Guest users can modify appointments to reschedule them or change service resources,
and cancel appointments. To notify guest users of their scheduled appointment, configure
email notifications by using the available email templates. The email templates include the
links that invoke the flow that modifies and cancels a guest user service appointment. If a
guest user cancels the appointment, the confirmation email template includes a link to
create another appointment.

Keep these things in mind when managing guest service appointments.
- Guest users receive email notifications only when they create service
appointments by using the Inbound New Guest Appointment flow. If guest users
create a service appointment by using another flow, they can’t modify or cancel
their appointment themselves.
- Guest users can modify or cancel their service appointment only by using the
link in the appointment confirmation email. If they don’t receive the email,
they must ask the service resource with whom they’ve scheduled the appointment
to modify or cancel the appointment.
- Confirmation emails that guest users receive for creation, modification, and
cancellation of their service appointments don’t include an ICS file.
- If guest users create an appointment by using Salesforce Scheduler APIs, they
don’t receive email notifications.
- Guest users can’t modify or cancel their service appointments by using
Salesforce scheduler APIs.
- Email templates available for guest user appointment notifications include only
the WorkType, ServiceResource, User, and ServiceAppointment merge fields.
- To send email notifications to guest users, customers must create an
organization-wide email address. Ensure that the email address is verified and
that the customers select the Default No-Reply Address value for the Purpose
dropdown.
- In the Modify Guest Service Appointment flow, if you set both the
ModifyApptAnonymously and
AllowSvcResourceSelection variables to
true, then modifying the service appointment
anonymously can result in unexpected behavior.
- Salesforce Scheduler sends the notification emails when the flow runs in the
guest context and not in the system context. See Flow Run Context.
