You can export manually backup data to an SQL database using a generated SQL script which inserts all data and relationships into the database. You can export a full backup or a backup of selected objects.
Backup export is supported to MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS-SQL databases.
MySQL databases can be configured with an endpoint prior to exporting a backup, allowing users to push data directly from the Own Data Platform into the database. This allows MySQL exports to be automated to the configured endpoint.
Note Own is not responsible for data exported to an
external storage and cannot be held responsible for the security, privacy, or protection of data
in any external storage. Users are responsible for their security and privacy outside of the Own
Data Platform.
- Navigate to the service to be exported.
- Click Export. The Export Backup window appears.
- On the "Export to" drop-down list, select SQL or MySQL.
- If SQL was selected, under Select format, select which format to export the data for.
- If MySQL was selected, under Select Endpoint, select the preconfigured endpoint for the MySQL database.
- Select whether to export All or Specific objects.
- If you selected Specific, select which objects to export.
- Click Export.
-
A warning message is displayed if the MySQL endpoint is not secure. If this occurs, review
the endpoint configuration to better protect the data being exported. To proceed with the
export, click "Yes, export".
The export process starts and the Jobs tab is displayed.
- Once the export job is complete, review the job for compressed and uncompressed download links.
