Inventory Count Workflow

Manage inventory count plans, determine products to be counted, perform inventory counts at designated locations, and track count results.

Salesforce Admin

Salesforce admins set up Inventory Count, grant permissions to users, and set up the Salesforce Field Service mobile app.

  1. Enable Inventory Count in Setup.
  2. Assign the required permissions, tab permissions, and object permissions for Inventory Count.
  3. Set up and configure the Salesforce Field Service mobile app.

Inventory Manager

Inventory managers plan and schedule inventory counts, assign the product to be counted to inventory auditors, and monitor count progress.

  1. Create inventory count plans.
  2. Add product items to inventory count plans and assign them to auditors.
  3. To track in-progress and completed inventory counts, open the relevant inventory count product item records.

Inventory Auditor

Inventory auditors perform inventory counts at designated locations and note observations and comments.

  1. To track the product items to be counted by an assignee at designated locations on specific days, open the inventory count assessments in the Salesforce Field Service mobile app.
  2. To capture inventory counts, use the Salesforce Field Service mobile app. See Perform Inventory Count by Using Salesforce Field Service Mobile App.
