Change the Search Provider for Agentforce Account Management

Agentforce Account Management uses a default search provider for the Search The Web action to retrieve web data for account research. To optimize search quality and data recency for your accounts, change the search provider to one of your choices. Your agent uses the selected search provider for all web research requests, including interactions in Slack.

Set the Search Provider

To edit your agent, it must be in a draft state. If your agent is committed, create a draft.

  1. From the App Launcher, enter Agent, and select Agentforce Studio, and then click Agents.
  2. Select the Sales agent.
  3. In the Explorer panel, expand Subagents and select the Web Retrieval subagent.
  4. Under Actions Available For Reasoning, expand Search The Web.
  5. Next to the Search Provider input, click the value dropdown menu, and then select Create a variable.
To enter a provider directly instead of using a variable, if the value shows Agent Populated, select Remove variable. Click the value again, select Empty String, and then enter the provider name.
The Create Custom Variable dialog opens.
  6. In the Create Custom Variable dialog, enter a name for the variable and configure the variable's settings.
  7. In the Default Value field, enter one of the supported search providers: BrightData, OpenAI, or you.com.
If you don't specify a provider, the action uses you.com by default.
  8. Click Create.
  9. Save your changes.

Set the Search Provider in the Legacy Builder

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Agents, and then select Agentforce Agents.
  2. Select the Sales agent, and click Open in Builder.
  3. If your agent is active, deactivate it.
  4. In Agentforce Builder, open the Sales Research subagent.
  5. Select This Subagent's Actions.
  6. Select Search The Web.
  7. Click Edit Action.
  8. In the Inputs section, go to Search Provider, and select a search provider from the Configuration Value dropdown menu.
  9. Save the action.
