Use API Catalog to map prompt templates to tools in your custom Salesforce MCP servers. These tools make your prompt templates available through Salesforce-hosted MCP servers to external clients like Claude or ChatGPT.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions.
When: This feature is generally available in June 2026.
How: In Setup, in API Catalog MCP Servers, select the Salesforce tab. Select a custom MCP server, and make sure that you deactivate it if it’s active. Click Add Server Assets, and then select Add Tools. Select Prompts, and then select a prompt template. After you save, edit the tools to tailor them to your needs.
