Each educational characteristic record generates an educational characteristic requirement record. For example, when the registrar creates an Honors educational characteristic, Education Cloud creates an Honors educational characteristic requirement. The requirement is available for assignment to learnings or course offerings.
When you assign multiple educational characteristic requirements to a course, you create a relationship among these requirements. For example, if you define a requirement that accepts only senior students in Biology, you connect the Senior and Biology Major requirements with an AND relationship.
But if you have a requirement that accepts junior or senior students with the Honors status, you have multiple relationships. Use the guided setup to streamline the creation of complex rules that have multiple or grouped relationships. See Create a Rule for Multiple Educational Characteristic Requirements.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Educational Characteristic Requirement Assignments.
- Click New.
- Select an educational characteristic requirement.
-
In Assignment Record, assign the requirement to a learning or course offering.
A requirement assigned to a learning applies to learning courses and course offerings nested under it. A requirement assigned to a course offering doesn't apply to the parent learning course or learning.
- Save your changes.
- Repeat these steps for each educational characteristic requirement that you want to assign.
