Use Advanced Settings to Manage Seeding Templates in Salesforce

Fine-tune your seeding templates using advanced settings to optimize the seeding process. Prevent duplicate object records with auto-cloned object matching. Adjust the default batch size to avoid timeout errors during seeding.

  1. In the Template Builder tab, click Edit to enter Edit mode for the seeding template.
  2. Click the three dots on the right.
    The template's context menu opens.
  3. From the menu, select Advanced Settings.
    Note
Note The ContentDocument Handling section does not appear in the Advanced Settings dialog of Levels templates, as its options are only available for Nodes templates.
    The Advanced Settings dialog opens.
  4. From the Auto cloned objects matching settings, select whether the Seeding application, at the outset of a seeding job, identifies auto-cloned object matches that exist in both the Seeding Source and the Destination. You enable/disable auto-cloned object matching for the following Salesforce objects:
    • User
    • Product2, PriceBook, and PricebookEntry
By default, in newly created seeding templates, auto-cloned object matching is enabled for both options. If you are not seeding these objects (your seeding template does not include these objects), then consider disabling auto-cloned objects matching, as doing so reduces seeding job processing time.
  5. (Nodes templates only) From the ContentDocument Handling settings, select which content to seed as an attachment in the Destination from ContentDocument objects that exist in the Seeding Source. By default, in newly created seeding templates, the Seed dummy content option is enabled.
  6. In the Change default batch size area, click + Add to modify the default Bulk batch size for an object. By default, an object's Bulk batch size is 9999 records. You select both the object and its batch size (number of records). Click the plus button to modify the default Bulk batch size for additional objects. By default, in newly created seeding templates, this area is empty.
    Tip
Tip Own recommends to consider modifying the default Bulk batch size for an object, when a recent Seeding Report mentions timeout errors that occurred when attempting to seed that object.
  7. Click Save.
  8. In the Template Builder tab, click Publish.
Clicking Publish makes any advanced setting updates available to everyone using the affected seeding template to execute seeding jobs.
