Considerations for Multiple Service Resource Events

Here are some things to keep in mind for events that have multiple service resources.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience.
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions
  • A multiple service resource event is created only when the primary service resource has the Edit Event permission.
  • If a non-primary service resource doesn’t have the Edit Event permission, then Scheduler doesn't add that service resource to the event.
  • Attendees RSVP isn’t supported for events that are linked to a service appointment.
  • If a service appointment exists before you enable the Multiple Service Resource Event setting, the events that are related to the appointment remain individual events and Salesforce Scheduler doesn't show the other service resources. To view the complete list of service resources, modify the existing service appointment after enabling this setting.
    Note
Note We recommend that you modify a service appointment but not the event associated with it. The changes that you make to the service appointment are automatically reflected in the event details. For example, you can add additional resources to the service appointment to reflect them in the event as attendees. Adding attendees to the event doesn’t modify the assigned resources of the service appointment. Moreover, we recommend that you use Scheduler APIs to modify service appointments.
  • If you enable the Multiple Service Resource Event setting, create an appointment using the group appointment mode, and include multiple resources along with multiple contacts as attendees for the group appointment. In this scenario, the Related list of the group service appointment doesn’t show the child events under Assigned Resource for the secondary service resources.
