To ensure that you’ve successfully configured your org and set up a rebate program, complete the tasks specified in this checklist. We’ve only listed the minimum steps required to run payout calculations for a member in a standard rebate program. You can always customize and extend the application with data processing engine definitions, batch management jobs, flow actions, and custom objects and fields.
- Create a rebate program, and then define the payout frequency.
- Generate payout periods for the program.
- Enroll at least one
member account in the rebate program.
Note Ensure that all enrolled members are in Active status. Payouts are not calculated for members in Draft or Inactive status. - Identify the Data Processing Engine template that works best for your rebate type. Depending on your aggregation requirements, choose the appropriate definition.
- To aggregate data for payout calculations, clone the applicable Data Processing Engine definition. Activate the definition to use in a rebate type record.
- Create a rebate type for the rebate program and specify the aggregation method, calculation method, measure type, and other fields. Select the cloned and active data processing engine definition as the calculation definition.
- Add benefits to the
rebate type by creating at least two benefit tiers.
Note You must define at least one Rebate Benefit record for the Rebate Type. If benefit records are missing, the Rebate Orchestration Flow will complete, but no Member Payout records will be created. - To include or exclude a member’s transactions based on specific rules, define eligibility criteria for the rebate type.
- Populate records in the Transaction Journal for the member that you enrolled earlier. Ensure that the Activity Date value in the transaction records falls within the start and end dates of a payout period, as defined in the program.
- Clone and activate the Rebate Orchestration Flow template, and then run it for the rebate program that you created.
- Track the progress of jobs by using Monitor Workflow Services.
- After the flow run is successful, on the Payout tab of a Rebate Program Member record, verify the calculated amounts.
- For a deeper analysis of how payouts are calculated from transactions, in the Rebate Member Product Aggregate object, view the aggregate values.
