# Route Contract Approvals with Advanced Approvals

Manage complex contract approval workflows by using Advanced Approvals with Salesforce Contracts. Route approvals through multilevel chains, conditional routing based on contract fields such as contract value, and approval groups such as legal or finance teams. Approvers receive notifications and approve or reject contracts directly from email.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Agentforce Revenue Management, formerly Revenue Cloud, with the Revenue Cloud Advanced or Salesforce Contracts license.

**Who:** To configure and manage advanced approval flows, such as review, recall, cancel, override, and reassign, you need the CLM Admin permission set license. To submit, recall, review, and reject approvals, users need a CLM Runtime permission set license.

**Why:** Contract approval processes often involve multiple stakeholders and different approval paths depending on business rules. For example, contracts above a defined price threshold can require approval from both legal and sales managers before moving to a final approval step by a sales vice president. Advanced Approvals supports these multistage approval scenarios with parallel and serial approval steps.

**How:** Create an approval workflow by configuring Advanced Approvals configuration in Revenue Management. Create a contract type configuration for the Advanced Contract Approval Flow. Submitting a contract for approval starts the Advanced Approvals process instead of the standard platform approval process.
