Considerations for Maps Mobile Enhanced

The redesigned Salesforce Maps app brings the full power of the desktop to the field. With a responsive, mobile-first design, reps can access the same features they rely on—optimized for speed and easier usage on the go.

Impacted Feature Area Differences and Availability
Overall app experience The Salesforce Maps mobile app now aligns more closely with the desktop version. Work with a familiar interface with expanded controls and layouts that match your desktop workspace, making it easier to switch between devices.
Navigation Access your navigation at the bottom of your phone screen, or use the convenient left sidebar on your tablet.
Feature Availability You can now use many of your favorite desktop features directly in Salesforce Maps mobile. The mobile layout is streamlined to show you the most relevant tools for the field while keeping the interface clean and easy to navigate.
Map Layers

View the same layers that you use on your desktop directly within the mobile app. While these layers are currently read only on mobile, you can still use them to guide your day.

The new interface replaces the previous three-dot action menus.

Layer Actions A simplified dropdown control replaces the old three-dot menu for faster navigation. To keep the mobile experience focused on field execution, certain desktop-specific tasks—like data correction workflows—remain available exclusively on your desktop.
Routes List The mobile route list now provides the same rich detail as on the desktop. This enhanced view replaces the previous simplified list, giving you more information about your day without needing to switch devices.
Active Route View Expanded route controls help you manage your schedule on the go. Go to your next stop instantly with the new Take Me There action. This streamlined interface focuses on essential mobile tools by replacing the Print and Email options.
Route Stop Reordering A specific drag handle now enables stop reordering while preventing accidental changes as you scroll. Simply grab the handle to move a stop to a new position, ensuring the route stays exactly as planned.
Schedule View The mobile schedule now mirrors the desktop calendar layout, helping you focus on one day at a time. To keep your field view clear and precise, you can view one user’s schedule for a single day.
Schedule Actions Expanded schedule actions provide a more powerful mobile experience. Use the Move Unlocked Events feature to stay flexible while out and about. This streamlined layout prioritizes frequent field tasks, so the Clone Schedule action stays exclusively on your desktop.
Current Location

You can now switch Current Location directly on the map. When you turn on this feature, the app automatically calculates your travel time from your front door to your first scheduled event, helping you stay on track from the moment you start your route.

List View The mobile list view now mirrors the desktop experience, providing a consistent look and feel across your devices. You can still use filters to organize your data, though the search bar within the list view is no longer available in this updated layout.
Selected Tab (List View) The Selected tab is no longer part of the mobile experience. This change carries over into the new enhanced version, ensuring a cleaner and more focused workspace on your phone or tablet.
Search The search tool now uses the same component as the desktop version. While you’ll notice a refreshed interface, the functionality remains consistent, ensuring you can find your data quickly and easily while in the field.
Search Along Route Searching for locations along a route isn’t available currently.
Map Interactions Experience more flexibility in the field with expanded map interactions. Long-press to drop a pin, draw custom polygons to define areas, and explore your data with a more tactile, intuitive interface.
Tooltips Tooltips appear differently on mobile. Instead of appearing near the item on the map, they snap to the bottom of the screen for easier viewing on smaller displays.
Action Menus Visible buttons and simplified controls replace the three-dot overflow menus. Now, the most important actions stay in sight, allowing for faster task completion without extra clicks.
Touch Interactions Larger buttons and interactive elements ensure Salesforce Maps remains easy to navigate on any screen. These updates provide a more comfortable experience, helping you take action quickly and accurately while on the move
