Additional Information on Twitter Ads

  • If you want to pull Cards data, you must have access to view cards in your Twitter account.
  • In Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, the values displayed for Impressions, Social Follows, and Total Engagements measurements are likely higher than the values displayed in the Twitter Ads platform and reporting due to limitations on the Twitter platform.
    • In Twitter, there are three Impression measurements and three Follows measurements, and they include subsets of these measurements.
      • Impressions:
        • promoted_account_impressions
        • promoted_tweet_search_impressions
        • promoted_tweet_timeline_impressions
      • Follows:
        • promoted_account_follows
        • promoted_tweet_search_follows
        • promoted_tweet_timeline_follows

In Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, the three Impression measurements are aggregated into one measurement called Impressions, while the three Follows measurements are aggregated into one measurement called Social Follows. In the Twitter Ads platform and reporting, you can only see the promoted_account_impressions and promoted_account_follows.

  • Twitter doesn't support conversion data by device on a Tweet (Ad) level, either on the UI level or the API level. The implication is that when 'Get Conversion Level Data' is selected, additional segmentation is set to 'Device', and 'Get Tweet Level Data' is selected, conversion data isn’t populated. The proposed solution is to create two data streams, one that has the tweet level data checked and another data stream that has the additional segmentation set to 'Device'.
  • Due to a Twitter Ads known issue, if you see your sales amount value in the millions and the amount isn’t correct, you must divide the sales amount by 1 million. For more information see this Twitter article.
