Resolve JSON payload issues when managing user identity with the System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM). When you send an incorrectly formatted payload to a SCIM endpoint, Salesforce now returns a descriptive error message.
Where: This change applies to all editions.
How: Any improper formatting in your SCIM JSON payload can trigger this error. Here’s the new error message:
{
"message": "Processing/execution error: check the format of your request payload. If you still have issues, contact Support and share this error ID: {error ID}",
"errorCode": "UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION"
}
Previously, Salesforce returned a generic error message for this scenario:
{
"message": "An unexpected error occurred. Please include this ErrorId if you contact support: {error ID}",
"errorCode": "UNKNOWN_EXCEPTION"
}
Here’s an example scenario for this error. In this request to update a User object, the
value attribute is incorrectly formatted as an array: "value": [ {
"nickName": "user2"}]. To fix the error, remove the square brackets
[] so that it’s formatted as an object: "value": { "nickName":
"user2"}
