Create and Merge Party Relationship Groups Using UI Flows with Ease
Save time when you create and merge party relationship groups. Using the New Group UI flow, case managers can group participants belonging to a collective unit, like a household, as members of a party relationship group, and specify member roles and relationships. They can also add related contacts, groups, and business accounts, and specify relationships with the group and its members. Using the Merge UI flow, case managers can combine two-party relationship groups and create a group having members, related contacts, and other related records from both the groups.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions.
Who: To create party relationship groups using the New Group UI flow, case managers need the Group Membership permission from the Group Membership permission set license. To merge party relationship groups using the Merge UI flow, case managers need the Group Membership and the Merge and Split Groups permissions from the Group Membership permission set license.
Why: Case managers can group case or complaint participants or participants forming a collective unit, such as a household, using the streamlined New Group UI flow. Previously, case managers created a party relationship group and then created a record for each member, related contact, group, or business account that they had to add to the group. They created a record for every relationship between two members and between a member and a related contact. Similarly, they created records for relationships between the group and its related groups and business accounts. The New Group UI flow creates these various records based on the details entered by the case manager. The flow simplifies the grouping of participants and reduces data entry effort for case managers.
Case managers can merge one group with another group using the Merge UI flow. Previously, to move members, related contacts, or other records from one group to another, case managers updated relationship records that specified group association. The Merge UI flow updates relationship records based on case manager input. The flow simplifies the merge operation and reduces the effort for case managers.
