When you add content to an unpublished release from Trailmaker Release, you’re adding only each content’s manifest item, which specifies the content’s API name, type, and operation. For any content with the Upsert operation, go to Trailmaker Content and also add the corresponding content to the release. This step ensures that the backpack for new or updated content is uploaded to the release. To learn more, review Considerations for Managing Releases.
Tip In general, we recommend that you always use
Trailmaker Content to upsert an individual item in a release. You save a few clicks,
avoid potential confusion, and add the manifest item and backpack in the same
action.
Note
- You can upsert a trail or a module but not a unit.
- To add a unit to an existing module, add the module to the release. Even if you’re fixing a small error in one unit, you add the entire module.
- You can publish modules individually or as part of a trail, but you can’t publish a trail without modules.
- To add the items that you want to upsert, complete the steps in Add Items to a Release from Trailmaker Release. Be sure to specify the Upsert operation for each item.
- Go to Trailmaker Content and add the corresponding content to the release. This step ensures that the backpack for new or updated content is uploaded to the release. Complete the steps in Add Content to a Release from Trailmaker Content.
