Enable Real-Time Update of Non-Qualifying Points Balance

To update non-qualifying points balance of members in real time, turn on real-time balance update setting in your Salesforce org.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions that have Loyalty Management enabled.
User Permissions Needed
To enable real-time points balance update:
  • System Administrator
  • Loyalty Management

Before you turn on the setting to update members' non-qualifying points balance in real time, you must run the Credit Non-Qualifying Points to Members Data Processing Engine definition. This ensures that the members' points balance is updated for all the transactions processed until the current date.

Member points balance is updated in real time only for Accrual type transaction journals. When you turn on this setting, you don't have to use the Credit Non-Qualifying Points to Members Data Processing Engine definition in a flow to update points balance. When you make a credit type points adjustment for members or for transaction journals, points are automatically credited to the associated members' points balance.

Enabling real-time balance update doesn’t impact real-time point movement to escrow.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Loyalty Management, and then select Loyalty Management Settings.
  2. Turn on Update non-qualifying point balance of loyalty program members in real time.

After you turn on this setting, create loyalty program processes or flows to process Transaction Journal records and use the Credit Points action to credit non-qualifying points in real time.
