Source Control Setup

Lifecycle Center uses your source control as the single source of truth for all metadata and configuration data changes across your pipeline. A repository stores your project work files, including code, text, images, and so on.

Every change your team makes is stored, tracked, and managed in the source control repository. This gives everyone a reliable, shared record at any point in time. Before you create a project, pipeline, and work item, connect Lifecycle Center to a supported source control provider.

  • Update IP Allowlist for Lifecycle Center
If your source control has IP restrictions, add the required Lifecycle Center IP addresses. Apply these to both the Lifecycle Center Hub org and the target org used by DX Inspector.
  • Set Up GitHub as Your Source Control
Configure your GitHub repository to store project files and manage team access.
  • Set Up Bitbucket as Your Source Control
Configure your Bitbucket Cloud repository to store project files and manage team access. Each Lifecycle Center pipeline requires its own Bitbucket Cloud repository as the single source of truth.
  • Connect to the Source Control Repository
Connect your GitHub or Bitbucket repository to Lifecycle Center. On connecting, Lifecycle Center creates feature branches and change requests. It then commits and merges changes to each pipeline stage.
