With Salesforce Scheduler, your authenticated external users (customers and partners) can use standard flow templates to quickly schedule appointments with your employees. Users can easily search for and select the right person, topic, location, and date and time of the appointment. You can either use the provided standard flow templates or create flows based on those templates and customize them to suit your business requirement.

| Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions |
Salesforce Scheduler provides these standard flow templates for authenticated external users.
| Flow | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Inbound New Appointment |
Walks an authenticated external user through scheduling an appointment with one or more employees or contractors. You can modify this flow and make it available as an outbound flow to community users. For more information, see Make the Inbound Flow Available as an Outbound Flow. By using the modified flow, partner users, such as independent wealth advisers or automotive dealership personnel, can easily book appointments. |
| Inbound Modify Appointment |
Walks an authenticated external user through modifying a scheduled appointment. Partner users (contractors) can also use this flow to modify their appointments using Experience Cloud. |
| Inbound Cancel Appointment | Walks an authenticated external user through canceling a scheduled appointment. |
To give your authenticated external users access to inbound appointment flows, add inbound appointment flows in your Experience Cloud site.
- Grant Authenticated Users Required User and Object Permissions
To schedule appointments, authenticated users need certain user and object permissions. You can grant these permissions to users through their user profiles or permission sets. - Update Sharing Settings for Authenticated External Users Who Schedule Appointments
Use organization-wide default sharing settings to set the baseline external access for Salesforce Scheduler records. - Additional Configuration for Inbound Modify Appointment Flow
If the Event Management setting is enabled in your org, you must perform extra steps to make the Inbound Modify Appointment flow work. - Add Inbound Flows to an Experience Cloud Site
Add one or more inbound flows to your site to let your authenticated site users schedule, modify, or cancel appointments. - Make the Inbound Flow Available as an Outbound Flow
To provide the inbound flow as an outbound flow, use the Outbound flow available to community users attribute. With the outbound flow enabled, service resources who are contractors can create and manage service appointments for either an account, opportunity, or lead. Contractors can also request their assistants to book appointments on their behalf.
