Applies to: ✅ Data 360 SQL ✅ Tableau Hyper API
Concatenates the text representations of all arguments, ignoring NULL values.
Syntax
concat(<value1> [, value2 [, ...]])
Arguments
Required
<value1>: The first value to concatenate.
Optional
value2, ...: Additional values to concatenate.
Returns
Returns a text value containing all non-NULL arguments concatenated together.
Considerations
- Unlike the
||operator, the function ignores NULL arguments. - Converts all arguments to their text representation.
Examples
Concatenate with NULLs
Combine values including NULL.
SELECT concat('abcde', 2, NULL, 22) AS result;
Returns 'abcde222'. Ignores the NULL.
