Allocate commitments and transactions to specific or general funds or designations.
This release is in preview. Features described in this document don't become generally available until the latest general availability date that Salesforce announces for this release. Before then, and where features are noted as beta, pilot, or developer preview, we can't guarantee general availability within any particular time frame or at all. Make your purchase decisions only on the basis of generally available products and features. Linked documentation might not include the new features or the links in these release notes might not work yet.
Where: These features apply to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Fundraising is enabled.
Who: Users with the FundraisingAccess permission set can create and manage gift commitments.
Why: Fundraising supports Gift Default Designations and Gift Designations. Commitments, campaigns, and major gifts can define the default fund to which all gifts associated with them are automatically allocated. This default allocation is a Gift Default Designation. All other allocations assigned to gift transactions that are not default designations, are Gift Designations. Gift transactions can have portions of the total gift allocated to more than one designation. For example, a gift can be allocated 50% to the default designation and 50% to a specific fund (gift designation).
