Check In and Check Out

Custom Disposition (Optional)

  1. Select the Task object in Object Manager.
  2. Select Field Sets | New, enter a name, and then save.
  3. Add the fields that users complete when they check in, for example meeting comments, to the Salesforce Maps Custom Disposition field set.
Note
Note You can't use a custom disposition with a dependent picklist, and required-field enforcement can differ between Check In and Check Out. For details and workarounds, see Salesforce Maps Troubleshooting.

Activity Settings

  1. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click Configure.
  2. Select Settings | Activity Settings.
  3. Select the field set that you created in Custom Disposition, and then save.

Per-Base-Object Check In Settings

  1. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click Configure.
  2. Select Base Object | Edit Existing (or Create New), and then select the object.
  3. Set the options.
    • Post To—create a Chatter post, a task, an event, or a combination.
    • Verification Distance—require mobile users to be within a given distance of the record's geolocation to check in.
    • Chatter Body—the content of Chatter posts, including field macros.

Automatic Check Out (Optional)

  1. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click Configure.
  2. Select Permission Groups, create or select a group, click Edit, select Auto Check Out, and then save.

Checking in logs an activity and marks it complete. If you require notes, include a custom disposition.
