Before you create a learning program plan:

Institutions can import their existing course catalog easily by using the Course Catalog Business APIs. See Education Cloud Business APIs.

To create a learning program plan:

  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Learning Program Plans.
  2. To open Program Plan Builder, click New Program Plan.
  3. Enter the name of the parent learning program, and then click Next.
  4. Enter the plan details and save your changes.
    Note
Note Property panels dynamically render fields from the default page layout that's assigned to the running user. The property panel doesn’t include the Active field that’s part of the learning program plan page layout.
  5. Add elements to the program plan such as categories, required courses, and elective courses, and then save your changes to the course and category node details.
To include a category in a course node's property panel, place the course node in a category node.
  6. To add learning course versions in any element, click Add Courses, search for and select the active versions, and then click Add Selected.
When you search for courses, the results show only active versions. If a course has more than one active version, a version number distinguishes them so that you select the correct one. Any version of a course satisfies its program requirement.
  7. To save your changes to the program plan, click Save Draft or Save & Close.
  8. To make the program plan available to others, click Publish.
Program plans with more than 1,000 records sometimes take longer to publish. After you publish a program plan, you can no longer edit it.
