Address Standardization Results

View the results of an address standardization update.

  1. Click the Update Schedule tab.

  2. Find the job in the In Progress and Past Updates section. Jobs can be in one of these states:

    • In progress jobs are indicated by an In Progress Ring icon.

    • Successfully completed jobs have a white checkmark inside a green circle.

    • Partially successful jobs are signified by a white checkmark inside an orange circle.

  3. Click the address standardization update you want to see.

  4. Click a tab to see results:

    • Overview: See the number of addresses standardized, the total number of addresses reviewed, and the number of errors.

    • All Updates: See the status for each address that was reviewed. You can also search by address or status.

    • Details: See details about the update, including the start and finish date and time.

    • Errors: See a list of errors that were found during the update. Run the job again if you get any errors.

  5. Optionally, from the All Updates tab, click the Download button to obtain a CSV file with all addresses in the update, including the current address, prior address, and status.

After an address standardization update, you'll also see these changes on Address records:

  • The Verified checkbox will be selected for all addresses that were evaluated in the update.

  • The Verified Date will be updated for all addresses that were evaluated in the update.

  • The Ambiguous checkbox will be selected on addresses for which no matching address was found.

Error Handling

Data Integrity has a robust system for logging transient Melissa Data and core API errors, as well as automatically attempting retries on failure.

This system:

  • Breaks large requests for Addresses from the CRM into a number of batches, enabling job processing to continue regardless of failure for a subset of these batches. The average batch contains about 30,000 records.

  • Displays error count for partially successful address standardization jobs on the Overview tab of the results interface.

Furthermore, after receiving an error:

  • Failed API calls to Melissa Data for Address Standardization, NCOA, and Contact Standardization updates are automatically retried in case of network errors. Each batch sent to Melissa Data contains up to 100 records. Data Integrity attempts 3 retries per batch.

  • Data Integrity automatically attempts retries following errors fetching access tokens from the CRM Core API. The application attempts up to 4 retries over 5 seconds.

Data Integrity does not attempt a retry and the job fails in these scenarios:

  • Melissa Data SmartMover license key has expired or is invalid.
  • Melissa Data service is down.

If you have a partially successful Address Standardization, NCOA, or Contact Standardization job:

  • Review the Data Integrity installation prerequisites and complete any missed steps.

  • View the Manage Bulk Data Load Jobs within Salesforce Setup.

Then run the job again.
