This video provides an overview of building custom Analytics reports.

  1. On the Analytics tab, click Create | Report.
  2. On the Create Report window, under Category, select All.
  3. To verify that the report type you selected contains the necessary information to build your report, use the Details and Fields tabs in the panel on the right.
  4. Click Start Report.
  5. In the report builder, expand the Fields panel to view a list of the fields you can use to create your report.
    Tip
Tip Use the filters at the top of the list to filter fields by their attributes. You can filter the list to show fields that contain string values, number values, checkbox values, date values, and picklist values.
  6. Drag the fields you want to use in your reports into the Columns area.
  7. Drag the fields you want to group the data by into the Groups area.
For example, if you're creating a report that shows email click metrics, you can group the data by message name to view aggregated data for each message template you used.
  8. To filter the data, add a filter on the Filter tab.

For example, to view email engagement data for recipients whose email addresses are on the gmail.com domain, filter by Sendtime Email Address values that contain @gmail.com.

    Note
    Note Filter values are case-sensitive.
  9. To add a chart, click Add Chart.
The report builder shows a data visualization that best fits your data. Click the gear icon next to the visualization to select a different chart type.
  10. To preview the data in the selected columns, click Refresh.
The report window refreshes to show a portion of the data from the selected columns.
  11. When you finish creating your report, save the report and then click Run.
The report builder refreshes to include the data for the report. Reports can contain up to 2,000 rows of data.
