Troubleshoot Issues with Transaction Journal Record Creation

To troubleshoot challenges with the creation of transaction journal records in Accounting Subledger, check your org setup and subledger job.

Note
Note Accounting Subledger doesn’t support manual creation of transaction journal records.

Check Your Basic Setup

If you're having problems with the creation of transaction journal records, try these troubleshooting tips.

  • Make sure that your org has the required Accounting Subledger licenses.

  • Assign the appropriate permission set to the Admin user, including the Data Pipelines Base User, Manage Accounting Subledger, and Run Accounting Subledger Job permission sets.

  • Assign the appropriate feature permission set, such as Fundraising Access or Grantmaking Manager permission set, to the Integration User.

  • Set field-level security for all fields on the objects that are used in your Accounting Set for the Analytics Cloud Integration User and Admin profiles.

  • Enable Transaction Journal Creation in Accounting Settings.

  • Make sure that you can create and activate an Accounting Set.

  • Enable Data Pipelines in your org.

  • Verify that the client's data in the org matches the Accounting Set configuration.

No Transaction Journal Created After a Subledger Job Run

If a subledger job finishes but doesn't create a transaction journal record, try these steps.

  • Remove any filter criteria in the accounting set and then run the subledger job again.

  • Create a simple accounting set with a single-object model, for example, by using only the Opportunity object. Deactivate all other accounting sets and run the subledger job with only this accounting set. If the transaction journal record is created, then it's possible that there's something wrong with the configuration of your accounting set.

  • Create and run a simple Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition. Accounting Subledger relies on DPE to process data and create transaction journal records. If the DPE job fails, check DPE for potential issues.
