Collaborate Across Low-Code and Pro-Code Development
Lifecycle Center supports cross-functional teams with different responsibilities and development approaches. Admins, low-code and pro-code developers, release managers, quality assurance specialists, and other business stakeholders collaborate in a shared change and release management workflow.
Team members can use declarative builders, write code in Salesforce Extensions for VS Code or Agentforce Vibes IDE, or use Salesforce CLI. Lifecycle Center provides visibility into changes regardless of the tools that each team member uses.
Manage releases from the Lifecycle Center point-and-click interface, directly from the source control system, or with both. Lifecycle Center manages source control branches so that developers and builders can focus on development tasks.
Lifecycle Center captures configuration and code changes in a source control system, providing a single source of truth throughout the release process. Use Lifecycle Center as an alternative to change sets.
Check out this video, which explains how to manage and release changes in Salesforce using sandboxes and Lifecycle Center.
Choose Your Version
Lifecycle Center and DevOps Center (Managed Package) are the two versions of Salesforce's change and release management solution. While core features remain the same, Lifecycle Center is built on the Salesforce Platform and provides AI-powered assistance and governance for users and coding agents.
Lifecycle Center
Lifecycle Center is built on the Salesforce Platform and includes AI-powered capabilities, governance, and an extensible UI. It delivers significant improvements over the current DevOps Center (Managed Package). If you're new to Lifecycle Center, start with Lifecycle Center. See Set Up Lifecycle Center.
Lifecycle Center Testing is available by default, giving you automated quality enforcement at every pipeline stage, from the first review to the final promotion. From the Tests tab in your pipeline view, configure test providers, assign test suites, and set up quality gates. See Testing in Lifecycle Center.
Use Lifecycle Center Governance to define policies that guide both developers and coding agents. Governance applies these policies across your AI tools and pipelines so that user and agent actions align with your company’s security and compliance standards. See Get Started with Lifecycle Center Governance (Beta).
Already Using DevOps Center (Managed Package)?
If you've set up DevOps Center using the managed package, you can continue using it. However, we recommend that you explore Lifecycle Center to take advantage of AI-powered assistance and the improved user experience. See Salesforce Help: Install and Configure DevOps Center for details.
Ready to migrate from a managed package to Lifecycle Center? See DevOps Center Managed Package Migration (Developer Preview).

- Get Started with Lifecycle Center
Lifecycle Center brings modern application lifecycle management and release management to your whole team. Because every change is captured in source control, you get a single source of truth for your team’s changes, so admins, developers, and release managers can collaborate. Follow this learning map to set up governed development environments, coordinate work across teams, validate quality, and deploy changes predictably from development to production. - Lifecycle Center Basics
Lifecycle Center (formerly next-generation DevOps Center) uses concepts that may be new to you—pipeline, branches, work items, and source control. Before setup, understand what these are, how they connect, and how Lifecycle Center handles most of the complexity for you. - DevOps Center Managed Package Migration (Developer Preview)
Move your DevOps Center (Managed Package) projects into Lifecycle Center. Migration includes your projects, pipelines, environments, and eligible work items so your team can continue to release changes in the new experience. - Lifecycle Center
Lifecycle Center (formerly next-generation DevOps Center) brings modern DevOps best practices to your team with an AI-powered, click-based user interface (UI). Built on the principles of DevOps Center (Managed Package), Lifecycle Center serves as a central development hub where your team can collaborate—with built-in governance that keeps coding agents and users safe and compliant. - Evaluate Lifecycle Center in a Non-Production Org
Lifecycle Center is available in all orgs from the App Launcher. To evaluate it without affecting your production org, access it from a Developer Edition (DE) org and connect non-production orgs as pipeline environments. Connecting non-production orgs keeps your evaluation separate from live business data. - Plan Your Lifecycle Center Setup
Before you configure Lifecycle Center, plan how your team works and what your release process looks like. The decisions you make during setup, such as how many pipeline stages to create, which environments to connect, and which source control provider to use, shape how effectively Lifecycle Center works for your organization. - Set Up Lifecycle Center
Configure Lifecycle Center (formerly next-generation DevOps Center) to manage your release management lifecycle. Review the prerequisites, access the feature, manage users, and set up your projects and pipelines. - Set Up Lifecycle Center Testing
Configure Lifecycle Center Testing to enforce quality at every stage of your pipeline, from the first review to the final promotion into production. - Get Started with Lifecycle Center Governance (Beta)
Lifecycle Center Governance helps you maintain control and compliance across agentic development in your organization. It automatically enforces security and compliance policies, monitors coding agent activity in real time, and prevents violations before they reach your environment. - Jira Integration with Lifecycle Center
Connect Jira with Lifecycle Center to import Jira work items and retain planning context throughout development. With Jira integration, your team can reduce duplicate data entry, improve collaboration, and gain visibility into work from planning through deployment. - Get Started as a Team Member in Lifecycle Center
After your team manager or Lifecycle Center Admin sets up Lifecycle Center, they notify you when the Lifecycle Center org is ready. As part of the setup process, they create one or more projects, pipelines, and work items. They also add each team member’s source-tracked development environment. - Keep Your Development Environment in Sync
Use back sync to update your development environment with the latest changes from the first pipeline stage. Keeping your environment current helps maintain compatibility with your team’s changes and reduce merge conflicts. - DX Inspector
Connect your development environment directly to your Lifecycle Center project to manage work items and track changes without leaving your org. - Review Changes with Team Members
After you open a pull request in your source control repository, your team members and collaborators can add comments about the changes. - Get Started as a Deployment Manager in Lifecycle Center
Promote approved work items through your pipeline stages from development to production. Coordinate releases, review test results, and ensure quality changes reach production safely. You don't require a developer background for this role. - Testing Before Promotion to the Next Stage
Lifecycle Center Testing automatically runs assigned test suites before a work item advances to the next pipeline stage, ensuring only validated changes reach Integration, Staging, and Production. - Promote Changes Through Your Pipeline
Promotion moves your changes to the next stage in a Lifecycle Center pipeline. When you promote, Lifecycle Center first merges the changes from the current stage’s source control branch to the next stage’s branch, and then deploys them to the org associated with the next stage. - Version Control System Synchronization
Maintain consistency between your pipeline and your source control repository by detecting external changes and merges. - Manage Environments
Replace or remove environments in Lifecycle Center as your project evolves. Environments are the Salesforce orgs, such as sandboxes, scratch orgs, or production orgs, connected to your Lifecycle Center pipeline. Available operations depend on the environment type and pipeline activation status. - Lifecycle Center Events in Activity History
View a comprehensive timeline of key DevOps events, including commits, promotions, and synchronizations, to audit activity and troubleshoot errors. - Lifecycle Center Analytics
Enable the Analytics tab in Lifecycle Center to track and analyze development and productivity metrics. The Analytics tab includes the Agentic Development dashboard, which aggregates Agentforce Vibes activity from the last 30 days and provides analytics about AI-powered code generation, developer productivity, and AI models utilization. - Conflict Detection and Resolution
Conflicts can occur when you’re working with multiple development environments and moving changes between multiple pipeline stages. Conflicts can take different forms, and Lifecycle Center (formerly next-generation DevOps Center) provides functionality to help you identify potential conflicts early and resolve them. - Quick Start: Use Salesforce CLI with Lifecycle Center
Use Salesforce CLI to automate Lifecycle Center tasks from the command line. In this quick start, you create and activate a pipeline, manage a work item, and promote changes to the next pipeline stage. - Lifecycle Center MCP Tools and Skills
Accelerate your DevOps application lifecycle with Lifecycle Center MCP tools and skills. Use natural-language prompts in your IDE to interact with Lifecycle Center, or use skills to automate release workflows. MCP tools and skills simplify and standardize Lifecycle Center workflows. - Troubleshoot DevOps Center Errors
