Who: To configure and manage advanced approval flows, such as review, recall, cancel, override, and reassign, you need the CLM Admin permission set license. To submit, recall, review, and reject approvals, users need a CLM Runtime permission set license.
Why: Contract approval processes often involve multiple stakeholders and different approval paths depending on business rules. For example, contracts above a defined price threshold can require approval from both legal and sales managers before moving to a final approval step by a sales vice president. Advanced Approvals supports these multistage approval scenarios with parallel and serial approval steps.
How: Create an approval workflow by configuring Advanced Approvals configuration in Revenue Management. Create a contract type configuration for the Advanced Contract Approval Flow. Submitting a contract for approval starts the Advanced Approvals process instead of the standard platform approval process.
