Accounting Subledger Limitations

Troubleshoot the limits, limitations, and setup considerations for running Accounting Subledger.

REQUIRED EDITIONS

Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Accounting Subledger
Note
Note This guide provides information on how to use the Accounting Subledger product that's built on the core Salesforce platform and that was introduced in March 2023. For information about the managed packaged version of Accounting Subledger, see Accounting Subledger Legacy Documentation. If you're not sure which version your institution uses, check with your Salesforce admin.

Multiple Currencies

Accounting Subledger converts all data to the default currency of the integration user. Make sure that the default currency of the integration user is the same as the default currency of the writeback user. If you have multiple Salesforce orgs, make sure that the default currency is the same across all orgs. The writeback user saves the accounting set.

Accounting Sets Character Limits

Make sure that your custom field that maps to Check/Reference Number on an accounting set doesn’t exceed 40 characters. Entries with more than 40 characters can create errors in Subledger jobs.

Accounting Sets Processing Limits

When you create and process accounting sets, make sure that Accounting Subledger jobs don't run for more than 30 hours per month. To increase your monthly limit, contact your account executive. See Data Processing Engine Limits, Data Pipelines Limits, and Data Cloud Limits and Guidelines.

To review your current usage, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Pipelines, and then select Getting Started.

Accounting Sets Criteria Settings

You can't select these fields in an accounting set's criteria settings to filter the records that you want to process:

  • CloneSourceId
  • IsDeleted
  • LastReferenceDate
  • LastViewedDate

  • Any compound field such as an address or a geolocation

Moreover, you can't select fields with these data types:

  • Address
  • Base 64
  • Complex value
  • Encrypted string
  • Location
  • Long type string
  • Time
  • URL

Activation of Accounting Sets in Sandbox Orgs

If you can't activate accounting sets in your sandbox org, you must create journal type records. Salesforce admins with the Manage Accounting Subledger permission set can run this anonymous apex to create journal type records if they aren't already present.

List<JournalType> journalTypes = new List<JournalType>();

journalTypes.add(
    new JournalType(
		Name = 'Allocation',
        Description = 'Allocation journal type',
        ProcessType = 'AccountingSubledger'
    )
);
journalTypes.add(
    new JournalType(
		Name = 'Payment',
        Description = 'Payment journal type',
        ProcessType = 'AccountingSubledger'
    )
);
journalTypes.add(
    new JournalType(
		Name = 'Transaction',
        Description = 'Transaction journal type',
        ProcessType = 'AccountingSubledger'
    )
);

insert journalTypes;

Data Processing Engine Job Performance

Accounting Subledger uses Data Processing Engine (DPE) and CRM Analytics. This layered technology determines how memory is used for batch jobs of different sizes. Users with low record volumes in their batches can experience long-running DPE jobs. If you encounter long run times, contact Salesforce support to adjust your memory settings.
