When adding a page in Page Designer, create it in your base language, typically your default locale. When you create the page, Page Designer adds a variation for each locale in the fallback hierarchy defined in B2C Commerce Business Manager. Then use the page variations to localize components for each locale as needed.
Watch the video to learn how to localize content in Page Designer.
For example, if you create a page in your default locale, and the fallback hierarchy for Canadian French is fr_CA > fr > default, page variations for fr_CA and fr are also created. For each of these page variations, localize content at the component level, or leave the component as is to show according to the fallback hierarchy. If you provide localized Canadian French text or images for a component on the Canadian French (fr_CA) page variation, that content appears on the Canadian French page. If you don't provide localized content for the Canadian French page, the page uses the contents of the component in the next locale in the fallback hierarchy, which in this case is the French (fr) page variation. If the component isn’t localized on the French page, the component shows the contents of the component in the next locale in the fallback hierarchy, in this case, the default locale. If you provide localized content for a component, use the Revert to Fallback option to delete the localized component and instead use the content from the fallback hierarchy.
When you initially configure a page, all locale page variations use the text from the locale in which you set up the page for SEO and Localization fields in the Page Settings window. To use localized text for those fields, go to the locale page variation and enter the localized text. However when you save your changes on either the SEO or Localization tab, you break the connection to the fallback text for all text on both tabs. There’s no Revert to Fallback option for SEO or Localization fields on locale page variations.
