Key Features of Backup & Recover for Salesforce

Track backups and view trends using the dashboard. Set up Smart Alerts to monitor changes to data. Search your backup history to find records and attachments. Comply with data privacy laws using tools that simplify the process.

  • Backup Service Dashboard: Track your most recent backups and use visual charts to view trends and changes per object over time.
  • Backup History: Track the type of backup (synthetic or full), status, duration, object list, API calls broken out by data vs. files, items (data and files), and any issues that occurred during the process.
  • Smart Alerts: Set up notifications that help you analyze, detect, and react to changes in your data and metadata. Get notified when backups detect that objects have been removed, changed, or added.
  • Data Privacy Tools: Handle data privacy requests, such as right to be forgotten and right to be rectified requests, related to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
  • Permissions Report: Analyze the field-level permissions in your Salesforce org. The report lists the fields that the authenticated user doesn't have permissions to access due to field-level security. This lack of permissions prevents the app from creating a complete backup.
  • Scheduled Exports: Configure endpoints and schedule exports of your latest successful backup (full or synthetic). The export details are in the Jobs tab under Scheduled Backup Export.
  • Backup Exclusions: Create rules to exclude Salesforce fields or objects that you don't want to back up. Exclusions reduce the backup time and help make sure that backups include only the most relevant data.
    • Find: Search within your backup snapshots to locate specific information. Search across all fields, standard and custom objects, Chatter feeds, and attachments. See all records matching your criteria, and compare versions across snapshots to track changes over time.
    • Compare Visually identify changes between two backups. Pinpoint discrepancies, recover lost or altered records, and make sure that the Salesforce environment stays in sync with the intended data structure.
    • Restore : Repair lost, corrupted, or deleted Salesforce data or metadata. You can restore a single record, a set of fields, or an entire dataset, rolling back to a previous backup with just a few clicks.
