Considerations to Set Up Lifecycle Center

Review these considerations before you set up Lifecycle Center.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience in Professional (API access required), Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
Not Available in: Government Cloud Plus. Contact your Salesforce account executive for more details.
Not available in: EU Operating Zone. EU Operating zone is a special paid offering that provides an enhanced level of data residency commitment. Lifecycle Center is supported in orgs in the EU that aren’t part of EU OZ, per standard product terms and conditions.

Lifecycle Center is available by default. The org where you set up Lifecycle Center is called the Lifecycle Center Hub org. Access Lifecycle Center from the App Launcher, then connect it to any environment that you use for development, testing, and final release.

  • Use only one product at a time: either Lifecycle Center or DevOps Center (Managed Package). We recommend that you first disable DevOps Center (Managed Package).
  • Only a Lifecycle Center Admin can set up Lifecycle Center.
  • You can't set up Lifecycle Center in a sandbox. Sandboxes can be connected to your pipeline as development or testing environments, but the Lifecycle Center Hub org itself can’t be a sandbox. See Evaluate DevOps Center in a Non-Production Org.
  • Connect your development orgs, pipeline environments, and release orgs from within Lifecycle Center.
  • Use GitHub.com cloud-based plans, including GitHub Enterprise Cloud, or Bitbucket Cloud for source control.
  • Starting July 1, 2026, Salesforce requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) for users with certain permissions. Users working in development environments and deployment managers promoting to orgs may need to set up MFA according to their organization's security requirements. See Multi-Factor Authentication for Salesforce Orgs and Prepare Your Org for Salesforce MFA Enforcement.
