
Configure SSO to a Salesforce IdP Sandbox Org: If the B2C instance connects to a Salesforce sandbox org, first configure an External Client App in the production org. Then, configure an Auth Provider in the sandbox org. The Auth Provider uses the External Client App that you set up in the production org.
Access Log Center: Access B2C Commerce Log Center from a browser or from Business Manager.
Statement Descriptor Settings for B2C Commerce: A statement descriptor provides banks and credit card networks with a description of the credit card transaction charge. Salesforce Payments adds the description to the shopper’s bank or card statement to identify the source of the charge. When shoppers know the origin of a charge, it reduces payment disputes and chargeback requests. Salesforce Payments supports three statement descriptor settings.
Static Mappings for B2C Commerce: Create static mappings from existing legacy URLs to new URLs in B2C Commerce. The URLs can be either dynamic pipeline calls or static resources, however, make sure that source URLs are unknown to the system. Replicate static mappings from Staging to Production instances. The file size of the configuration in Business Manager is limited to 2 MB. If you exceed the limit, use the site import and export functionality to update the static mappings.
Stemming Exceptions: Stemming reduces a word to a shorter base form, which increases recall in B2C Commerce search.
Stop Words: Stop words aren’t indexed in B2C Commerce and therefore are ignored when they’re entered in a query. These are words that don't influence the result of a search query, such as articles and prepositions (a, an, the, in, on, for). This has a significant effect on the size of the index and the efficiency of the search result.
Stop an A/B Test in B2C Commerce: Stop a test if it has not produced useful results or if its test segment effects decrease revenue.
Create Orders Automatically Using Stored Payment Methods: Set up a B2C Commerce site to automatically create orders in an off-session transaction by reusing payment information stored in tokens. An off-session transaction doesn't require the shopper to be online to complete a purchase. A site can use off-session tokens to automate orders for recurring payments, such as subscriptions or installments, or one-click reordering.
Storefront Login Redirects: In SiteGenesis, B2C Commerce redirects the storefront login via a 302 redirect to prevent credentials from being available with a browser refresh. Any node that requires a login sets the pipeline and parameters to use in the redirect. The loginredirect.isml template and the Login-Redirect pipeline (both in the SiteGenesis Storefront Core cartridge) perform the redirect.
Storefront Network Access in B2C Commerce: To limit network access to a storefront, configure the embedded Content Delivery Network (eCDN) that comes with B2C Commerce. eCDN is self-service in Business Manager.
Storefront Password Protection and Login: To prevent shoppers from finding your B2C Commerce storefront during development and testing, restrict access. Limit storefront access to merchants and other people involved in the project. This limit prevents crawlers and search engine robots from indexing your storefront and making it available to search engines. Both dynamic content, such as pages, and static content, such as images, are protected.
Storefront Sorting Options: A storefront sorting option allows customers to sort search results already returned by a category or keyword search. Any storefront sorting options you configure in B2C Commerce appear in the Sort By dropdown list at the top of search results. All storefront sorting options are available site-wide.
Storefront Toolkit Tips and Limitations: For best results, configure your system for optimal Storefront Toolkit performance and make sure you’re aware of toolkit limitations. This topic applies to B2C Commerce
Stream Security Logs: To set up B2C Commerce security logs streaming, configure the Enable Security Logs option.
Supply Chain Security in B2C Commerce: Unverified software sources included through uploads and external linking represent potential vectors for attack.
Support for DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) Authentication: Salesforce B2C Commerce provides an out-of-the-box solution on our first-party Point of Deployment (POD) that customers can use for their email requirements. This service provides support for DKIM and SPF authentication. DKIM is an email authentication protocol that adds a cryptographic digital signature to outgoing emails. With DKIM, receivers can verify that the domain owner authorized the email and that it wasn’t altered in transit. DKIM helps reduce spam and phishing emails.
Synonyms: Synonyms are words or phrases that mean exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in B2C Commerce search. If a number of terms are defined as synonyms, then searching for one of those terms returns the results for all of the terms. You can also exclude specific synonyms using negative synonyms. Brand synonyms are automatically generated.
System-Generated Coupon Codes: To auto-generate many unique, one-time-use codes, use system-generated coupon codes. These codes are useful for large-scale promotions, like an email blast, and you can customize These codes are useful for large-scale promotions, like an email blast, and you can customize them for a personalized B2C Commerce shopping experience. for the coupon campaign or pool.
Locking System Resources during Job Execution: When you create a B2C Commerce job, prevent another job from modifying system resources while your job is executing. To know which system resources to assign to the job, know which resources are related to which entity. For example, if your job modifies customers, assign the system resource profile to your job because customers are related to the profile system resource. When your job is executing, another job can't modify the profile system resource and unexpectedly change the outcome of your job. Resource locks are re-entrant locks. In other words, if a job locks a resource, job steps in that job can lock the same resource again. The product index Rebuild task doesn't require any resource locks except itself. However, the product index update task requires resources locks on Product, Catalog and Category.
Tag Promotions in B2C Commerce: Tags let you classify promotions into logical groups. Assign tags to multiple promotions, while each promotion can have multiple tags.
Target a Page Designer Page for a Campaign or Promotion: When you target a B2C Commerce Page Designer page for a campaign or promotion, any visibility rules you’ve configured for the page based on customer group or schedule are overridden. If the campaign or promotion you assign to the page includes visibility rules based on customer group or schedule, those rules are used for the page.
Target a Page Designer Component for a Campaign or Promotion: When you target a B2C Commerce Page Designer component for a campaign or promotion, any visibility rules you’ve configured for the component based on customer group or schedule are overridden. If the campaign or promotion you assign to the component includes visibility rules based on customer group or schedule, those rules are used for the component.
Tax Class ID Attributes in B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce has two system object attributes for managing product tax rates on your storefront: legacy taxClassId and localizedTaxClassId.
Technical Dashboard: The B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Technical Reports dashboard gives you insights about your site’s server-side technical operations data, including pipelines and controllers.
Technical Data Subject Areas: Use the B2C Commerce data dimensions and measures to evaluate the performance of controller requests, included controller requests, and Open Commerce API (OCAPI) requests.
Technical Open Commerce API (OCAPI) Dashboard: The Technical Open Commerce API (OCAPI) Dashboard in B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards reports on your site’s OCAPI requests, with metrics for average response time, request volume, non-200-level responses, and response time distribution. The metrics update daily, and all times are in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Technical Salesforce Commerce API (Shopper Commerce API (SCAPI)) Dashboard: The Technical Salesforce Commerce API (SCAPI) Dashboard in B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards reports on your site’s SCAPI requests. Along with response-time and request-volume metrics, it includes a Cache Hit Ratio report, which shows cache hit, cache miss and store, and cache miss rates that the OCAPI dashboard doesn’t provide. The metrics update daily, and all times are in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Test a PayPal Configuration: After you integrate a PayPal merchant account with Salesforce Payments and add the PayPal merchant account to your B2C Commerce site, test your configuration in a sandbox.
Test the Merchant Agent: After completing the B2C Commerce Merchant Agent setup process, test the setup. Use the agent to create a boost rule with a natural-language prompt.
Test Dynamic URL Mappings for Source Codes: Support a friendly URL that a customer can enter on your B2C Commerce storefront. This URL takes the customer to a specific page that shows the results of the search of category JA, for example. Test a dynamic URL mapping.
Text Relevance: To improve search results for your B2C Commerce customers, boost attributes that are more significant when they contain a search term.
Tiered Discounts in B2C Commerce: Tier discounts so that the discount amount increases as the shopper buys more products or spends more money. Configure tiered discounts in a promotion with multiple threshold levels for conditional parameters, where the discount varies by threshold and can't be combined.
View Trace Details (Beta): Read the span waterfall for a single B2C Commerce trace to see how a request moves across services and where it spends time.
Traces (Beta): Use the Traces feature in Log Center to follow a single request as it travels across B2C Commerce services. A trace shows the end-to-end path of a request and the time spent in each service, so you can find where latency or errors occur.
Track Changes: Shipping Orders, Invoices, or Returns: After you integrate automated order routing and payment processing capabilities into B2C Commerce, track changes by these jobs on shipping orders, invoices, or returns by individual order in the Business Manager Ordering module. On the Order details page, the Shipping Orders, Invoices, and Returns tabs appear only when an order contains a shipping order, invoice, or return, respectively. The information on these tabs is read-only.
Visit Tracking: B2C Commerce enables you to track visits via B2C Commerce Analytics.
Traffic Dashboard: The B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Traffic dashboard shows data about the visitors to your site.
Traffic Data Subject Areas: Visits analyze data about the visitors to your B2C Commerce site. For example, review the number of site visits, the visits by device, and visit duration.
Traffic Sources Dashboard: Use the B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Traffic Sources dashboard to compare revenue, orders, and conversion for shoppers who reach your storefront from an external source. The dashboard is available as a selection on the Traffic tab.
Transferring Files to an Instance in B2C Commerce: The first step in importing a feed is transferring it from an external server to the instance you want to import it into. Only XML from within a B2C Commerce instance can be uploaded or downloaded via APIs.
PPC Keywords for Landing Pages: B2C Commerce provides an easy way to manage Pay Per Click (PPC) URLs. You don't have to specify a separate URL for each query made by Google or other search engines. Instead, you can map the query generated by Google to a relevant landing page in B2C Commerce automatically. Use the URL-mapping feature to pass the keyword in the Google query to the Search-Show pipeline, which directs the customer to a page with search results based on the query. The Search-Show pipeline also detects if you have created a search redirect for the term and shows the related landing page for that redirect.
Troubleshoot Log Center Alerts: If you’re missing Log Center notifications in B2C Commerce, check these likely causes and fixes.
Troubleshoot Merchant Agent Setup: If you can't access the B2C Commerce Merchant Agent or create a rule with the agent, review these issues and their solutions.
Troubleshoot Shopper Profile Sync: Use these troubleshooting steps to diagnose and resolve issues with B2C Commerce Shopper Profile Sync.
Troubleshooting Import/Export in B2C Commerce: If attempts to connect to an FTP server using the FTPClient results in a "java.net.SocketTimeoutException", contact customer support to open access to the FTP port.
Troubleshoot Search Results for B2C Commerce: When configuring B2C Commerce search and navigation for your storefront, itʼs important to troubleshoot your search results frequently. Consider things like queries, indexes, stemming, performance, availability ranking, and how you configure your products.
Time to Out of Stock: Time to out of Stock (TTOOS) is the estimated time before a B2C Commerce product goes out of stock.
Understanding VAT Implications: In B2C Commerce, the value added tax (VAT) is a form of indirect sales tax paid on products and services at each stage of production or distribution, based on the value added at that stage and included in the cost to the ultimate customer. At each stage, the tax is assessed as a percentage on the amount by which goods increase in value from the raw materials or semi-manufactured stage.
Image View Types and Variants in B2C Commerce: Use B2C Commerce view types to group product images by usage context, such as large, medium, small, and swatch, and assign different images to each product variation.
Undo a Code Replication Process in B2C Commerce: When you undo a code replication, the target instance reverts to the previously active code version. Only run an undo process after a code replication process of type Activation or Transfer & Activation.
Undo a Data Replication Process in B2C Commerce: When you undo a data replication, data on the target instance reverts to the values from before the most recent data replication process that included publishing. Only run an undo process after a data replication process of type Publishing or Transfer & Publishing.
Unit Level Rounding: If you prorate tax across an order, each line item has values for the single unit base price and the line item totals for gross, net, and tax. The single unit net price isn't calculated or stored. All rounding is done at the line level, which can cause rounding discrepancies. If your B2C Commerce site experiences these discrepancies, use unit-level rounding.
Update a Price in a Read-Only Price Book in B2C Commerce: The supported way to change a price in a read-only price book is to edit it in your PIM source and reimport. In an emergency, use this Business Manager workaround: create an editable price book holding the new price, which takes precedence until you reimport from the PIM and delete the override.
Update a Managed SSL Certificate: When your managed SSL certificate expires, or you update the hostnames assigned to a managed SSL certificate, update the certificate in Business Manager for B2C Commerce.
Update a Self-Managed SSL Certificate: When your self-managed SSL certificate expires, or you update the hostnames assigned to a self-managed SSL certificate, upload a replacement certificate in Business Manager for B2C Commerce and remap DNS.
Update Authoritative DNS for an eCDN Zone: Point your B2C Commerce storefront's DNS records at your embedded CDN (eCDN) zone. Get the DNS CNAME record value from the getZonesInfo name property or from Business Manager, and then update the record with your authoritative DNS provider.
Update Orders: You can update a B2C Commerce order after it's submitted. For example, you can correct customer information or change the status. If you use Salesforce Order Management (SOM), then after an order is sent to Order Management, manage it there.
Updating Indexes: If you change your B2C Commerce search configuration, rebuild the appropriate index to see the changes in your storefront.
Uploading a Robots.txt File in B2C Commerce: If you choose to create a robots.txt file in an external file, you must upload the file to the correct location on your B2C Commerce server.
Call a Pipeline Start Node with a Source Code from a URL for B2C Commerce: To start a process at a B2C Commerce storefront, call a pipeline start node from a URL. If a source code is valid, this URL navigates the customer to one of two destinations. A valid source code must be enabled. This feature applies to B2C Commerce.
URL Evaluation and Resolution: When a customer enters a URL into their browser navigation bar, B2C Commerce evaluates the URL and resolves it in this sequence.
URL Generation and Conflict Resolution for B2C Commerce: B2C Commerce maintains a directory of pipeline, category, folder, and search refinement URLs in B2C Commerce database. Product and content URLs aren’t contained in this directory, because they’re built dynamically. The URL directory contains a URL endpoint for any pipeline alias, category in the storefront catalog, and folder in the site library for each site locale.
URL Redirects for B2C Commerce: During the initial transition between an existing site and a new B2C Commerce store, consider creating 301 redirects from the old site to the new site. Over time, create redirects from one page or URL to another.
URL Rules URL Syntax: Define how your storefront URLs look in B2C Commerce via two types of URL syntax: standard B2C Commerce URL syntax or SEO URL syntax. The syntax you use depends on which Business Manager module you have enabled.
URL Syntax for B2C Commerce: Define how your storefront URLs look in Salesforce B2C Commerce via two types of URL syntax.
Use 2FA on All Privileged Accounts: Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of protection beyond a single password for B2C Commerce accounts. The extra protection can be knowledge (something you know), possession (something you have), or biometrics (something you are). Using a second authentication factor, such as a mobile phone (something you have), provides additional protection against common security threats such as account takeover, fraud, data loss, malicious code, and phishing attacks.
Use a Positive Security Model: A positive security model, also known as a safelist approach, defines what is allowed and rejects everything else. Use this approach in B2C Commerce to make sure that you can allowlist only the known good input instead of trying to disallow all possible bad input.
Use Secure Defaults: As an administrator, you want to make the B2C Commerce user experience secure and reduce the number of default security settings. Configure security settings so that users must opt out of default security settings rather than opt in. If there's a security risk, clearly label insecure functionality in APIs or the user interface to discourage use.
User Authentication for B2C Commerce: Always use unified authentication in Salesforce B2C Commerce if you’re an administrator. Traditionally, we always used local user authentication, but a local user can perform only a local login into the Business Manager instance on which their credentials were created. After a site migrates to unified authentication, the site requires unified authentication on Account Manager, where a user can perform a global login into any Business Manager instance in their organization.
User Authentication and Authorization in B2C Commerce: As an administrator, you configure security controls in Business Manager. You must perform authentication to determine if the Business Manager user is who they claim to be. You can also perform authorization to determine if the user has permission to perform the specific action they’re attempting.
User Authorization in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce uses role-based access control to perform authorization. A user is assigned one or more roles, with each role consisting of a set of permissions. User authorization is configured in Business Manager using custom roles and permissions. The process primarily works the same way regardless of whether you use local or unified authentication.
Availability Ranking: Order search results based on the availability of items. Availability is set through the inventory feature in B2C Commerce.
Configure Category Position: Use the category position attribute as a sorting rule in B2C Commerce to place specific products in a particular order for a specific category. This is typically used to place items at the beginning of the product results for a category page to promote them.
Coupons as Promotion Qualifiers for B2C Commerce: To qualify users for B2C Commerce storefront promotions, you can use coupons. You can generate coupons by using B2C Commerce, sources external to B2C Commerce, custom-defined coupons. You can also import and export coupon codes to external email marketing systems.
Use Explicit Sorting: Consider creating a custom sort for a specific page or section of a page on your B2C Commerce storefront.
Using Hooks Securely in B2C Commerce: In Salesforce B2C Commerce, you can use hooks as a powerful tool to extend default functionality. Like all powerful tools, however, hooks are dangerous if not used properly.
Configure Multiple Promotion Qualifiers for B2C Commerce: Create promotions that require the shopper to meet multiple qualifying conditions. For these qualifiers to apply, create a campaign and configure the promotion qualifier settings for that campaign.
Search Analytics for B2C Commerce: Use B2C Commerce Analytics for monitoring and analyzing search results as an important part of merchandising. Identify when customers are getting no results for searches to uncover emerging market trends. Identify successful searches and determine how many are converting to orders, to see whether you’re stocking what customers want. You can also see whether key words associated with promotions or marketing are used, to determine the success of particular campaigns.
Using Session Custom Attributes in B2C Commerce: Using session custom attributes, you can customize unique session information to identify customers for a customer group. To do this, configure customized session custom attributes in Business Manager and in your application.
Using Site Import/Export for Development Testing in B2C Commerce: When multiple developers work on one or more sites, make sure that they all have the same data in their systems. They can use Site Import/Export to set up multiple sandboxes with the same configuration.
Source Codes as Promotion Qualifiers for B2C Commerce: A shopper-supplied source code can qualify promotions at runtime. When a shopper provides a valid code, B2C Commerce activates the associated price books, redirects, and promotions, then processes the source code from URLs, cookies, and shopper submissions.
Get Cache Status Using the Cache Information Tool in B2C Commerce: To get information about cached and uncached components on a page, use the Cache Information Tool. Cache is disabled for Storefront Toolkit users, but the Cache Information tool shows you caching information about components as if you’re viewing the storefront without the toolkit. Use this information to determine the cost of caching portions of a page. The Cache Information Tool shows caching information for pipeline calls or controllers for the page itself and remote includes. The Cache Information Tool doesn't show static content caching, so caching information for third parties doesn't appear. Local includes aren't cacheable, so information about local includes doesn't appear.
Identify Content to Edit with the Content Information Tool: To determine the source of content assets in the B2C Commerce storefront and get a link to edit the content in Business Manager, use the Content Information Tool. The Content Information Tool doesn't support Page Designer pages.
Examine Server Calls Using the Request Log in B2C Commerce: The Request Log shows log entries related to the most recent server call and any server calls made while the tool is open. You can also view log entries for AJAX calls or other script calls. The Request Log tool shows exception information from the server and the custom logging in real time. If you use this tool to debug a script, use custom logging in your script as long as you configure the custom log settings in Business Manager.
Robots.txt Files for B2C Commerce: When a robot visits a website, such as http://www.yourshophere.com/, it first checks for the robots.txt file and analyzes it to determine if it can index the site. For the robots.txt file to be used by Salesforce B2C Commerce, you must set up your hostname alias.
Use the SEO URL General Tab: The B2C Commerce SEO URL General tab provides status information and links to conflict details, letting you handle the conflicts.
Use the SEO URLs Settings Tab: Use this B2C Commerce tab to configure locale mappings, character replacements, and search refinement settings.
Use the URL Archive Tab: The URL Archive redirects out-dated URL mappings to the current URL mapping (as defined in your category and folder URL rules section) on your B2C Commerce Staging and Production instance. When out-dated redirects, initiated by the archive, become obsolete (for example, because a category was deleted or because of ID changes), remove them from the URL archive tab. Search for the URL path or object ID.
SiteMap Pipeline and SendGoogleSiteMap Pipelet: The B2C Commerce Reference Application contains the pipeline SiteMap, which uses the pipelet SendGoogleSiteMap. This exposes the sitemap_index.xml file to any crawler that requests it.
Preview a Site Using the Site Preview Tool in B2C Commerce: Use the Site Preview Tool to view the storefront as it appears for a certain date or time. Choose to view the storefront as it appears for certain customer groups, or with certain source code. To preview an A/B test on a storefront, enter the A/B test and A/B test segment values.
Use the URL Request Analyzer: The URL Request Analyzer provides you with detailed information on specific URL requests. This tool can help you understand how B2C Commerce processes Storefront URL requests and which configuration it uses to open the corresponding storefront page. It can help identify the root cause of invalid URLs, 404 error pages, and URLs not resulting in the expected target.
URL Rules for SEO: To increase site traffic, optimize your B2C Commerce site URLs for external search engines, such as Google or Yahoo. If you’re creating a site, URL Rules are automatically enabled and you can configure them if you have permissions to the URL Rules module. Salesforce recommends configuring and testing URL Rules on a Sandbox before exporting them to Staging and replicating them to Production.
Validate Payments for B2C Commerce: Set up and validate test payments in a test or live merchant account for your B2C Commerce instance. Use a merchant account associated with your B2C Commerce instance to create test payments.
Value Calculation for Active Data: In B2C Commerce, base product calculations ignore variations that have null or stale data when calculating the value of an attribute. Sliced variation calculations ignore sliced variations that have null or stale data when calculating the value of an attribute.
Variation Attribute Values: Define B2C Commerce variation products for a base product by creating a variation attribute.
Variation Product Display: With B2C Commerce, you control how different variations of a product appear in the search results and category pages. You can show variations as separate products or as a single product, by creating variation groups or slicing. For example, if you want to show results for every color of a sweater, you can make color a slicing attribute. If you don’t, then only one sweater appears in the search results and you must show the color options on the product details page.
Variation Slicing by Category: If you have a B2C Commerce variation product, it can appear in search results or landing pages using a single image or multiple images. Salesforce recommends using variation groups to show products in different categories. However, you can also show the same product differently in the keyword search results and in different categories, depending on the slicing rule used.
Trusted Proxies and eCDN Request Blocking: When you stack a third-party CDN or proxy in front of B2C Commerce eCDN, the eCDN security feature can mistake the proxy for an attacker and block it. Verify trusted proxy traffic so that legitimate requests aren't blocked.
Verify Site Ownership for Google in B2C Commerce: To verify that you’re the owner of a site, Google requests that you add a specific meta tag to your site or deploy a file with a specific name to your web server's root directory. Though this topic refers specifically to Google, other search engines have similar procedures.
Verify the Robots.txt File in B2C Commerce: After you generate or upload a robots.txt file, confirm that your storefront serves it correctly by requesting the file in a browser and testing its directives in Google Search Console.
B2C Commerce Video Tutorials: Watch instructional videos and step-by-step tutorials for B2C Commerce Business Manager. Learn how to rebuild search indexes, assign products to categories, create promotions and discounts, add products to the catalog, localize content in Page Designer, build dynamic customer groups, set visibility rules, manage content assets, use granular replication, and create Business Manager roles.
View Job History: View the B2C Commerce job history page to see information about jobs, including status, end time, and duration.
View Real-Time Performance Dashboard: All users can use the B2C Commerce Reports & Dashboards Real-Time Performance dashboards to view live sales metrics, such as the number of orders and baskets created. To view performance metrics, you must have either the Performance User or the Customer Manager role. Change the span of time to display for each metric.
View Search Index Details in B2C Commerce: Use the search index General and Statistics pages in Business Manager to assess the overall health, settings, and content of your B2C Commerce storefront's search indexes. Confirm that your catalog is fully indexed, monitor the size and age of the indexes, and troubleshoot why specific products or search terms don't appear in storefront search results.
View Traces (Beta): Open the Traces page in Log Center to see traces for your B2C Commerce realm.
View A/B Testing for B2C Commerce Results: Run up to three A/B tests at a time in B2C Commerce. Each test can have multiple segments, with multiple user experiences. When you have gathered data from an A/B test, Deploy some or all of experiences for its test groups to the site.
View Active Data Attributes: View active data attributes assigned to specific B2C Commerce products or customers.
View Change History: Collect and view change history details for several B2C Commerce Business Manager data objects. Use the Business Manager Administrations Change History module to search for and view change history data.
Track and Manage Coupon Redemptions for B2C Storefronts: View coupon redemptions to track and manage who redeems coupons and when. You can search and analyze redemption data across all coupons, or view a coupon-specific redemption. You can also remove a shopper's email address from redeemed coupons. A redemption is tied to an order. The redemption is deleted if a shopper deletes their order. Deleted coupons and codes don't affect redeemed coupons.
Visual Merchandising in B2C Commerce: In Business Manager, the Visual Merchandising workspace is the central place to complete your merchandising activities. Drive customer engagement and sales with the merchandising capabilities of the platform from this workspace. Find Visual Merchandising in your Merchant Tools left navigation, under Products and Catalogs.
Control Category Slicing and Product Variations in Visual Merchandising: The B2C Commerce Visual Merchandising workspace is the central location to control category-level slicing and view all product variants within a category. Manage slicing and product variations right from a product card.
Product Appearance on Product List and Search Pages: Use the Visual Merchandising workspace to show B2C Commerce shoppers the most relevant products, promote specific items, and drive sales for seasonal merchandise. The workspace is the central location to manage products across product pages and search results. You can also customize the information and images shown on product cards, and select a locale to customize search results for shoppers.
eCDN WAF on On-Demand Sandboxes: B2C Commerce On-Demand Sandbox (ODS) Default Domain zones support the full embedded CDN (eCDN) web application firewall (WAF) feature set. Because ODS uses a shared zone model, plan rule changes carefully. The rules apply to every ODS instance in the realm.
eCDN WAF Log Fields and JSON Output: Request B2C Commerce eCDN-WAF log files through the Open Commerce API (OCAPI). This reference covers the request constraints, an example call, the JSON log output, and the fields each log returns.
eCDN WAF Managed Rulesets: The embedded CDN (eCDN) web application firewall (WAF) protects your B2C Commerce storefront through two managed rulesets: the eCDN WAFv2 Managed Ruleset and the OWASP WAFv2 Managed Ruleset. You enable and tune each ruleset per zone.
eCDN WAF Logs: eCDN logs include information about all of your B2C Commerce network traffic, not just the traffic that the web application firewall (WAF) acts on. Use the logs to track IP-reputation–blocked traffic and to see how much of your traffic doesn't trigger WAF.
eCDN Web Application Firewall (WAF): The embedded CDN (eCDN) web application firewall (WAF) is a layer 7 defense that inspects HTTP and HTTPS traffic to your B2C Commerce storefront and blocks requests that try to exploit code-level vulnerabilities. WAF is enabled by default when you create a Proxy Zone and is one part of a multitiered approach to bad-actor mitigation.
WebDAV Client Permissions: WebDav client permissions let you configure which API clients can access your B2C Commerce WebDAV files. These permissions also give you fine-grained control over which directories each client can access.
Web Services in B2C Commerce: Salesforce B2C Commerce provides a web services framework that helps you manage calls to web services and analyze service performance. You need custom code to interact with a web service. We recommend that you use secure protocols as web service types, such as HTTPS, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) over Transport Layer Security (TLS). A web service can also use a service credential, such as username and password, to perform HTTP basic authentication.
WebDAV Authentication and Authorization in B2C Commerce: WebDAV is a protocol that enables you to upload and download data or code files. A merchant sends WebDAV requests to your instance’s WebDAV server. The merchant’s WebDAV client can be a Business Manager user or an API client for machine-to-machine interaction.
Which Salesforce Commerce Product Do I Have?: Salesforce Commerce includes the B2B Commerce and B2C Commerce products. It’s important to know which product you’re using so that you can access the correct documentation and resources.
Wish List or Order Status Object Import/Export in B2C Commerce: There’s no built-in support for importing wish list objects or order status objects. However, you can develop a proprietary XML format and use the B2C Commerce script or a pipelet to update these objects.
Using Job Steps: The B2C Commerce job framework includes some out-of-the-box system steps. When you use system steps in a job flow, no coding is required, although most job steps require that you configure some parameters. If there’s no system step that does what you want to do, have a developer create a custom job step.
Slot Configurations in B2C Commerce: Two types of users participate in content slot development and implementation in Salesforce B2C Commerce: Merchants and Web Template developers.
Swatch Images for B2C Commerce Variation Products: A swatch image shows the key difference between B2C Commerce variation products, such as color or fabric. Keep the swatch view type on the catalog, and assign one swatch image on the base product.
XML File Generation from Within B2C Commerce: Standard exports use the B2C Commerce-defined XML schema files. B2C Commerce provides a set of schema files that can be used to create the most common export files.
Capturing Offline Orders and Inventory Reconciliation: During Omnichannel Inventory service interruptions, Continuous Order Capture queues B2C Commerce orders to maintain business continuity. The system accepts orders based on the last known inventory data. To avoid overselling, B2C Commerce automatically decrements the Available-To-Order (ATO) value immediately after each order is created. The system marks these orders as Reservation Missing until Omnichannel Inventory recovers. After the connection is restored, the system automatically reconciles the inventory and creates reconciliation reports.
B2C Commerce Continuous Order Capture for Omnichannel Inventory: Turn on Continuous Order Capture to accept customer orders and maintain business continuity even if connectivity to Omnichannel Inventory is lost. When the service is unavailable, Continuous Order Capture automatically transitions to an offline mode and accepts transactions without immediate inventory reservations. By independently reconciling pending reservations and providing real-time recovery alerts, this feature protects your storefront from downtime while minimizing overselling risks.
Enable Continuous Order Capture for B2C Commerce: To maintain business continuity, accept orders during Omnichannel Inventory service interruptions. Enabling this feature makes sure of uninterrupted sales but requires accepting the risk of potential overselling while Omnichannel Inventory for B2C Commerce is offline.
Shopper Profile Sync: Shopper Profile Sync connects your B2C Commerce shopper data with records in your Salesforce org. This integration automatically syncs registered shoppers as person accounts and provides a unified view of each customer across Commerce, Service, and other Salesforce apps.
