After you install Salesforce Maps, give users access before they configure or use it. Users must have the correct platform-level permission set licenses and be assigned to a Salesforce Maps permission group. The permission group controls what users can do with Maps, such as edit fields or export data, and which buttons they see.
To give users access, assign permission set licenses and permission sets, and then create and assign a Salesforce Maps permission group.
For guidance on choosing between default and custom permission sets, see Choosing Between Default and Custom Permission Sets.
- Assign Permission Set Licenses and Permission Sets
Enable the Maps permission set licenses on each user, and then assign the matching permission set so your users can access the Maps products you purchased. - Create and Assign Salesforce Maps Permission Groups
A permission group defines what users can do inside Maps, such as edit fields, export data, or create data layers. Create a group and assign it to your users. - Default vs. Custom Permission Sets for Salesforce Maps
Salesforce strongly recommends using the default permission sets for most orgs. Salesforce automatically updates default permission sets with every release, so your users always have access to new features without admin intervention.
