If an automatic backup fails or you don't want to wait for the next scheduled backup, you can start backups whenever you want in Backup & Recover for ServiceNow.
Run a Backup Manually
- Go to the Backup tab.
- Select the backup service for the org in which the data loss occurred. The Dashboard screen for the selected service appears.
-
Click Back Up Now, if you want to back up the entire service. Optionally, you can open the
drop down list to:
- Back Up Now with Label - Manually back up the entire service, and add a specific label to this specific on demand backup (for example "Test", and so on)
- Back Up Now Specific Tables - Manually back up only specific tables.
- Wait for the backup to complete.
Backup Specific Tables Manually
You can run an on demand backup of specific tables within a service, if you don't want to wait until the next automatic backup time, and you don't want to back up the entire org/instance at this time.
Note Backup Specific Objects/Tables doesn't use Bulk API.
- Navigate to the Backup tab.
- Select the backup service in which the data loss or corruption occurred.
- Select any tab from the left navigation and select Backup now specific tables.
-
The Backup Specific Tables dialog window appears. Select the objects that you want to back
up, and click Back Up Now.
The backup of selected objects begins, and a message bar appears at the top of the screen, notifying that the on demand backup request has been submitted for execution.
