Learn the key terms you'll see as you build apps with Builder Central.
- App
- What you build with Builder Central. An app can be a Lightning app, an Experience Cloud site, or a portal. The Build Agent creates its data model, automation, and interface, and where relevant adds an agent.
- Chat
- The conversational surface where you describe what you want and refine it in plain language.
- Build Agent
- The AI agent you converse with in Builder Central. It proposes the project details, builds your app, and refines it based on what you describe. It's different from an agent you add to the app you build in Builder Central.
- Workspace
- Your personal space in Builder Central, where your projects and chat history live. It's scoped to you and to the org you're working in, so it isn't shared with other users in that org.
- Explorer
- The workspace panel where you review and edit what the Build Agent creates. It holds the project details, the Design preview, and the metadata visualizations for your app.
- Project Details
- The outline the Build Agent proposes before it builds, listing the objects, agent behavior, and what the app includes. You review it and tell the Build Agent to go ahead and start building.
- Design
- The in-app view of your app's interface. During the beta, it renders the UI so you can check the layout and navigation, but it doesn't read your org's data.
- Preview org
- A clone of the data and metadata in the sandbox where you validate the app. It's tied to your project and ephemeral.
- Preview
- The button that opens your app in a preview org so you can test the app against real data. Agents aren't deployed to the preview org, so test an agent in your sandbox. Preview orgs don't include Data 360 data, so test a Data 360-grounded agent in your sandbox.
- Org Switcher
- The top-right control that shows the org you're working in and lets you switch to another connected org, much like switching orgs from your profile in Salesforce. When you switch, Builder Central reloads in the org you choose and opens your workspace there. Your workspace and projects are scoped to you, so switching to another org doesn't carry a project over or deploy your work there.
- Metadata visualizations
- Visual representations of the metadata the Build Agent generated, so you can review and understand it quickly. They're available for the data model, agents, flows, Flexipages, and permission sets. To make a change, select an element in the visualization and describe it to the Build Agent, or describe the change in chat.
- Agent
- The AI assistant you build into your app, grounded in the information you provide, so it can answer questions and take action for users.
- Setup with Agentforce
- The guided way to configure your org and troubleshoot setup tasks with Agentforce, distinct from Builder Central's build flow.
- Agentforce Vibes
- The pro-code tool used in a code editor (VS Code) when you need to write and manage code directly.
