There are many types of mentoring that can occur in an institution, such as networking, skill development, academic guidance, and career development. Let's look at how Astro University can involve alumni to provide current students with their career preparation.
First, Astro University creates a benefit type called Mentoring. Next, they create a mentoring benefit that connects current students with alumni who can offer guidance on possible careers and connections in their field of study. Now that they have the benefit created, Astro University needs someone to be a mentor who can provide this specific benefit. Robert Alumnus graduated from Astro University with a degree in Economics. He can act as a mentor to current Economics students at Astro University and offer insight on career opportunities in Economics. Astro University can add Robert as a benefit provider in the CRM, or he can register as a benefit provider on Astro University's mentor portal.
