Create and manage transfer equivalency relationships and the entire transfer credit process from a single place in Education Cloud that automatically matches and suggests credits. Registrars can use the guided process to review submitted documentation and to articulate transfer credit requests. Applicants request estimates for transferable credits directly in the application portal on the Experience Cloud site.

Provide eligible applicants with the means to accelerate their learning journey, helping them save time, effort, and fees by granting transfer credits. The registrar staff can consider an applicant's transfer credit application if the applicant has:
- Prior learning experience from another educational institution in the same or similar offering
- Relevant work experience that qualifies them to be of higher academic standing
- Certifications from recognized institutions or assessment standards, such as prior learning assessments or the College-Level Examination Program
- Military experience
Registrars configure a Transfer Credit stage in admissions applications to receive transfer credit evaluation requests. Applicants can request transfer credit estimates for prior learning directly on the Experience Cloud application portal. To request estimates, applicants enter prior learning details and upload supporting documents. If they received unofficial transfer credit estimates from the Transfer Credit Agent, applicants can reuse these to prefill their applications. When an applicant submits their information, the application automatically creates official transfer credit requests.
When the applicant enrolls, the approved transfer credits apply toward their program requirements.
Example: Prospective applicant who wants to transfer to your institution
John, a transfer applicant, is seeking to transition from a sending institution (community college) to your university's Computer Science program. During the admissions cycle, John submits his official academic transcripts for a formal transfer credit evaluation.
The Office of the Registrar reviews his coursework to determine articulation. They analyze his Math 181: Calculus 1 (4 Credits) against the university's MATH 31A: Differential and Integral Calculus (4 semester units). By reviewing the course syllabus and learning outcomes, the registrar establishes a direct equivalency.
- Set Up Your Org for Transfer Credits
Configure Education Cloud so learners can submit transfer credit requests and transcripts, and staff can review and process them. - Set Up Transfer Credit for Applicants
Configure the TransferCreditWrapper Omniscript, add a Transfer Credit dynamic application stage, and set up Experience Cloud access so that applicants can submit transfer credit information. - Set Up Transfer Credit Requests from an Experience Cloud Site
Current students can request official transfer credit for prior learning directly from an Experience Cloud site. Students open the transfer credit application from a Unified Catalog service, add their prior learning, and submit a request. - Set Up Learning Equivalency Rules
Set up learning records and equivalencies to evaluate applicants’ prior learning for transfer credit. Map source achievements to the achievements your institution grants, then publish and activate the equivalency. These rules serve as the source of truth for your articulation and admissions staff. - Set Up Learning Equivalency for Registrar
To map an equivalency between the external and internal learnings, configure the Learning Equivalency record page. - Manage Transfer Credit Requests
Evaluate transfer credit requests to determine which prior academic credits meet your institution’s requirements. The registrar reviews submitted materials to establish which previously earned credits meet necessary standards. The final list of accepted transfer credits determines the applicant's time to complete a degree.
