Define the records you want available on a screen, including the object, filters, sort order, and how many records to retrieve.
A component shows live data only after its screen has a data source. Add a data source before you bind components on that screen to fields.
- In the data tab, select the screen to add data to, and then select Browse source manually.
-
Enter a data source label.
The label is an alias for this source. Use a distinct label for each source so that you can tell them apart. For example, you can add the same object twice with different filters, so give each one a clear name such as Active opportunities.
- Select the object to pull records from, such as Opportunity.
-
Add filter conditions.
For each condition, choose a field, an operator, and a value. When you have more than one condition, choose whether records must meet all conditions (AND) or at least one condition (OR).
- Set the sort order by choosing a field to sort by, and then selecting ascending or descending.
- Set how many records to retrieve, such as the first six records.
-
Save the data source.
The data source is now available on the screen and ready to bind to components.
Bind a component on the screen to a field in this data source.
