A marketing tactic template is a reusable snapshot of a proven tactic. Teams publish a tactic as a template and build new tactics from it, so recurring work stays fast and consistent.

Reuse a Proven Tactic
When a tactic works well, a team can publish it as a template and build later tactics from that pattern instead of starting over. Templates help in a few common cases:
- Repeat proven, recurring, or seasonal work, so each round starts from the same tested setup instead of building it again.
- Keep work consistent across teams and regions. Carry a set of content forward together, such as a paid social post and its matching display ad.
A template captures the tactic as it is at that moment, including its linked content. Later edits to the original tactic don't change the template, so a template stays a stable starting point rather than a live copy.
Carry Content Forward
A template keeps the same links to Salesforce CMS content that the original tactic had. A team that builds a new tactic from the template starts with that content already in place. The team reuses proven assets instead of relinking them each time.
Carry Compliance Controls Forward
A template also keeps the compliance controls that the original tactic had, along with each control's reviewer and instructions. A team that builds a new tactic from the template starts with the same controls already in place.
The template holds these controls as definitions only. It doesn't send them for review when you create the template. When a team builds a new tactic from it, that tactic goes through review on its own.
The LinkedIn Paid Social Ads tactic drove registrations for the Q3 Product Launch EMEA program. Because the same type of work repeats for each regional launch, the team publishes it as a template.
For the next launch, a campaign manager builds a tactic from that template. The new tactic starts with the same structure and linked creative, ready to adjust for the new region.
