# Set Up Activity Logging in Salesforce Maps

Let field users create records for leads and accounts and log visit activities from a map. A rep can use Click2Create to capture a new lead, then use Check In to log the visit on the account.

        </tr>

    </table>

## Click2Create

1. Select the Lead or Account object in Object Manager.
2. Select **Field Sets** | **New**.
3. Enter a name for the field set, and describe where it's used.
4. Add the fields that you want users to complete.
5. Map the fields to the Salesforce record fields.
6. Add the Click2Create button to the appropriate button sets, and assign the button sets to the relevant permission groups.

## Check In and Check Out

**Custom Disposition (Optional)**

1. Select the Task object in Object Manager.
2. Select **Field Sets** | **New**, enter a name, and then save.
3. Add the fields that users complete when they check in, for example meeting comments, to the Salesforce Maps Custom Disposition field set.

Note You can't use a custom disposition with a dependent picklist, and required-field enforcement can differ between Check In and Check Out. For details and workarounds, see [Salesforce Maps Troubleshooting](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sales.salesforce_maps_setup_troubleshooting.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Resolve common Salesforce Maps issues with this quick reference.").

**Activity Settings**

1. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click **Configure**.
2. Select **Settings** | **Activity Settings**.
3. Select the field set that you created in **Custom Disposition**, and then save.

**Per-Base-Object Check In Settings**

1. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click **Configure**.
2. Select **Base Object** | **Edit Existing** (or **Create New**), and then select the object.
3. Set the options.
    - **Post To**—create a Chatter post, a task, an event, or a combination.
    - **Verification Distance**—require mobile users to be within a given distance of the record's geolocation to check in.
    - **Chatter Body**—the content of Chatter posts, including field macros.

**Automatic Check Out (Optional)**

1. Find the Salesforce Maps package, and then click **Configure**.
2. Select **Permission Groups**, create or select a group, click **Edit**, select **Auto Check Out**, and then save.

Checking in logs an activity and marks it complete. If you require notes, include a custom disposition.
