Inventory Allocation Setup

Set up and configure Inventory Allocation to automate or manually manage the allocation of product items.

• Inventory Allocation is currently enabled for serialized products only through APIs and is not enabled for batch products.
• Auto allocation is a UI driven feature. APIs are not yet available for the auto allocation workflow.

• Inventory Allocation Data Model
  The Inventory Allocation data model includes objects and fields that help you track inventory and manage allocations across inventory locations.
• Inventory Allocation Permissions
  Salesforce admins and inventory managers require specific permissions to configure, create, and manage inventory allocations.
• Enable Inventory Allocation
  To set up and use Inventory Allocation, turn on Inventory Allocation in Setup.
• Add the Inventory Allocation Component to Record Pages
  Add the Inventory Allocation component to Order and Work Order record pages, allowing users to view and trigger allocations for products available as line items. The Inventory Allocation component can be added to the record pages using the Lightning App Builder.
