## Salesforce Admin

Salesforce admins set up Inventory Count, grant permissions to users, and set up the Salesforce Field Service mobile app.

1. [Enable Inventory Count in Setup](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.aslm_inventorycount_enable.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To set up and use Inventory Count, turn on Inventory Count in Setup.").
2. [Assign the required permissions, tab permissions, and object permissions for Inventory Count](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.aslm_inventorycount_permission_set.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Salesforce admins, inventory managers, and inventory auditors require permissions to set up, manage, and perform inventory counts.").
3. [Set up and configure the Salesforce Field Service mobile app](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.aslm_inventorycount_field_service_app.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "The Salesforce Field Service mobile app is an intuitive, offline-first app that helps companies manage their field service and onsite operations. Inventory auditors can easily enter product counts, scan product barcodes, and note count observations by using the app. Set up the Salesforce Field Service mobile app, and customize it based on your unique processes. To help auditors perform counts, add the Inventory Count Assessment list view to a Salesforce Field Service app configuration by using the Field Service Mobile App Builder.").

## Inventory Manager

Inventory managers plan and schedule inventory counts, assign the product to be counted to inventory auditors, and monitor count progress.

1. [Create inventory count plans](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.aslm_inventorycount_create_plan.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Inventory managers can create cycle and ad hoc inventory counts for different inventory locations. Schedule count plans for different locations based on your operational needs, regulatory requirements, and business cycles. To reduce administrative overhead, you can use Location Hierarchies to perform inventory counts across hierarchical structures, such as warehouses or service fleets, without creating separate plans for each room, aisle, or vehicle belonging to the location for which the inventory plan was created. Set a schedule for counts for a plan by specifying when counts start and end, how often counts occur, and the window for performing each count. The schedules of inventory count plans determine the schedules of inventory count assessments.").
2. [Add product items to inventory count plans and assign them to auditors](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.aslm_inventorycount_add_product_items_to_plan.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Inventory managers can easily add product items to inventory count plans and assign the inventory auditors to count the product items. For each set of product items added to a count plan, inventory managers define if the count is a blind count and provide count instructions to auditors. After product items are added to count plans, Inventory Count Plan Item records are created. These records are created or updated: Inventory Count Assessment and Inventory Count Product Item.").
3. To track in-progress and completed inventory counts, open the relevant inventory count product item records.

## Inventory Auditor

Inventory auditors perform inventory counts at designated locations and note observations and comments.

1. To track the product items to be counted by an assignee at designated locations on specific days, open the inventory count assessments in the Salesforce Field Service mobile app.
2. To capture inventory counts, use the Salesforce Field Service mobile app. See [Perform Inventory Count by Using Salesforce Field Service Mobile App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.aslm_inventorycount_count_products.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Inventory auditors can record inventory counts for serialized and non-serialized products at inventory locations by using the Salesforce Field Service mobile app. Quickly capture counts by entering count details or scanning product barcodes. Note the reasons for count discrepancies and key instructions, observations, or contextual details. If you count products in batches, or if the counting is interrupted, save your count progress intermittently and resume your count later.").
