Use permission sets to prevent users from attaching Salesforce Files to posts, records, and other objects.
Required Editions
| Available in: All Editions |
| Permission sets available in: Contact Manager, Professional, Group, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Database.com Editions |
- From Setup, enter User Profiles in the Quick Find box, and select Profiles.
- Click Edit next to the user profile you want to change.
- In the Administrative Permissions section, enable or disable the Select Files from Salesforce checkbox, and click Save.
Another option is to apply the permission in a permission set. Users who have this permission disabled are still able to upload files from their local drive. To apply the permission in a permission set, from Setup enter Permission Sets in the QuickFind box, then select Permission Sets. Edit the permission set and apply the Select Files from Salesforce permission.
If your custom component uses lightning-file-upload or lightning:fileUpload, users cannot upload files if Enable Chatter is turned off. You should make sure the Enable Chatter permission is set correctly to control who can upload files.
