As a group owner or manager, you can change groups from private to public, or from public to private by editing the group settings.
When you change a private group to public, a few things happen:
- Updates and files are visible to all users.
- All pending requests to join the group are accepted.
- Anyone can join the group.
Private groups with customers can’t be converted to other group types. You can't change the group access level for private groups that allow customers.
- In Salesforce Classic, click Group Settings on the group detail page. In the Lightning Experience, click the Edit Group button in the group header.
- Change the access level for the group.
- Save your changes.
