Onboard the Archive Managed Package in Sandbox Environments

Onboard and manage the Archive managed package within sandbox environments, including the procedures for trial mode, and re-onboarding after a sandbox refreshes.

Note
Note This content relates to Archive. For Salesforce Archive, see Store Data Externally with Salesforce Archive.

Trial Mode Onboarding

When you install the Archive Package in trial mode:

  • A banner appears, indicating that the package is in trial mode.
  • The Archive package is fully functional.
  • The trial mode banner remains visible for 300 days.
Note
Note Reach out to your Account Executive before your trial period ends.

Re-Onboard for Refreshed Sandboxes

Salesforce sandboxes are typically refreshed every 180 days (six months). This refresh process generates a new and unique Org ID for the sandbox, meaning that re-onboarding of the Archive Package is required.

Re-Authenticate Refreshed Sandboxes

After a sandbox refresh, you must re-authenticate your user account. This step is crucial because the new sandbox has a unique Org ID, which requires the creation of a new Archive service.

Note
Note These procedures are specific to Salesforce Sandbox environments and don't apply to production environments.

By following these steps, the Archive Package remains fully functional and up-to-date in your Salesforce sandbox environment.

Important Consideration for Production Sandboxes

If your sandbox environment was created from a production org where the Archive Package is installed, you must reinstall the Archive Package within the sandbox. Don't attempt to re-onboard directly from the production installation.
