Anonymize Job Reporting

Anonymize application processing generates reports about each executed, anonymize job. The Anonymization Report provides an overall summary about anonymization job processing and a breakdown of any specific warnings and errors that occurred. The Salesforce Automations Report reports about the Salesforce automations that were selected to be temporarily disabled for execution of the anonymize job, as well as automations that were not selected. Warnings and errors that occurred are also reported.

Understanding the Anonymization Report

The Anonymization Report provides information about an executed anonymization job. Access anonymization reports in the Activities tab (Anonymize > Activities tab), per anonymization job entry.

With Classic Salesforce: A recurring activity is comprised of a parent record and a series of recurring child records. When anonymizing a recurring Salesforce activity, for example, the Event object or the Task object, the series of recurring child records that Salesforce automatically updates in the destination are not counted in the Anonymization Report.

The report's Summary tab provides an information overview about the anonymization job, which includes the number of errors and successfully anonymized records, the object History Tables deletions and Feed Tracking deletions. The tab also provides the duration of the anonymization job along with a breakdown of the time taken for each of the job's phases. Hover your mouse over the duration timeline to highlight each phase.

The Anonymization Errors tab, the History Table Errors tab, and the Feed Tracking Errors tab are only displayed if errors exist.

The Anonymization Errors tab provides information on failed records and information relating to the template object records that failed to anonymize. You can toggle the information per Error or per Object. Click the download icon next to the Error and Object toggles, to download an additional log file containing only the anonymization errors.

The History Table Errors tab provides details of failures in clearing the Field History tables on the template objects. The object and number of records is displayed. In Salesforce, the object History tables detect changes to tracked record fields. To avoid exposing PI data, while anonymizing History items are deleted for ALL of the sandbox objects, in the template.

The Feed Tracking Errors tab provides details of failures in clearing the Feed Tracking of records relating to field changes. The object and number of records is displayed. Feed records are posted in the Chatter. The Chatter is cleared of only the relevant feed items (that automatically track field value changes) for ALL of the sandbox sObjects that contain field change records.

Click Download icon next to the Anonymization job entry to download a .csv file containing the log.

Understanding the Salesforce Automations Report

The Automations Report informs you about the Salesforce automations that the application disabled at the start of the seeding job and then automatically re-enabled upon seed completion.

The report includes error and warning messages about the application's disable/re-enable of the requested automations.

Search for an automation by name and/or warning/error message text.

Automations are grouped by their automation type, for example, ValidationRule and ApexTrigger. The groups are collapsed by default. Click a group's arrow to expand its list and view its content - automations with relevant messages.

View the automations that were successfully enabled or disabled.

Each automation group header displays the total number of successes, warnings, and errors.

  • SuccessIdentifies that the application successfully disabled the automation at the start of the seeding job and, then, successfully re-enabled the automation upon seed completion.
  • WarningIdentifies that the application could not disable the automation at the start of the seeding job.
  • FailedIdentifies that the application failed to re-enable the automation upon seed completion. The system automatically sends an email notification.
  • Not disabledIdentifies that the automation was not selected to be disabled.

At anonymization completion, in the event that the application fails to re-enable all of the requested automations that it disabled at the start of the anonymize job, the job's generated Automations Report presents an error message that informs you of this outcome and includes the link retry enabling:

“Not all automations that were disabled during the seeding job were re-enabled. To try again, click retry enabling.”

Clicking retry enabling causes the application to re-attempt enabling all the disabled automations that it unsuccessfully re-enabled at the conclusion of the seed.

In the Anonymize Activities tab, only an Anonymized Service's most recent anonymize job and only for 24 hours from the time that the job completed, does the job's Automations Report present the error message. After 24 hours from job completion, the job's Automations Report presents the error message: Some automations were not automatically re-enabled. Please manually re-enable them.

In the Activities tab, display an anonymize job entry's Automations Report by clicking the Lock icon in the entry's Salesforce Automations Report column.
