Prepare Your Data for Success

With Data Integrity, schedule updates to make sure that all existing and new additions to your database stay clean. Set up rules to find duplicates, then view and merge those duplicates with a few clicks.

To learn more about Data Integrity, we’d like to introduce you to Max Bristol, a development associate at SF Scholars. SF Scholars is a nonprofit organization that promotes social and economic equity through educational enrichment and college readiness programs. Both Max and SF Scholars are fictional, but we think you’ll relate to their challenges.

Max manages a large database with hundreds of thousands of supporters. He has to manage multiple third party vendors to ensure that addresses are standardized, capture address changes when constituents move, and catch duplicates. There are a lot of duplicates! Max also has to make sure all of the third party updates make their way back to Salesforce. Max sometimes felt overwhelmed with the tedious task of keeping constituent information up-to-date.

Max now uses Data Integrity to help his organization streamline and automate data management processes by improving the quality of constituent information. Data Integrity gives him the ability to:

  • Standardize global address to ensure constituent addresses follow the postal service standards for a specific locale. This includes a region's city names, street abbreviations, and more.
  • Update constituent information by leveraging data in the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) database.

  • Use contact management tools to find and merge duplicate Contacts in Salesforce using Contact Merge and Duplicate Jobs.

  • Use Contact Standardization to ensure that you have validated communication methods as well as updates for deceased status and planned giving to increase efficiency for marketing outreach and planned giving.

Using Data Integrity Max can schedule updates to make sure that all existing and new additions to the database stay clean. He can also set up rules to find duplicates, then view and merge those duplicates with just a few clicks.

Max is back to volunteering for social and economic equity. He now has time to spare with the hours saved using Data Integrity!
