Add a Button for Comparing Learning Programs

Create and add a button that advisors or other staff can use to launch the Compare Learning Program Plans screen flow from records such as cases.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Education Cloud
User Permissions Needed
To add a button to a page layout:

Education Cloud Full Access

AND

View Setup & Configuration

AND

Customize Application
  1. From the management settings for the object you want to modify, select Buttons, Links, and Actions.
  2. Click New Button or Link.
  3. In Label, enter Compare Program Plans. Press Tab to automatically fill the Name field.
  4. From Display Type, select Detail Page Button.
  5. From Behavior, select Display in new window.
  6. From Content Source, select URL.
  7. In the text box, enter the URL for your copy of the Compare Learning Program Plans screen flow. Make sure to include the input variable for the object and a return URL.
    For example, /flow/<your_flow_name>?CaseId={!Case.Id}&retUrl=/{!Case.Id}
  8. Save your changes.
  9. From the object management settings for Case, select Page Layouts.
  10. Click the page layout where you want to add the button.
  11. In Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions, click Override the predefined actions.
  12. Click Buttons, and then drag your button to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.
  13. Arrange the buttons as necessary, and then save your changes.
