Accrual transactions occur when a member performs an activity that earns them points. For
example, an activity can be a product purchase from a host business or partner, a bonus, or any
other business interaction. The business is responsible for payment when the member redeems or
makes a claim for rewards.

In accrual processing, points are credited to the members using business flow in a batch
mode. You can schedule a job to process the accrual transactions.
Creating an accrual process involves these steps:
- Create a flow to update data in your Salesforce org, and activate it.
- Create a batch job to process the flow.
- Create a scheduled flow that determines when a batch job runs, and activate it.
- Based on the schedule, use Monitor Workflow Services to check the status of your batch
job.
If accrual processes credit qualifying points for member activities where the activity date
is before members' last qualifying points reset date, the credited qualifying points are
automatically expired. An Expiry-type loyalty ledger is created to expire the credited
qualifying points and is associated with the activity's transaction journal.
