Create a rule that boosts or buries matching products in your B2C Commerce storefront for a search term, a category, or site-wide context.
Before you begin, make sure that you have set up the attribute. See Prepare Attributes for Boost and Bury Rules.
Note To target active data attributes in a rule, the Enable Active Data for Boost and
Bury feature switch must be on. If active data attributes don't appear when you
configure the target criteria, this feature switch isn't on. Salesforce enables active data
support for realms in phases. If the switch is available in your realm, an administrator can turn
it on in Business Manager when Enable Boost and Bury for Search is on. If
the switch isn't visible, contact Salesforce to request that it's enabled for your realm. See
Prepare Attributes for Boost and Bury Rules.
-
In Business Manager, click App Launcher
, and then select .
- Open the search or category context where you want to apply the rule.
- Click New Rule.
-
Name the rule and configure the target criteria, such as product attributes or IDs, active
data attributes, and qualifiers.
If you have multiple attributes with the same attribute ID, you can boost only one of the attributes. If you want the rule to apply site-wide, don't enter qualifiers.
-
Enter a rule name and configure target criteria, such as product attributes or IDs, and
qualifiers.
Leave qualifiers blank for site-wide behavior.
- Define up to 10 conditions for the rule.
-
Select Boost or Bury, and set a factor value
from 0 through 100.
The factor determines how aggressively the product moves in search results relative to other products. Higher values have a stronger influence, while smaller factors apply more subtle adjustments. For more information, see Boost and Bury Rules for B2C Commerce.
-
Click Apply to save the rule.
The Visual Merchandising preview updates to show the ranking impact for matching products.
